Really Short Stories and Images In 100 Words Or Less

She used to jump over puddles.

The rainwater would splash, and often, a smatter of mud would appear on the red galoshes she wore. When she jumped over those puddles, she flew, as one flies high in the sky, without any inhibition, or fear; a feeling of vertigo that surpassed the eagles.

Uh... are we ALSO supposed a fifty-word story in response?

One time, I was walking down a street and Ronald McDonald came up and said "RAN RAN RUUU!!" and did his little arm dance thing. "Pokey Neans Business" from Earthbound began to play, he sang along, got all deformed, and I promptly died.

Uh here let's go REALLY BIG and only use 7 words:

"I love you."

"I loved you too."

He held his gun to the temple of a man's head. The man's voice shook as he spoke.

"Who are you?"

The response came short and quick.

"I'm not."

They found him the next morning. He was dead in front of a mirror with a gun in his hand.

Only the stories themselves are restricted to or around 50 words. If you want to make it more fun, you can team for a longer story. Another:

Her new house had a fireplace. She never used it. The logs remained untouched, ornamental. In her childhood, when the bombs dropped, many hid in the cellars. Until troops used flamethrowers to flush out the enemy.

Only children and women there.

The men had all perished on the battlefield.

In Oklahoma, there once stood a miserable, ugly little shack, complete with a feral dog and nasty old refrigerator on the lawn.
Inside, lived an equally miserable and ugly man whose name nobody remembers. One day, he bumped into the refrigerator, fell, and was eaten alive by his wretched dog.

It isn't very wholesome, but fifty words can only accomplish so much.

Then the one who so loved the world came to the world. He taught the joys of carpentry and fishing and other things besides. But these were misunderstood, and so the one who so loved the world died for the world, and his kind has not been seen again.

I hope originality is not a requirement.

This one is excellent, because it could not be told better in more words.

I'm inhaling the smell of you in the same way that an addict takes a drag on a cigarette; my lungs are full and my throat is burning, but at the same time I'm feeling a bit of euphoria swirl around and in me.

You smell like vanilla and lavender.

The Fairy Hunter

A young boy walks through a field of grass nearly as tall as him, toward a ridge of deep purple mountains. In one hand he holds a lantern, in the other a net. He has heard the old men say that fairies live on the other side of those mountains.

Just an image. The format of such short stories reminds me somewhat of Akira Kurosawa's "Dreams", if anyone has seen those.

Ah, this looks fun. =D

She was a painter.

She painted to amuse people, she painted to put smiles on their faces, she painted to show the world the wonder and magic of canvases and acrylics.

And most importantly, she painted so she could momentarily free herself from her heartbreak.

The girl sat back and looked at her blood-stained reflection. She was a killer now, and nothing could save her from the guilt of killing her sister. She had done it. The knife in the sink proved that. She just had one question: could she be redeemed?

La mer est bleue et claire,
et pleine des petits bateaux.
Sur le sable s'assied une paire
portant des vieux manteaux.

The sea is clear and blue,
and filled with tiny boats.
Upon the beach sit two
wearing their aged coats.

"Marluxia, Marluxia," I said skipping down the street. "Will you marry me?"

Marluxia looked at me and said, "Stop stalking me!"

I lie in bed as I look at you.

"How are you today, my love?" I asked you.

You didn't answer.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?"

Still no reply.

"It's alright, my dear. You can tell me anything."

You wouldn't tell me.

"Please, my love. I'm always here for you."

You kept silent.

Tears filled my eyes. "If you're sad or hurt, please talk with me. I want to comfort you."

You still didn't answer.

You still couldn't answer.

I took your picture off the nightstand and held it tightly against my chest.

My tears poured out freely, as you dangle from the ceiling.
