Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Trophy List Revealed!

Details

Since 2008, trophies have been a staple part of the Playstation experience. Much like the Xbox's achievements, trophies marked players reaching various story points, gaining rare items, pulling off hard to do tricks, and other various skills.

Back in July, Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX- co-producer Tai Yasue confirmed 2 trophies for this collection in an interview with GameInformer, one relating to summoning Mickey (available when the player recieves Game Over against certain bosses) and another relating to the activation of Anti-form. In the same interview, it was also announced that Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX- would feature more trophies than the previous collection, Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX-.

All together there are 102 trophies. This is broken down into:

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix  - 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 8 Silver, 40 Bronze.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix - 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 11 Silver, 32 Bronze.

They tried to squeeze as many trophies as they could while remaining under the point limit. I guess those weren't deemed important enough to retain.

Maybe that's stuff Yasue considered "too hard." He did say Trophies would be easier to get in 2.5.

Although... those were far from the hardest Trophies.

Definitely appreciate the lack of Trophies for Standard and Beginner. So even if they don't stack, it's not nearly as bad.
And BbS doesn't have difficulty Trophies for each scenario! Thank God.

Highly doubt they will be stackable, and don't see the need to rage. Much better then three playthroughs or worse, Re:CoM's six.

Both good lists overall. I think the trophy I'll have the most problems with is Top Gun assuming that's those Level 3 missions where you have to control the camera as well as everything else. Hunter-X shenanigans incoming.

Edit: Thank god there's no Level 99 trophies for Birth By Sleep. That would've been the worst by far.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind lol. It's cool they didn't put too much because playing all of those playthroughs. I still haven't started on my normal mode playthrough and its my only trophy left.

I guess my way of mapping it will be, playing the KH2 on beginner while working on every thing. Then start on Critical which will be my first time playing on that mode and finally one normal fun playthrough from Proud.

Wellllll, No Heart is actually fairly difficult, so you may need to be lvl 99 to beat him anyway :P Well, I had to be at least...But that was also as Terra who I am the worst with. Then again all those battles were made with multiplayer in mind I believe so I think they probably tweaked them now?

Level 99 isn't necessary and it actually doesn't help you for BBS anyway because STR/DEF only go so far before you hit the caps for bosses at which point the whole thing becomes irrelevant. Not to mention the EXP needed to get to Level 99 is atrocious anyway. I'm thankful they've saved us from what would've been a really boring grind.

And yeah they did say they were tweaking things. Hopefully the mechanics for how the game played out with Zero EXP is one of them... cause Level 1 CM is terrible on BBS as well.

Those Level 3 missions require you to use all your fingers and it can get kinda sore doing it for extended periods of time after a while. :P

I've never gotten a platinum, but this seems like something I could actually go for. I'd gladly do others' Ice Cream and Gummi Ships for them if I could. And Fruitball. I'm good at that, too!

Between school during the day and soon-to-be work at night and my class assignments, squeezing in 12 hours a second time will likely never happen until the winter.

My usual KH2 run is 20 hours.

Overall the lists for both games are great, barring the Proud/Critical pair for KH2FM but I'm looking at that on the bright side, it could've been worse. I think I'll probably just try a speedrun of Proud and do everything else on Critical.

Just super glad there's no Level 99 trophy for BBS FM. I think I'd rather do the Level 99 trophy for Riku in Re:CoM again, to be honest. (And that was terrible too!)

Hm, guess I never really noticed? I think I kind of just used that EXP Walker trick where you put something on the control stick and let them walk in a circle all night. :P That being said, yeah leveling up in BBS is horrid, and I guess the lack of trophies for it kind of shows they know that.

I've found that if you really aren't good at it with the music, it is better to just mute the screen and follow the visual cues.

Despite all of my bitching and moaning, I actually had it really easy with Ice Cream Beat. If you feel uncomfortable with no music at all, turn the volume up just a tiny bit where you can hear the song but only as background sound.

And why dread the minigames? Ice cream beat and KH II gummy ship missions are fun, for me at least. And for my lazy friends, a doughnut gummy ship will easily get you at least a SSS+5 on every route.

