Let's be fair, most of his character before DDD could be summed up as "sitting on a chair, telling people what to do in a stupidly deep voice, and fighting like a Sith when things got ugly." Or, "the Nobody of that one guy who blew up Radiant Garden." As far as I can tell, the changes are... minimal.
