( Okay Wolfe, you and I both know the terms, but let me just put them here as a reminder:

-Death blows will be impossible, so don't worry about it.

-We go as hard as we can from the beginning, don't hold back, but try to keep it in character. Use what fits their personality and when they use it.

(Location: Valley of the End at sunset, closing in on darkness.)

Template:

Name: Yahiko Watanabe

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Personality: Yahiko is an all-around fun guy to spend time with, mainly due to his nonchalant nature. Rare is it to see someone such as him take things too seriously, unless they cross his sense of fairness and justice. He’s positive, likes sweets, and enjoys good company with friends and even enemies if they find time to put the weapon down and just have a good meal with him. Yahiko can act so careless about arguments, tasks, and confrontations that sometimes he acts without even realizing it. A simple crouch to the ground can be an attack.

Oblivious. Sometimes he is so out of tune with the world, that his actions can result in trouble for others. The only thing he can’t ignore is visible pain and agony, that poses a bit of difficulty for even a clown like him to ignore. Despite his shortcomings, Yahiko is fully aware of everything around him more than one would believe. Regardless of his careless appearance, Yahiko is capable of caring, but sometimes he finds it easier and a lot less stressful not to show any sign of caring, unless, once again, those matters conflict with his personal feelings.

Appearance: Yahiko stands at 5’11 with a very light tan skin tone and dark brown hair, messy and falling down past his cheeks, minus just around his eyes, only extending to his eyebrows. His eyes are a hazel color and are full of excitement and childish joy. His build is athletic, having the lean muscle for quick and precise movements, and enough strength to handle himself well in a hand to hand situation. Yahiko wears a white robe that hands low, just below his knee caps, with long sleeves that stop just as his wrist. The Kanji symbol for ‘Strength’ is on the back, painted in red, and the collar of the robe is black. His pants are loose and suit an era long since past, not having a button, but moreso a string bound around the waist to keep it snug and close, able to be loosened and tightened freely. Below that are rather simple Japanese Geta, with Yahiko keeping white socks around his feet to avoid discomfort. He loves getting his feet a little dirty.

Within his pocket’s he carries a black headband, though the reason for this is unknown. He seems to take it out only when he feels the need to do it.

Weapon - Mikomi or “Hope” is a single-blade Katana with a distinct red handle and a black guard, the blade no color but an ordinary appearing steel. The sheath is entirely black itself and has a string tied around it with two small beads at the end, one red, and the other blue. Both shine strongly in the sun, and glow magnificently in the moon, but as of now seem to hold no special powers between them. The origin of the weapon is anyone’s guess, but having received it from his grandfather, Yahiko figured it was a family treasure or heirloom. It is noted that the blade never dulls or suffers from rust due to neglect, and it is pure from appearance, clearly not made of any resource that one could merely guess. It was forged long ago, not by man, but perhaps something else. How it came to his families possession is anyone’s guess.

Along with the ability to never dull and become worn, Mikomi is capable of revolving and storing energy of any physical or spiritual source and containing it, and rotating it. Containment difficulty varies on the energy it attracts to its blade, but rotation is entirely different. Using a small projected field around the blade by its own spiritual power, it may use the transparent force expelled to create a magnetic field around itself, drawing in all things magical and dangerous. In other words, thing’s that one wouldn’t call ‘normal’ in an average world. However, storage is tricky and can rarely be kept within forever.

The same field that uses magnetism can also be used as a wide extension, not only making a forever sharpened blade sharper, but making the range on it unpredictable. It can become paper thin itself, and slice through a physical or spiritual property with fair ease, however, Mikomi is yet to manage both at once, so it may only do one at a time.

If that weren’t enough, Mikomi is more than a blade itself, it actually doubles as a home these days…

Powers -

Extensive Scope: Yahiko’s eyes taking on a very distinct shade of maroon, enabling him to see what the naked eye cannot, large or small, spiritual or physical. With a lot of training put into catching the flow of movement and reflection, he has come to move his eyes viciously, to the point where they can hardly be traced. Not only does this help him keep good track of an enemies movements, but it also serves in adding confusion, not hinting them to where he’ll plan to strike at next. He doesn’t normally keep it on often, but a side effect of having this adds to a sort of ‘bullet time’ feature. What his eyes read can be broken down to a mere fraction of a second before he acts himself. He prides himself on his vision, and thinks no one in the world has anything like it.

