Right, I didn't see a thread like this already. Thus the reason I made it. ^^

Guitar is easily the most popular instrument today, and I know that I'm not the only guitarist on this forum.

Come talk if you're just working out the difference between the Machine Heads and the Bridge, or come talk if you know everything about your guitar, how you play it and the string gauge you use.

Newbies, Experts, everything in between. Just talk about Guitars. [:

I'm interested to see what kinds of guitars other people have. Post your guitar like I have above. 8D

EDIT: Cmurder: My friend has an Epiphone LP, And for a LP copy, I can't believe how it screams!

It's really good quality. And you have an authentic Fender Strat?!
Lucky. ^^

I would love to have one as a collectors thing. [x

I'm not the greatest guitarist that ever lived, but I'm pretty decent...
I'm a great fan of Satriani, Petrucci and Vai. They got me into playing guitar as soon as I saw their version of Smoke in the Water at the G3 Jam Live in Tokyo.
That thing was glorious.

I started playing not too long ago, so I'm not planning to go way overboard just yet^

I'm actually in the process of buying this one:
Model: Ibanez ART100

Type: Electric

Color: White

Strings: [still trying to figure out which ones to buy.... any suggestions?]

Features: Mahogany Body

Maple Top set in Mahogany Neck

Rosewood Fretboard

22 Frets

ART Special Inlays

Gibraltar III Bridge with Quick Change Ultra Tailpiece

Chrome Hardware

2 x Humbuckers (ACH1 Neck and ACH2 Bridge)

*whistles* That's nice. Reminds me of the ESP Eclipse. ^^

I'm a real Ibanez boy. Perhaps it's just Japanese guitars in general, because I like ESP a lot also.

My friend and I went to a local guitar shop, and they had heaps of guitars out to play with.

I played a $8000 dollar Martin acoustic. As you could imagine, I pissed my pants. [x

Man... I want the ICHRG2 so badly.

H.R Giger, the guy who did monster and set design for the film Alien, designed a range of Ibanez guitars.

There's two versions for the Ibanez Iceman (which was my dream guitar even before I knew about this)
And there's one version for the Ibanez RG.

Sorry the picture's not too big, It's hard to find a good picture of that model.

Uhhhh David Grohl can prove you wrong Fishbox (dude, I need a nickname for you dude... I can't keep calling you that^

Oh, and yeah dude, I'm a die-hard Ibanez fan too^
I was watching the g3 concert live in Denver the other day and when Steve Vai pulled this guitar I was taken to heaven and back under pure eargasms.

I never said he couldn't drum and play guitar. I said he can't drum on a guitar.
Unless Dave Grohl has done that. Which would be cool ^^.

And nickname.. uhhh.... I got nothing. =\

I've never really had a nickname, as such. Just shorten it to Fish or something. ^^

My dad went to a 'Zappa plays Zappa' concert. It was Frank Zappa's son playing covers of Franks songs.
And Steve Vai was there as a special appearance.

I remember dad calling me, then putting his phone on loud speaker so I could hear Steve Vai do some soloing.

I can also remember almost crying out of envy. ;-;

i've been playing for about 8 months now (that does not mean i'm a noob at playing guitar- i know my shit and i actually am really good for the amount of time i've been playing).

i have:

-1 ibanez RG42DXFM (lavender)- tuned down 1 whole step with 11's (d'addario) on it- DiMarzio Evolution pickups
-1 musicman john petrucci 2006 limited edition (blue)- standard tuning with 9's (ernie ball super slinky) on it- DiMarzio Dsonic pickup in bridge and custom pickup (air norton) in neck
- 1 engl screamer 50 amp
- 1 BOSS metalcore pedal
- 1 DS-1 distortion pedal
- 1 Ibanez TS-9 Tubescreamer (i don't have it yet, i do plan on getting it though- i need a good overdrive pedal)
- 1 TC Electronics G-Major guitar effects processor

i have a lot of influences (WAY too many to list) ,mainly petrucci and vai.

i like to challenge myself, so i play mostly dream theater tunes (of course)

Awesome. I was able to pick up guitar pretty easily as well. I've been playing for about.... a year and a half I think. I'm also self-taught, so I'm really proud of how far I've come.

I like to challenge myself as well. That's why I'm teaching myself 'Canon Rock' by JerryC.

God..... That song's hard to play.... But It's awesome

I have no money D:. I've been playing for about a year. The hardest thing I can play is Kissing the Shadows by Children of Bodom, entire song including solo, along with most of The Glass Prison by Dream Theater. I play a lot, but I have shitty equipment =[

*is impressed*

Right, I've discovered that Canon Rock is way way way beyond my skill level. xD

I'm gonna keep that as a side thing.....

Anyway, who here has PowerTab? It's useful... Better than just getting ordinary tabs.

I haven't picked up my guitar much since the fall. Once I had basketball tryouts, I didn't have much time to play. however, I did teach myself a few songs the past few weeks.
