Last time I checked, Nintendo said they aren't going to update their DS until the DS Lite sales start slowing down.

Why would they make it multimedia? Pretty much everyone who has a DS and a PSP won't get this.

Sounds to me that DS wants to get rid of the PSP in family households.

they did say once the ds lite sale went down they would make a new one
and in one of the older game informers
They had an interview and they said the new ds would be even lighter, slimmer (since they will be removing the gameboy advance port), Better lighting, new screen, and more "powerful"

They are trying to make a PSP. Year after year, theyll keep adding functions. And theyll win. DS has more child freindly games. So, theyll win.