Transparent Blink: With help from Mikomi, Yahiko is able to bring himself to a far plane, leaving the physical reality of this world and leaving an untouchable part of himself visible. This can only be used for so long, as abusing this power for too long will make it much more difficult to return to the physical plane. While it gives him an advantage to ignore basic attacks, it also means he cannot attack normally in these conditions. With himself untouched, that makes the opponent untouched as well. He has come to bring this technique to a ‘blink’ stage, meaning it can be executed so fast that even blinking will make it so you lose a clash with him. He can go on the defensive for but a moment, and return on the offensive within a second of time.

Ozone Slice: Drawing his blade quickly, Yahiko may slice his blade across the air so quickly that the space he cuts is sent forward with his own strength, simulating a projectile blade that tears through nearly any object or attack until it slowly breaks apart and ends. The slice is capable of cutting through steel and cement with relative ease, and can be guarded against, at the cost of a weapon or armor’s durability of course. The weapon or shield has to have a material or magical power to really have a chance of remaining in one piece.

The Next Life: Drawing upon one’s own chi, Yahiko has found a way to transport more than himself to the plane he visits in the Transparent Blink. The world there is light and heavy at the same time, and it takes more than physical prowess to achieve total body excellence in this space. The air can be harder to draw in, and while your physical body isn’t in this space, it takes toll on one’s own spirit, making the burden placed upon the spiritual manifestation taken a heavy one. Even leaving this space, you can feel the exhaustion, because it comes and hits your very soul itself, leaving a draining, heavy exhaustion that can last for days without the training in that area. So far, Yahiko can manage only ten minutes in that space, and that was with a year’s worth of training with it.

Activation isn’t too fancy, but he must muster his own spiritual energy within either his blade, or his sheath (normally his sheath) and make contact with the enemies weapon or body, and after the connection is met, his own spirit takes hold upon another’s own, causing paralysis of the body and locking them up for a short period of time in the position they were left in. Now, this is the ideal time to kill someone, but Yahiko isn’t the type to do such a thing. This technique is used to kill one in peace, or severely weaken them internally.

With the enemy paralyzed, all he must do is touch them, and then, he brings himself out from his own body and to the far plane. It is there that the fight should be decided by either death, or a K.O.

He can pull himself out whenever he so chooses, but in turn, he loses his connection with his opponent and has them return to the physical plane as well. Damage sustained in that field remains.

The far plane is not your average walk in the park and -does- take a lasting toll. Those who have never trained the very spirit and soul they have will find themselves at a very obvious disadvantage. Not completely powerless, but they will end up in his own playing field.

Soul Scatter: Mikomi’s own potent strength and spiritual prowess is channeled through Yahiko’s own body, his precision and awareness increased dramatically. His speed and strength remain about the same, although the draw of his blade and the actions he makes allows his swinging speed to be vastly quicker than before. Movement however, isn’t increased. This would be the ideal time to run, if you were a coward. The first thing you’ll notice about this technique is that Mikomi’s blade changes to a bright hue of red, and a rippling energy leaves both the blade, and Yahiko’s body itself, giving him a visible and almost frightening aura. Its extension depends on how seriously the fight will be taken. Another thing is his eyes. Naturally, extensive Scope should be active, though his eyes are much more glossy, as if he was about to cry.

Mikomi is capable of going through an enemy entirely, but weapons work differently. Through the body however, Mikomi can use Transparent Blink freely herself, allowing the wielder to use her to run right through an enemy. This does no internal damage to the organs or draws no blood, but without the transparency, it will slice clean through some of the hardest materials ever to exist, magical barriers included. Using Blink on herself though and in this state, it allows her to cut through ones own spirit and soul. For instance, say she cut through the arm of an opponent. The opponent would feel as though his arm was torn from his body, bone and all, and it would still feel present. However, despite it not appearing the same, it will still feel the very same.

If not serious, the limb or part in question, say the neck, will go numb and not respond to commands the brain itself gives to the body, thus losing control. This effect can last anywhere from an hour, to a few days or even a week, once again depending on Yahiko’s own desire to get serious.

Name – Ui Kurokami
Age – 17
Gender – Female

Appearance

Standing at a cutesy 5’8’’ Ui has long brown hair with a rainbow of colors streaking through her hair. Streaks of purple, red, blue, and green color her hair, the green is a lot more prominent than the red, blue and purple indicating that this is a new addition. Ui has a face of innocence, her caramel toned skin, that cute smile, and those deep hazel eyes. Her hair falls to the middle of her back, about a few inches above and opposite of her naval, but a slight fringe exists partially covering her forehead. Her delicate features suggest a pampered life, although her scars on her hands and arms suggested a harden life as well. Contradiction after contradiction. Her facial features are rounded out and resemble a sweet girl.

