The fourth episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries, our collaborative series with GameTrailers.com, is now live for your viewing pleasure.

This collaboration was first announced back in December, where we've been working on videos that shed light on the deeper mysteries and plot twists of the series in order to help keep everyone on track for the upcoming release of Kingdom Hearts 3.

In this episode we summarized the plot of the broswer-based game, Kingdom Hearts χ [chi], along with going through the clues it's presented to us regarding the Book of Prophecies, the Foretellers and more which connect it to Kingdom Hearts 3. Be sure to watch and tell us how you liked it in the comments below.

Interested in learning more about the game itself? Check out our handy χ [chi] section where you can view guides and various information regarding this currently Japan exclusive title. If you'd like to speculate and take part in discussions regarding the title with other fans, our χ [chi] forums are the perfect place!

If you missed our last episode, which went through Xehanort's shemes over the course of his lifetime, you can watch it here.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

This episode gave me chills. Even though I reasonably keep up with the Chi updates, there were still many things in this video--and some theories--that I hadn't heard. And now I have just so much more cool things to speculate about!

It makes me all the more excited for KHIII and the Chi updates, and that hopefully a Chi localization is fast on the horizon (if not, I'll just have to finally crack down on watch all the subtitled videos that you people have been kind enough to supply on YouTube).

Fantastic job, guys. I think this might be my favorite video of yours so far, and I'll definitely have to give it another watch when my mind's more clear:)

This has been a terrific series that you all put together with GameTrailers, and though I'm sad to see it go, it has been one great, answer-filled ride. And I thank everyone that was a part of it. -bows-

Major, major kudos:)

And may we get KHIII news soon--so that we can all speculate about the next amazing piece of this beautiful picture--together:D

Love you, KHInsider.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Great series guys! I'm really glad you made them. Especially about KH Chi, which I haven't tried to play since the game's release.

I am just so excited for KH3. I feel like all the information the KH crew have yet to reveal is just way too much to fit into one game without there being parallel storytelling like in DDD and BBS. I'm sure the game will live up to its hype because the story is just so amazing that I can't imagine it ending flatly.

Also, I just watched the Xehanort video today too and I'm so glad you paid tribute to his voice actors. It's so sad they both left this world. I still can't believe both of them are gone.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Very nice! I especially liked the part about Master Xehanort's Keyblade, which is about as clear as it could possibly be! And I'm surprised how quickly it came out, though obviously it is a bit shorter.

If anyone is interested in more details about the story of KHX, I've posted a detailed summary in the forums, though you may prefer to watch the story in action by looking up a translation or by playing yourself!

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

A very well done episode. That should clear up any confusion towards KH: X.
The only thing I would have liked to add, was Chiritys connection to Dream Eaters, and possibly to the Sleeping Worlds.
I also have to say, that if Nomura had thought the bringing powers from the future things ahead, then DDD opening were the characters appear from the books was one hell of well done foreshadowing.

While we did touch on Chirithy being a Dream Eater, we wanted to focus mainly on the Book of Prophecies and everything connected to it since that seems to play a bigger role with KH3 right now than what we know about Chirithy.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

What I really hated about this video is I feel like Square robbed us of a KH game and now we've already seen the biggest spoilers because they took so damn long.
Other then that this was the best video of them all, some really great shit if only I wasn't so obsessed with discovering everything on my own first or getting a chance and then see what I missed and others could spot.
I'm surprised they didn't mention the guardian at the end though, do we know with 100% certainty that that is Ansem/XH or could it be the source of the key?

PS. Have someone said that the 13th darkness and the 7th light is the same person and Sora will probably be both?
Is that a common theory? have anyone spoken about it or am I the only one?
Question is if it will be Riku walking the middle path or if Sora play the christ character, who ever it is he will die as he dive in to the darkness and KH but then be reborn.

Don't wanna spoil if people plan on playing it but here's the end to another JRPG that did the exact same thing

[SPOILER=ending to one new and one rather old jrpg]
Persona 3 - the hero dive in to the darkness of the moon where he find the light and disappear as if dead for a while before being reborn with the secrets of life and death which the other characters "have to find out for themself"
Many other shows and games do similar things like Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagen with the moon or Blooborne where you are reborn as the new great one and for some reason that is still a mystery to me the moon is almost always involved[/SPOILER]

I was also curious about that seeing how I haven't been keeping up hoping for a western release eventually but wasn't there a pretty strong theory about the entire game taking place in the dream world?
was there to little evidence to bring that up, have it been proven wrong or was there just not enough time to show it?

