(You and Chirithy are minding your own business in Daybreak Town...)
Chirithy: What a peaceful day it is today. I wish it could be like this every day...
(Suddenly, you’re approached by another Keyblade wielder.)
Afro Key Wielder: Argh! Hey you, I need your help!
Get to the warehouse in the central plaza, on the double!
(He runs off without explaining.)
Chirithy: It looks like something's happened. Let's hurry!
(You run after the wielder to the warehouse in the market.)
Afro Key Wielder: Ah, you came!
We cornered a new kind of Heartless in this warehouse, but the three guys who went in there haven't come out...
I want you to come in with me to check it out.
(Inside, you find other wielders struggling. The Heartless they’ve been fighting seems to have made its way into a Dark Corridor. With no other option, you head in. One of the other wielders calls out as the portal closes behind you.)
Bandana Key Wielder: Careful!
(You clash with the Heartless within the Dark Corridor, only for it to run away through another portal.)Chirithy: The Heartless!
It looks like the darkness is chasing a new world! Let's follow it!
(You open a portal to the new world and go through.)
(You arrive in the Enchanted Dominion to find a man and his horse listening to someone sing.)
Phillip: Oh, hello. I'm Phillip.
It's rare for people to come strolling this deep in the woods.
Wait, were you following the sound of that singing too?
(You nod.)
Phillip: It's so lovely.
(He mounts his horse.)
Phillip: Let's go and see!
(They head off towards the voice, unaware that Heartless are following them.)
Chirithy: Just like I thought, Heartless are appearing.
I'm worried about him. Let's keep up!
(You defeat the Heartless and find Phillip with a beautiful girl, who appears quite surprised by his presence.)
Phillip: But don't you remember? We've met before!
???: We, we have?
Phillip: Of course, you said so yourself: Once upon a dream!
(You start to approach them, but Chirithy stops you.)
Chirithy: Whoa-whoa-whoa! Not right now!
I'm sure you catch my drift. Look at them.
It looks like there aren't any Heartless around, so let's just keep a quiet lookout.
(Meanwhile, Phillip and the girl seem to have fallen hard for each other.)
???: I never thought I would meet you--outside of my dreams, that is.
Phillip: Who are you, what's your name?
???: Hmm? Oh, my name. Why, it's, it's...
(She steps away from him.)
???: Oh no, no, I can't, I...
(She starts to run away but stops when Phillip calls out to her.)
???: Goodbye!
Phillip: But when will I see you again?
???: Oh never, never!
Phillip: Never?
???: Well, maybe someday.
Phillip: When, tomorrow?
???: Oh no, this evening.
Phillip: Where?
???: At the cottage, in the glen.
(The girl leaves.)
Chirithy: You know what, I bet the Heartless are after her.
She's…
Well, I don't know for sure yet, but let's go see what her deal is.
(You find the girl in the forest, surrounded by Heartless. You hurry over and defeat them.)
???: Thank you. But, I'm afraid I'm in a hurry.
Goodbye now.
(She runs off. After she leaves, you notice the Heartless you’ve chased into this world flying overhead.)
Chirithy: It's that Heartless!
I'm worried about her too, but we can't let that Heartless get away.
Let's go after it!
(You chase after the Heartless.)
(You chase the Heartless back to its friends, who have surrounded 3 ladies outside of their cottage. You beat the Heartless back and defeat them.)
Flora: You're a tough little thing, aren't you, dear?
Merryweather: That power… You're not working for that witch now, are you?
(You’re confused by the question.)
Fauna: Oh, stop. They helped us.
Thank you. I'm Fauna.
Flora: True, true. I'm sure this child isn't like that.
Thank you. I'm Flora.
Merryweather: Merryweather.
...Thank you.
Flora: Oh yes, we must hurry. Rose will be back, soon.
We have to make sure she has a wonderful birthday party.
Fauna: With a wonderful birthday cake.
Flora: And a wonderful dress.
All right, let's hurry.
(The three of them head back inside the house. You and Chirithy sit outside, listening to their very chaotic preparations.)
Chirithy: A cake, a dress…
Sounds like they've got a lot of work cut out for them.
(Suddenly, the noises stop.)
Chirithy: Huh? It went quiet.
(Chirithy notices something and points towards the chimney!)
Chirithy: Look!
(You turn to see bursts of pink and blue bursting out of the chimney. A raven sitting in a nearby tree gets spooked.)
(With perfect timing, the girl you met earlier arrives at the cottage. This must be the “Rose” the 3 ladies were referring to. You approach her.)
Rose: Oh, it's you.
I'm sorry about before. I was in a rush.
(You tell her not to worry about it.)
Rose: I want to thank you properly. Please come inside.
(She invites you in.)
Rose: Aunt Flora, Fauna, Merryweather!
(No one answers.)
Rose: Where is everybody?
(The girl notices a beautiful dress and cake waiting on the table. When she approaches, the 3 ladies burst out to surprise her.)
Flora: Surprise!
Fauna: Surprise!
Merryweather: Happy birthday!
Rose: Oh you darlings, this is the happiest day of my life.
Everything's so wonderful, just wait till you meet him.
Fauna: Him?
Merryweather: Rose!
Flora: You've met some stranger?
Rose: Oh he's not a stranger, we've met before.
Flora: You have?
Merryweather: Where?
Rose: Once upon a dream!
(She takes Fauna’s hands and starts to dance.)
Fauna: She's in love.
Flora: Oh no. This is terrible!
(Rose is confused by everyone’s reaction.)
Rose: Why? After all, I am 16.
Flora: It isn't that, dear.
Fauna: You're already betrothed.
Rose: Betrothed?
Merryweather: Since the day you were born.
Fauna: To Prince Phillip, dear.
Rose: But that's impossible! How could I marry a prince, I'd have to be...
Merryweather: A princess.
Fauna: And you are, dear!
Flora: Princess Aurora.
(The raven from earlier has been creeping on the windowsill, eavesdropping on the conversation. It quickly flies away after hearing the revelation.)
Flora: Tonight, we're taking you back to your father, King Stefan.
(“Rose”, who is actually Princess Aurora, doesn’t take the news too well.)
Aurora: But, but I can't! He's coming here tonight, I promised to meet him.
Flora: I'm sorry, child, but you must never see that young man again.
Aurora: Oh, no, no!
I can't believe it. No!
(She runs away to her room, sobbing.)
Aurora: No!
(You leave the cottage.)
(Meanwhile, the raven returns to its home; a dark castle deep within the mountains. It lands on its master’s scepter, who seems pleased by the news it bears.)