She maintains a formal aura of confidence. Whether she is dancing, cleaning her katana, or just eating on some jelly-donut her ramrod back never falters. Her clothing is casual and quickly put together suggesting a messy type of girl. She wears a wrinkled white blouse with golden buttons adorning the clothing; the buttons aren’t fixed in the proper places leaving an unmatched shirt revealing her undergarment underneath. The sleeves appear too large for her as her hands fits cozily within her sleeves. Her white cargo pants are adorned with pockets and keychains! She has several keychains on her pants, one of her favorites happens to be one that resembles a cat’s head with a bow on its ear. The others are a bit more unorthodox including a keychain of a stalk of broccoli, one was a dragon’s head, one was the pentagon’s thief, and another was the Japanese character for “Nothingness”.

Personality

Cutesy and almost ditzy. She has a habit of tripping over her own two feet and staring off into space. She likes to smile and talk about cute things like puppies and kitties and that new zombie flick. Yet while Ui seems like a socially competent person she never seems to stick with the friends she makes, she even goes out of her way to remember their names. Ui seems fiercely loyal to her commanding officers and appears to have no problem with a few causalities, double-crossings and back-stabbing, this is what the world has been reduced to, she finds it her playground!

Ui appears to be a bit psychotic if one were to go as far when describing her. She has a tendency of engaging in odd activities such as randomly eating after an assignment, or even playing chess with herself on occasions. Ui also seems to have a near endless appetite, despite her thin stature she eats quite a bit of food, according to Ui because of her hyperactive body and the aftermath of her strenuous training that she requires 3x more energy than a normal person – so she claims. Ui seems to take her job seriously and even enjoys assassinating targets and even finds pleasure in murdering people, she appears indifferent to witnessing death or even suffering pain.

Weapons –

匿名; Tokumeki

Tokumeki is a sword that is as much as an enigma as the owner. Ui rarely speaks of how she acquired the sword and whenever she does it is ordinarily far-fetched: sometimes she mentions that she got the sword from a wandering elder that gave it to her after she had killed off the local militia, other times she claims that her father had forged the sword and that it is quite different from regular swords in that magic was infused within its steel. It is difficult to pinpoint truth from those stories but the sword itself is most definitely different from ordinary ones. For one the blade of Tokumeki is straight in contrast to the wavy patterns most katanas take also this sword was used for slicing rather than hacking as most straight swords may do.

The blade itself is a nightmarish black with a purple hilt, the sheath is black and red with circular designs running through it. Ui claims that this sword has magical properties since it was “infused with magic when being forged,” – as she said – but so far there is no physical distinction between her sword and another. Whenever Ui uses the sword it is often heard not seen. In a true assassin fashion Ui is an expert with her sword but rarely ever completely unsheathes it, utilizing her natural ability and speed with the sword her subsonic lai she can quickly draw, attack, and sheath her blade without being seen. This is not, however, an example of superhuman speed, her lai follows Ui’s personal philosophy of speed and is more about being unseen rather than being faster.

Ui has rarely fought against an opponent that was able to not only see her lai but deflect the attack, to grace their ability Ui willingly draws her sword and faces them head on.

Along with Tokumeki Ui carries several other weapons that range from shuriken to kunai to even hidden blades; however she only carries those additional weapons if she is bound to face a large amount of targets, she doesn’t carry them on a day-to-day basis. Unlike those weapons, however, Ui does carry Tokumeki everywhere she goes but often wraps it in a covering so she doesn’t cause a panic.

Powers

Rokushiki

Tekkai –

Ui is able to freely manipulate the very structure of her own body so that her physical properties changes to accustom her needs. This is a rather one-sided technique since she is only able to use this ability to accomplish one task. With Tekkai she is essentially able to physically harden her body to mimic the properties of diamonds. Essentially with Tekkai she would be able to deflect any physical attack with relative ease. To this day she hasn’t been attacked with something that could penetrate past her Tekkai. However when Tekkai is in use she is unable to move considering her mass would increase to twice its original weight, she can somewhat bypass this with Soru but her control decreases since more power is needed to compensate for her additional weight.

