I've been seing commercials for this film lately and all i have to say is "Is it really necessary?"

what do you all think? It can't be that god awful of a film (cause Nicolas Cage pwns hard), but still, i doubt i will see it.

and i'm not saying thats its sacred and should be left untouched, and i'm not saying "i hate america, forget it ever happened!" I'm saying that the idea of a movie about it is kinda stupid...pretty soon, we'll be seing trailers for "Katrina:The Movie"

and just because "Snakes on a Plane" works, doesn't mean every screenplay writer can slack off on titles.

Actually, Snakes on a Plane was left as the title at Samuel L. Jackson's request, as was teh line 'We got mother****ing snakes on the mother****ing plane!'. The film's officially transcended from the horror genre into comedy, even though no one's willing to admit it.

WTC, on the other hand, seems much like Ladder 49 in the sense that it's trying to display the horrors of working on the site of a catastrophe, which is actually a noble endevor. Flight 93 did it by showing the perspective of the people monitering the situation, as well as the experiance of those held captive on the plane, which made for an amazing film.

I may see it, I'm not really a fan of this sort of movie, to be honest, because of Nicolas Cage (Lord of War, ftw), but it seems as though it's a film that had to have been made.

Don't say that. Don't say 'this looks bad. leik, reel bad.', give me reasons. What looks bad? Why should this movie never have been made? Why are you being so presumptuous of a film that hasn't even been released yet?

When I looked at the trailer, I feel kind of scared. Why? I feeling of it is creepy and IMO its too soon. Love Nicoles Cage(National Treasure FTW!!) and all but this movie will be extremely sensitive just like Flight 93. It has its good points about bravery and survival yet its hard to see and remember that tragic day was.

The word you're looking for is zeal. The dogma of the terrorists led them to believe that they needed to kill countless people in the name of their lord to gain acceptance into heaven, so they complied. If anything, it was gullibility that drove them, along with social pressure.

I wouldn't call them stupid for doing what they have, definatly not...
