Would it be a stretch for them to surprise us with a new world without an announcement from Nomura?

Hello, Insiders.

So I was thinking about the possibility for March's JP story update. Saw a brief discussion on it as well. I don't play JP but I've been more or less following the gist of what each of the updates are (though I haven't completely watched them in their entirety, just the parts I wanted to know).

I would imagine (and you can correct me if I'm wrong) usually unless there's some kind of announcement, or unless the previous update made it clear, there's *no* way to tell for sure what the next story update in JP will be centered on or where it will be set, correct?

So IIRC (and again, correct me if I'm wrong), all the Disney world sagas are finished in accordance with how they finished in Chi (including Agrabah, even though it apparently didn't have a title screen?), but the main story left off at the "Seeds of Hope" scene and still has yet to 'diverge' and we are uncertain when that will happen, correct?

So the logical conclusion would be that we could either get more filler, more main story, or... one of the remaining two new Disney worlds which have yet to be revealed (or on the off chance more Agrabah).

For some reason most seem to be assuming that last option (a new world), and not sure if this is based on anything. But the thing is... usually when there is something like a new world coming, Nomura gives us a heads up and advertises/hypes it. Like all the promotion Castle of Dreams got before October.

Surely this also happened in Beast's Castle? Wasn't really following then. But it's the same as the other KH titles, all Disney worlds are revealed somehow in trailers and magazines prior to release. IIRC they've never 'withheld' a Disney world up until the release.

Or... have they?

So does it seem plausible that they would throw in a new world that we literally will have no idea about until the update hits? Seems like a stretch, especially if it's a world brand new to the KH series (which this game is supposed to have apparently). Would seem strange playing it without Nomura ever having advertised or hyped it up or announced it.

I mean there's still maybe a couple weeks for that to happen. If a new world is next should we be anticipating an announcement?

You'd think that there would be an announcement soon, right? I would expect something 3 days beforehand, he usually doesn't do this stuff too far in advance, usually if it's something like this he'll announce it 3 days to a week or two in advance. I would expect something if the next update is a new world, definitely keep your eyes peeled :D

Castle of Dreams was way more than three days in advance, wasn't it like a whole month almost?

I guess you're right, maybe I'm mis-remembering the announcements up to this point? I don't remember most of them being extremely far in advance, although the world announcements might be longer then I originally anticipated.

Also, I like how you addressed the community as insiders at the start of your post xD

I don't think we'll be getting the new world for quite a while; we're due a main story update, and they'd probably do a few filler quests after that. They announced Beast's Castle at D23 in Tokyo, so it wouldn't surprise me if they announced the new world at an event, most likely E3.

I don't know about that long. They don't necessarily need an event for this announcement - the Castle of Dreams was announced out of the blue, no? We found out about it in September shortly after Chi ended.

Agrabah may not be done since it's yet to feature the princess who's the reason that world was in the game to begin with.

For the new Disney world, I really want it to be exclusive to Unchained X. Something like The Prince and the Pauper or The Sword in the Stone. They're both Fairytale worlds, but neither would be in demand for Kingdom Hearts III.