Rankyaku-

Ui is able to generate a profuse amount of energy and by centering it around her legs she is able to, essentially, “kick” off the energy so it would produce an energy projectile akin to an “air-blade” capable of slicing through brick buildings easily. Since the “air-blade” is simply the result of a shockwave produced by the energy in her legs vibrating from the kicking motion creates the air-blade. It isn’t an energy blast more like repulsing the air to create a shockwave of sorts; the only real way to deflect it would perhaps be dispelling the air pressure.

Ui takes pride in her ability of Rankyaku – according to her this is her favorite ability – and is known for being quite fast while using it.

Soru –

This works off the principles of Rankyaku but there are gaping differences between the two. She gathers physical energy to the soles of her feet and from there she uses that energy to cause her feet to vibrate, in the fashion Rankyaku operates, and it uses that vibration to very much literally push off the ground and cause a propelling motion. This motion in turn creates the similar air pressure that Rankyaku provides but instead of producing a projectile it propels Ui forward. The propulsion itself isn’t fast but what makes Ui near untraceable is how she utilizes the propulsion. Her philosophy about speed isn’t being faster than your opponent it is simply being unseen by your opponent.

“You can be as fast as you want but as long as your opponent can still track you all of that speed won’t matter in the long run; you can be the slowest person in the world but still be as untraceable as an assassin if you work at it.”

Rather than fly around being the fastest thing to trek the ground she uses Soru to be difficult to track. As she says someone can be extremely fast when sprinting, but that doesn’t make him invisible, the human eye is still able to keep up with him since the motion created by his movements is still traceable. With soru she moves past being fast with linear movement to instead being faster with nonlinear movements.

A fly isn’t exactly fast but it is difficult to keep an eye on since it darts around here and there. Why is that? Simple! It changes direction being highly difficult to track. With soru she is able to utilize nonlinear movements and move about in a speedy matter without being detection and without the exertion of excess energy. You see in the process of using soru she stabilizes the energy centered on the soles of her feet and in mid-propulsion she diverts the energy so it surrounds her entire body. With that energy she is able to move more fluidly and easily so in the process of kicking off the ground she moves and twists her body so it would undetectable. It isn’t about being faster than the opponent; it is simply being untouchable by them.

Nikyu –

Utilizing her hands she is able to center physical energy on the palms of her hands and effectively use that to create a new technique. Essentially if one were to think about it the techniques of Rokushiki utilizes the physical energy a human body were to hold, if one were to train their bodies enough they could achieve superhuman qualities however it isn’t the technique that makes up the person it is the mastery of that technique. Rokushiki is the collaborative creation of multiple techniques derived from one: Nikyu.

With Nikyu she is able to “repel” the air in front of her palms to produce a shockwave in the form of a semitransparent sphere. This shockwave travels at the speed of the gust of wind and in all honesty isn’t difficult to avoid or even deflect however one should tread lightly if faced with Nikyu. The mere notion of air being a dangerous force against such elements like lightning or fire is almost laughable absurd. This shockwave can very much literally pierce virtually anything. Since the shockwave holds no real tangible body to travel think of it as a compressed tornado, such a large force encased in such a small form that is the shockwave is almost terrifying to think about. Whenever the shockwave passes through a tangible body it doesn’t leave any physical evidence of trauma, except an impression that resembles a sphere, but causes physical damage. Funny, isn’t it?

In essence with Nikyu, Ui repels the air in front of her to create a shockwave that can travel at extremely high speeds that can travel through practically anything and tear it up from the inside; Nikyu leaves an impression – even within rocks – of a sphere which can even be left on human bodies.

Nanba Hashiri -

Not necessarily a special supernatural technique and definitely not a part of Rokushiki either. It is a method of running utilized by the samurais of the days of yore. Nanba Hashiri isn't as difficult as one may make it out to be - considering with Ui's personal training and enhanced physical attributes she pushes Nanba Hashiri to the limits. It is rather simple actually, one walks using their arms and legs at the same time without losing the undulation that comes from the body she effectively uses less energy and moves quicker than if she were to run normally. Utilizing her personal physical augmentation, however, she can move at superhuman speeds at top speed, combination with Rokushiki's Soru she can become nearly invisible.

"To think, doing this was just a thought about 10 years ago"

The newlywed couple stood close beside each other, looking off towards the waterfall that crashed against the valley's liquid surface. Even when they were young and hardly knew what a marriage really meant, they always talked about what the honeymoon would involve. This was it. A battle between the two to see how far they've come together, and with a little aid from Mikomi, neither were going to get punctured or sliced apart by the other. Ui Kurokami, or potentially Ui Watanabe if she chose to take his name, had taken the blue gem, one of two that Mikomi's sheath had been dangling from, right around the center area. Section III had, and without much choice from either of them, allowed them to spend a couple weeks for just each other.

