I thought Nobodies couldn't feel emotions.

But when he gets out of the fight with Riku, Zexion throws himself against the wall when he sees the Riku Replica with Axel.

Fear is an emotion. Fear for his existence? How can you feign fear like that?

You could argue that fear is an instinct. You see something dangerous, so then you jump back. I dunno.

I know the manga isn't canon, but this would answer the problem...
Its true that Nobodies do not have memories but its a memory thing...due to their lack of emotions,
they rely on their past memories of their emotions to create fake emotions...

Where are you?
Like Raz said, fear is arguably instinct. But surprise isn't an emotion, and surprise was defintely mixed in there

I know...
They actually explained the subject of why they look like they can feel and...
They demonstated Larxene laughing cuz she put a woopie cushion in Axels chair.
I'll post the manga page.

Heres some examples of
Happiness- Larxene and Demyx,
Annoyance(just a tad)- Saix
and
Anger- Axel
which are emotions as well as fear...

Vexen was also afraid to die. Just throwing it out there...
I agree that i think its based on memory.
The remember what they should feel.

Axel said in CoM "Hey... Im actually enjoying this."
I put that down to the fact they met sora...

I kinda agree on this one. they have no emotions(except the special nobodies), but they can have instincts right?

Maybe it's just when their backs are against the wall..... or maybe when they can truly feel happy.. that there true emotions come out. :/

They must have relied on memories for everything. I bet Ienzo was afraid of dying so that's why Zexion was also showing that he was afraid to die when Axel told Repliku to kill him

I semi-agree with this one. Although it would be possible, nobodies are not known to act on instinct. That's what a heartless does. I think the easiest way to explain why he (or any other nobody besides Roxas and Namine) showed fear would be through his memories.

It's emulation of emotions they once felt as a way to trick themselves into feeling more complete, and not a whole lot more.