Ew, they still want us to do the BBS reports for each character? I like all of Birth By Sleep's mini-games, but if I've said it once I've said it a thousand times: they're the same for each character, we shouldn't have to play the same games three times just so each character gets credit!

It's hours of gameplay essentially repeating yourself without variation in Command Board and Ice Cream Beat, and Ven and Terra control more-or-less identically in Rumble Racer as well. Silly.

As to the KH2 trophies: how many Anti Form transformations would you say you average in a normal game of KH2? I'd say something like five or six for me, before I get Final Form. It's certainly not 13. :/ This is going to get messy. Better start Drive grinding much earlier than usual...

Final form only resets the counter Anti form uses to manifest, as long as you don't use Final too often, you can still get Anti at end game ... FM exclusive keyblade two become one also boosts your chances.

Does anyone know or have an educated guess what the trophy for clearing BBS in Critical is for? Does it mean clearing one scenario, clearing all, etc?

What I want to know is, in order to get the Critical Mode trophy for BBSFM, do you just have to beat a single character's story on Critical to get it?

No more gummi missions!!! :( Except these ones, the trophy lists were easier that I had imagined. I don't mind if the diff trophies are not stackable because KHII is easy and if you skip cutscenes It's not that long. But I'm a little afraid for gummi and ice cream. Oh, hamburgers...

In the same interview, it was also announced that Kingdom Hearts -HD 2.5 ReMIX- would feature more trophies than the previous collection, Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX-.

But wait... didn't 1.5 have 110 trophies, as opposed to 2.5's 102?

I'm very happy that there aren't any trophies pertaining to the Trinity Archives though. Completing those was a mess :/

Yeah, it did, which makes Yasue's words outdated;

Yasue: Yeah, for 2.5, there's a lot...several actually. For example, there are a lot of easy and difficult ones that we're actually tweaking right now. One of them is Anti Form - how many times you become Dark Sora, or how many times for Kingdom Hearts II, Mickey comes along, Mickey stays with you. For Kingdom Hearts II, the gameplay is very diverse; there are a lot of things you can do, so there was a lot of room to make trophies. I think there's a lot more trophies in Kingdom Hearts 2.5 than 1.5. Kingdom Hearts II and Birth By Sleep really have a lot of gameplay.

It will probably take 1000 tries before I finish Fantastic on all the ice cream songs though so we'll see what I manage to finish first.

Well, yeah, but that's not an achievement on its own. They could have put a trophy for beating the cavern and then another for defeating all the data org XIII. Also, I know they made the trophies easier, but somewhere deep inside my heart I was expecting them to put a LV1CM trophy since that's the game that started it and is extremely well balanced. xD

Well, I did follow the news and I know that they said they would be easier, but for some reason I was expecting them to add more curious and challenging trophies for hardcore KH players. I mean, at least for BBS they added some curious ones like performing the command Breaktime with all character but for KH2 it's just what you would expect as basic trophies, at least in my opinion.

You gotta make sacrifices if you want to include more trophies, especially with that point limit (though if they treated a game as DLC, they could add as many as they want at whatever value).

Just super glad there's no Level 99 trophy for BBS FM. I think I'd rather do the Level 99 trophy for Riku in Re:CoM again, to be honest. (And that was terrible too!)

I agree. The Riku leveling got really tiring in the last 20 levels or so but it wasn't too bad. In BBS it is way harder. Ven is my highest leveled character in BBS and he's only at 63 I think (and that took a LONG time).

I thought this too. Now Beginner and Standard probably won't be played on my game. Except for the difficulty trophies in 1.5 I haven't played a KH game on less than Proud difficulty since KH2 came out in 2006. :P

As to the KH2 trophies: how many Anti Form transformations would you say you average in a normal game of KH2? I'd say something like five or six for me, before I get Final Form. It's certainly not 13. :/ This is going to get messy. Better start Drive grinding much earlier than usual...

Only 3 or 4 for me. xD Looks like Two Become One will help with that but it's still a lot more transformations into Anti-Form than I usually do.

You find one in a world somewhere and they provide you with a challenge, such as hitting them a certain amount of times before the timer runs out. You complete all 13 challenges, you get a Keyblade.

Yep. Except they are puzzle pieces in this game and the puzzles are KH artwork.