This Valley was miles and miles away from Arcadia, honoring two men who were famed for their strength and the glory they had achieved. They were enemies, of course. While no one remembers their true names, stories of their accomplishments still go around, allowing parents and elders to put their own twist on the kind of people they were. Honorable, savage, heartless, any could be used to describe them, since no one remembered their names any longer. There wasn't much history behind this place, but, it was not only to praise these men for whatever reason, it was also because it was said that they fought here, and the battle created the valley itself.

Yahiko gripped his lovers hand tightly, his right hand just behind him resting on Mikomi's handle. Looking from the waterfall and towards her, he slowly came in front of her, releasing her hand and bringing the arm around her, hugging her closely. It may just seem like another spar between them, but they had promised not to hold anything back as they saw fit. The loser, was the one who couldn't battle any more, and these two weren't ones to give up so easily. In other words, never.

His right cheek against her own, he held it tightly for ten seconds, and then freed her from it.

"Give it all you've got, 'honey'." Wow, it felt sort of weird referring to her as that. Maybe he'd save that for the middles ages.

"You ready for this?"

Ui nodded affirmatively, she puffed out her chest and extended her arm in a proud salute it seemed. "Of course I am ready Yacchi, I spent last night watching nine hours of samurai movies!" Ui had this air of confidence about her and she seemed rather proud about what she just admitted right there, her naivety knew no bounds because as a proud swordsman she had studied the warriors of the past and learned from there. She knew how hollywoodized the samurai films were but still she maintain that confident look on her face as if she learned a special move from watching those cheesy films.

Ui sheepishly and shamelessly grinned apparently unfazed by how silly she sounded, she calmly stepped back and quietly and efficiently began to do stretches. Thankfully in this desolate location no one would be able to see this embarrassment, Ui was clad in a plain white shirt with a chainmail vest underneath with a short blue skirt, the stretches she was doing with her legs were more or less.... flattering I supposed would be the more appropriate term. Ui counted silently as she stretched out her legs and she recalled memories of simpler time.

"No, that isn't good enough!" A six year old Ui said her pure brown hair was void of any blemishes caused by sporadic dyeing or anything of the sort, Yahiko had been making promises to Ui to marry her when they got older but Ui wasn't one to be satisfied so easily. Although she never really got the concept of marriage - even at this age - she heard ladies talk about it and say how much they loved their respective husbands and Ui figured since she loved Yahiko that they should do it too!

After much coaxing Ui had Yahiko exhausted, no one can't blame him either. Little Yahiko was standing on one hand and with his other outstretched holding Ui's hand as he wore Ui's shirt - leaving her bare - and promising for the 200th time today while balancing a cup of water with his feet. Ui was satisfied but more so since she was getting cold standing there half-nude.

She had finished her stretches and for good measure stretched her entire body, much like a cat, to get the weariness out of it. Fixing her sword so that it was held properly over her shoulder Ui had a feeling that moving at her top speed wouldn't be good for her body or sword. Ui rarely trained using her top speed but in order to keep her speed honed she would often move at her top speeds for about 2 hours a day.

Finally finished Ui undid her ponytail and let her hair fall over her eyes, "Readyy~"

(Posting at school, won't be top notch bud, then again you think everything I do is epic. *Hugs*)

Its funny because she really did do that last night...true story.

Not surprising. She's pumped, so am I.

But isn't this an odd way to spend a honeymoon? Just fighting each other? Shouldn't there be cuddling and kissing and talks about the future and perhaps planning to start a family?

You should know we're a different breed by now Mikomi.

Yeah but I can dream ..I used to be a writer you know.

How can I forget, you never stop mentioning it every time you want us to do something erotic.

Then make this very entertaining.

Ui was wrapping up her stretches, some of it suggestive and good material for Mikomi's little writing fantasy, and Yahiko will admit he did admire her flexibility among other things Ui displayed to him at a constant. It was never a dull moment with Ui around. While his eyes ran along her, he took a couple slow steps backwards, first with his left, and then with his right. Ending up with his right foot angled towards his left, Yahiko kept a hand onto Mikomi's handle and waited, rather relaxed, for Ui to finish.

