It does share some resemblance to Riku, particularly a younger Riku, but the CGI-ness of it all could cause some misconceptions.

Whatever, his eyelashes are the same length as every other male character, watch some of the cutscenes in KHII with Sora's facial close-ups, when he's opening his eyes or something, they are extremely long for a guy.
Yes because fan-drawn images works as solid evidence for this kind of thing.

Except the actualy rendering of Xion has her hair curve more, unlike that of Vanitas' face.

Just because his hair MIGHT resemble Xion's doesn't mean Vanitas is a girl. Some hairstyles are unisex, and this is one part of a hairstyle, which is common in a few male characters, the rest of which we don't know. For all we know, Vanitas could look like Wolverine!
Actually, with Sora, Roxas, Ven and Xion, their hair also goes slightly over the eyebrow we were shown of Vanitas, so saying their hair is similar is pushing it.

i think it is stated somewhere that it wasnt vexen that invented the replicas. so maybe it preexisted

I don't have any solid theories because I don't have much to work from yet, we have nothing other than:
-He weilds a Keyblade;
-His body-suit resembles Riku's, 'cept coloured differently and lacking the X-less Heartless symbol;
-His stance resembles Riku's (I think);
-He has black hair;
-He has gold, pupil-less eyes;
And that he likely has the same VA as Sora.