Break Time is a command you can use in BBS. The characters do like a dance pose and recover HP, iirc.

This is what I was thinking. Why do the Re: Coded scenes have more gold trophies than BBS?

Trophies are points. Each trophy kind has a different amount of points. Games can not exceed I think 1230 trophy points and KH2FM reaches 1200. Re:coded is able to have more gold trophies because it only reaches 300 points.

One is for hitting it 99 times in 30 seconds.
Two is for dodging/reflecting projectiles till your score reaches 80.
Three has you collect 450 prizes it drops.
Four has you hit 85 clones of it without getting hit.
Fives has you defeat it within 10 seconds.
Six has you defeat all clones in 45 seconds.
Seven has you defeat it in 10 seconds, but if you make contact with it, it knocks you back.
Eight has you hitting it to keep it off the ground 85 times.
Nine is to hitting it 75 times without it stopping its spinning.
Ten summons four clones and you must defeat the original within 55 seconds.
Eleven has you deplete a counter above it's head within 19 seconds.
Twelve has you defeat all clones within the time limit.
Thirteen is only accessible when you defeat all the other mushrooms.

They keyblade gives you Strength +5 Magic +7

Most of those don't sound too bad but I can tell #8 will give me problems. I could never do this with the Rare Truffle in KH1 until I found out this trick with Aero in Neverland last year for 1.5. But with no Aero nor Neverland in KH2 I can see this being difficult. xD

Besides that, the only other thing that is on my mind is the fact that it is only S rank on all routes, NOT S+10. To anyone who is nervous, the gummi routes are MUCH easier in KH2 vs. KH1, just getting S+10 on them is much harder, S is fairly simple if you use that really popular trick of only using the neon sticks for your body :P

EDIT: I stand corrected, the trophies don't need stacking since it's only Proud and then Critical (which you unlock after Proud), so YAY!!!

He isn't a superboss by any means. What happens is that you have the option of fighting in eight rounds. The odd-numbered rounds are fought inside of Monstro while the even-numbered rounds are fought outside in some ocean where you attack Monstro directly or with explosive barrels lain around on rafts. The even-numbered rounds also have a time limit (about 2 or 3 minutes IIRC) where you automatically go to the next round when time expires. The only exception to this is the eighth and final round where you have an unlimited amount of time to finish Monstro off.

Now what's really interesting about this is that if you play your cards right, you can end the battle prematurely and finish him off in just two rounds with Round 1 being inside of him and Round 2 fighting against him directly. For me, I hit the explosive barrels right at him, set up Seeker Mines (or Mine Squares if not playing as Aqua), Thunder Surges and had fun with Ghost Drive.

I don't think I've ever been so tempted to platinum a game before.

And BBS only has one difficulty trophy.

I know me either. I don't normally specifically go for a platinum but I have kind of made it a mission to platinum 1.5 (which I have) and 2.5 since KH is my favorite series it deserves it! :D

Master Spockanort
The Secret Episode is a brief moment of Aqua's time in the Realm of Darkness. You do some stuff, fight a boss, then it gives you a secret ending that leads to...A (likely) shelved (probably) title, Birth By Sleep Volume II!

That's still funny to me. The secret ending to a game that looks to be not happening anymore will still be there and likely confuse first time players.

I didn't know the specifics of the Monstro fight but I would think a fight like that would deserve a trophy.

Pretty much the expected "do everything". I'm okay with that.

Also glad there is no difficulty trophy for each level this time.

What's all this about a Monstro fight? Because if he's a secret boss or sumthin he SHOULD have a trophy. Theyre supposed to highlight the things we've accomplished as players to show to others. Kinda the point.

He's a special Mirage Arena boss. You get trophies for completing the ranks in MA so it would be pointless to have a trophy for Monstro. He's kind of an awful boss anyways. Random and no fun.

Oh ok. Yeah, it DOES make sense that he doesn't have one, then. I always loved ranking up in the MA, and rank trophies fit the area much better than individuals. They did that right, if you ask me.

But there's only three difficulty trophies in all of 2.5, so it's a moot point.

Well, I am happy that it seemingly only requires 2 playthroughs of KH2 and just 1 of birth by sleep. KH1.5 took way too many playthroughs (three minimum I believe?) and I never even platinum'd Re: CoM.

