What I mean is that the stuff learnt about Verum Rex in Toy Box may not be 100% accurate. First of all, in Rex's defense, Sora looks more like Yozora than anyone he could have met in his life, so its not weird to think they are the same. Second, Sora seems to like it? Jk, the thing is, the silver haired guy with heterochromia is called Yozora in the video game and Sora hangs on to this information.

However, when Sora meets Yozora and calls him by name, the later states that this is not his true form. He doesnt deny being Yozora. This may contradict what we knowf rom Toy Box about Yozora's apperance HOWEVER, Rex was stuck on Bahamut so he didnt complete the game which means that that he didnt know the entirety of the story. Perhaps, the silver haired guy is introduced as Yozora but later in the game it is revealed that it is not his true form.

In he secret ending, the driver calls "yozora" "Commander". Either Yozora is a commander or Commander is the person he looks like. And thhis is information Rex doesnt have due to being bad at video games (Imagine if Young Xheanort told him "Git Gud" lol). The problem is Luxurod, assuming he is the driver, he couldnt be part of the video game since he was in the real world. Unless ofc time isnt in sync or maybe Luxord lost his heart after the events of Verum Rex.

The point is that Rex doesnt know the full story and it is uknown if what shown in the game is what actually transpires. Because remember, even though its video game, it exists as a seperate univese that has been acessed by MoM and Luxord is from it. So what shown in the game could simply be a general story but not exactly what is going to happen in the future.