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

I loved the Mysteries series! Thank you for providing us such clearly-told informations~

I was just thinking about something. In Chi, we battle both Pureblood and Emblem Heartless. Purebloods originate from the darkness in people's hearts and gather in places filled with darkness, the most residing in the Realm of Darkness, while Emblem Heartless were artificially created as a result of Apprentice Xehanort's experiments, right? I was wondering why there are Emblem Heartless in Chi in first place, because Xehanort and all his forms are supposed to exist after the events of Chi.
The first explanation that came to my mind is the following. We know Chirithy are Dream Eaters and they were created by someone, a Master, the Master of the Foretellers. What if the same person originally created Emblem Heartless? But after thinking about it some more, I left that idea. As Ephemera tells the player, the worlds in Chi are most likely illusions created with the power of the Book of Prophecies. This Book possesses the power to summon things from the future, and, in the future, Purebloods and Emblem Heartless wander about in the worlds. There are no Emblem Heartless in Birth By Sleep, or we didn't see them on screen at least, but there are Purebloods; however, they gather in the Realm of Darkness instead of wandering in the worlds, yet can be brought in the worlds from there. So the worlds summoned as illusions to gather Lux from in Chi must be from some time after BBS and before KH1. But in Dwarf Woodland's case it doesn't make sense because Snow White died and was revived already in the illusion from Chi (there are Heartless), and the same thing happens in BBS's Dwarf Woodlands (there are no Heartless). So there still must be something or some person that releases and creates Heartless to inhabit that world to make the players stronger, if the Book of Prophecies makes world-copy-paste-as-illusion possible and copies it precisely.
... *shrugs*

This was a great video, although I'm heavily biased since I really like [chi].

All in all I think the whole Mysteries series really accomplished its goal of explaining some of the more difficult and elaborate connections between all games, so thank you for that and cheers all around. You've done a great job.

Noooo, Mysteries is over with!;A;

Figured this'd be a shorter one since there isn't much info to use, but I'm so happy you mentioned Xehanort's Keyblade at the end. It's just too flipping important at this point that it'd be a crime to not have it in.
*sigh* We better get [chi] over here.

Y'all and GameTrailers did a great job on this series. A lot of hard work and love went into these and it shows!

Keep being awesome!

Fantastic job to KHInsider and Gametrailers staff who worked with this series despite all odds and delays prior. I enjoyed every bit of it. Anyway, this episode gave me a much clearer understanding of Chi and what to expect in future of Kingdom Hearts. Thanks again!

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Sad that this is the final episode. These were very well done explanation videos. This one in particular was really great, as I've never ever noticed the fact that every Foreteller keyblade has the same Eye that MX's keyblade has. That pretty much confirms that MX's keyblade is the weapon of the 6th Foreteller, although what connection that person has to Xehanort is yet to be seen.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Interesting episode. I would have thought that there would have been just a little mention of Ephemera (I think that's what his name is, anyway) considering that he's someone from a different clan that interacts with the player character, but then again, almost everything about him is mired in theories at this point.

Anyway, good video everyone. I'll be interested to see how this series will grow.

Ah yes. Since we know more about those things it makes sense to focus more on them.
I only mentioned that since the Dream Eater reveal kind of gives you an idea, that the happenings of Chi really happen in a Sleeping World. I though that would have been an cool idea to explore in the video, but since most of that is merely based on theories, it was likely better to focus on the Book of Prophecies.

Next mystery episode about the possible Sleeping World connection, or about Ephemera and the illusions?

Nothing's confirmed yet, but if we were to make more episodes (which we're definitely going to try and make happen) then I'd like to give Chi some time to get more story updates. Then we can go deeper into more stuff, such as the Foreteller symbols in Hollow Bastion and Twilight Town, which we had to cut out last minute in this script :(

Sign is right. For all we know, the Unicorns at Twilight Town mansion are an irrelevant coincidence. And while the other info in this episode may also be coincidence, there's more evidence to make it relevant, such as the "Eye of Darkness" being on every Foreteller keyblade as well as Xehanort's.

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Alright, so hear me out.

The Foretellers all have Eyes on the head to the chain of their Keyblade, correct? Xehanort has the same in his Birth By Sleep form. Here are my hypothesis:

-Xehanort inherited the Keyblade
-Xehanort is a Foreteller
-Xehanort isn't really Xehanort, it's more body-switching
-Multi-Verse Theory?
-Xehanort is a Nobody (hence the X in his name, and everything we thought we knew about Xemnas and Ansem would be a lie.)

Let me know what you think!

Re: Fourth Episode of Kingdom Hearts Mysteries - The Foretellers' Prophecy

Jaredcr
-Xehanort inherited the Keyblade

I would say that he inherited, but rather he willingly let a force inside of him in exchange for enough power to venture other worlds.

Jaredcr
-Xehanort is a Foreteller

It's possible he's the Sixth Apprentice (that never became a Foreteller, nor was assigned a Book of Prophecy), or he's being possessed by the Sixth Apprentice.

Jaredcr
-Xehanort isn't really Xehanort, it's more body-switching

I think Xehanort IS Xehanort, just that he willingly let his body become the vessel of the Sixth Apprentice.

Jaredcr
-Multi-Verse Theory?

I doubt Mr. Nomura would complicate the plot even more with Multi-Universe thrown in. We have enough as it is with our "regulated" time-traveling (lol).

Jaredcr
-Xehanort is a Nobody (hence the X in his name, and everything we thought we knew about Xemnas and Ansem would be a lie.)

I don't think so. I think Xehanort is Xehanort's name. It's possible Xehanort was possessed by the Sixth Apprentice after he left the Land of Departure (or perhaps even during his training, seeing as how he inquired to Young Eraqus about stuff Eraqus and their Master only knew).
What might be possible is that Xehanort created a Nobody after he removed his heart from it (and I think Nomura said something along the lines of leaving that particular topic in the air). What if his "Nobody" is bearing the Sixth Foreteller's heart and has been observing everything all along? Waiting for the right moment to strike?