Edit: Okay, only one playthrough of each. :) Def platinuming.

That was the exact point of her post - that they ARE stackable.

1.5's trophies didn't stack and required you to play the game on every single difficulty to acquire the trophies, rather than just playing on the highest level and automatically claiming the lower difficulty achievements.

2.5's trophies do stack so you'll only have to play on Critical and you'll also acquire the trophy for Proud afterwards.

I understand the post, that wasnt my question. Dont you unlock Critical after youve won on Proud? I dont know. But if so then the only stackable ones I see are 'clear the story' and 'clear the story on Proud.' I could very well be wrong, but I thought you didnt start with Critical?

Hmmm, looks like Sin's toxin has gotten to you. Looks like you made it out OK. Praise be to Yevon.

In all seriousness, I agree that fighting a giant whale in games isn't necessarily the greatest thing out there. I give credit for the Monstro fight in that they were at least trying something, but in the end, the boss battle against him just pales in comparison to Armor of the Master, No Heart and even the Red Eyes Heartless/thing/whatever in the Secret Episode.

This is a huge relief. I like being able to just work on on save file without having to restart the game just to get a bunch of trophies. I'll probably be more inclined to actually trophy hunt. Which is something I almost never do except for my most beloved games.

There aren't really any missables. The only way you can miss anything in this game is by not doing what the trophy asks you.

The only trophies I can think of that would be possible to miss are "The Adventurer: Aqua" & "Collector" if you don't complete Aqua's Reports in her story before jumping into Final Episode & Secret Episode because there are treasures/stickers in Radiant Garden that will be locked out once you start Final Episode...and then everything in Secret Episode.

So it is best to 1) Have three separate files for Aqua's story, Final Episode, and Secret Episode, 2) Get all stickers, treasures, and rare item drops from Radiant Garden before starting Final Episode.

That's all I can think of.

Yes, 2.5 is really good about not having things missable. Everything that is a trophy can be done during a playthrough or during a post-game clean up.

Yeah! I prefer trophies that don't punish you for doing the one thing at the specific time that you may not have known about and you have to play the entire game over just to do that one thing at that one time. Yeah.

Never play Epic Mickey 2 then. You do the slightest thing, you get locked out of like 6 trophies related to it. Not to mention there's only one save slot and it autosaves after everything so if you screw up with one trophy to go, you have to restart all over again :'(

Hey guys! I need a little help! I collected all of the stickers, every character has Rhythm Mixer, and yet my Collector trophy did not pop up. Is there anything special I need to do like complete the final bosses and reach the completion screen? Or did my game glitch and I've likely missed my chance to get this trophy?

To make note, I collected Terra & Aqua's stickers before going to face off against the final bosses and Ven's were collected after.

I'm not too worried about it because I can get this trophy when I play 2.5 in English.

I got mine immediately when I pasted the last sticker on my album for my 3rd character.

Do you have a back-up save file for you to try again?

You are talking about the sticker trophy right? Journal trophy requires you to defeat No Heart, Vanitas Remnant and Mysterious Figure as well.

I'd personally recommend 50 if you're just sort of cruising through the game at your own pace. I saved all 4 secret bosses as my last task for journal completion/platinum and was at level 48 for Aqua and Terra, and 46 for Ven.

Yeah, I'm saving them for last as well. Still got a lot of Commands left to grind out, among other things.

Hopefully they don't give me as much trouble as Lingering Will did. Especially since I have to fight them all three times over.

Level doesn't matter against the 3 BbS superbosses, but difficulty does. I tried a beginner speed run out of curiosity, and I managed to defeat all 3 within the first try (btw it took me 8hr 45min to complete the journal in Beginner so you might consider that if it takes you to long to defeat them in Critical).

I can provide more advice when you are stuck, just go full offensive against VR and MF for Terra.

Note that the lag in load time is actually a great help during the superbosses fight. The lag for command styles usually don't occur during normal battles, but they occur most of the time in these high speed battles. 100% of the time when I know that I can't dodge/guard the opponent's attack on time after my own and I chanced into a style change right at that moment, the lag allows me to readjust my dodge timing and escape. BbS only though, enemies don't freeze in 2FM+......