"Readyy~"

At the very end of her cutesy word, Yahiko drew Mikomi and within almost half a second, Mikomi's handle end was already at his left shoulder. Having taken consideration towards a direct blow, he had decided against it, knowing he probably shouldn't have. Mikomi's gems allowed their attacks to be lessened considerably when it came to physical damage, as well as spiritual, but there was still that side of him that just wanted to tease her. Thoughts of splashing each other back in their childhood came to him, Ui would usually instigate it whenever he was focused on getting clean so much. Ui considered everything a form of 'play time' and a bath was no different.

Back to the fighting...

He had thrown an Ozone Slice with Mikomi's more blunt end, aiming just an inch from her toes and having the water sink from the precise sort of impact he wanted. If Ui didn't dodge and, if she did, he'd always be impressed with her speed even if his drawing techniques were already impressive, the water she stood on with him would sink for a moment, and then rise up quickly and generate a wave of sorts to throw her off her feet and backwards.

Ui fell back into the attack. Her rigorous often dictated the philosophy of not avoiding the attack but allowing the flow of the attack to be interrupted and let the attack avoid her instead. Leaping back Ui's body rhythmically became detached and trance-like, it dropped into a fluid yet solid position that was both hypnotic yet devastatingly beautiful all at the same time. Utilizing her subsonic eye and a trained eye Ui sliced at the air precisely and deliberately. The Ozone Slice that Yahiko had so gracefully delivered earlier launched itself at Ui but rather than go for an immediate attack it wavered momentarily and separated at Ui's feet - or at least where her feet would be if she were still standing there - and deviated chaotically to the right.

Ui had surgically displaced Yahiko's attack with one of her own, it was difficult yet impressive altogether. By utilizing her subsonic lai Ui had attacked, a total of 47 times in 1.3 seconds, right at the flow in which the Ozone Strike had inhabited. Or in layman's term it hit the area the Ozone Strike was going to hit. By displacing the general area of the attack the strike itself was deviated from its original path and yet the water had reacted and wavered just as the strike intended to do. Ui just wanted to move it aside a little bit since she wanted to do a little something with it.

Ui was till falling back but the water had lurched forward and exploded suddenly as Ui disappeared from sight only to reappear to the immediate right, then to to immediate left, then above, then a few meters back from her original position. Ui was circling the area in a hellish frenzy and the water had reacted accordingly. The water slammed through the air and in a nightmarish dance seemed to possess a mind of its own as the water had conglomerated together to form a massive wall of liquid and it crashed over to where Yahiko was.

That wasn't even the initial intent. In the chaos that was produced from the water movements Ui had deliberately thrown off a few deadly arcs of Rankyakus towards Yahiko using a shotgun precision of randomly trajectories and arcs. Moments before the wall of water could crash into the earth it exploded in two as a powerful sword struck through it from above, approximately at a 90 degree angle, then as it crashed Ui used her full speed to charge Yahiko to deliver a simple palm strike to the jaw. If left untouched the strike could be devastating, at the speeds she was going it could not only shatter her own bones but Yahiko's as well. Mikomi's interference however should leave them both unscathed.

Feels weird being on the receiving end of her fury! Is this the fear she gave her opponents!?

Yahiko was not afraid of his wife, but moreso excited to see what else she would do. The each of them were aware of their strengths, and also many weaknesses. With the knowledge they had, this fight could rage on for a long time, or end within moments of beginning. While Ui had her speed, Yahiko had his precision. The question was, would it be the agility of hers to prevail, or his own accurate attacks to counter hers? The displacement of his Slice wasn't expected but it was certainly skillful. It had made him a little irritated that she could do such a thing to one of his own attacks like it was nothing to her. Still, the plan worked, and the water rose against her.

He was certain it would crash down on her, but his lover had something else in mind. Utilizing her inhuman speed and running circles around that mass of water, she was placing it under her own control, sending it back towards him instead. "Always the crafty type!" standing his ground on the cool water's surface, Yahiko was prepared to draw his blade and make quick work of this wall of water. Bringing his right hand around his back, he gripped the handle of Mikomi and stood prepared for what would come next. The shotgun-effect came as an immediate surprise, but due to his red-tinted eyes, his Extensive Scope, he was better able to react than he normally could. Time seemed to give him more time than usual to react, breaking down the attack's path and, counting the attacks velocity and general make-up, Yahiko drew his blade so quickly, rare could a normal eye see it. Most of them had missed and only collided around him, but at least two were careening right for him.

With no visible movement to an untrained eye, Yahiko had never moved, and not even he chose to calculate how fast his slice was. However, the strikes that came towards him, broke in half and moved opposite of each other, either crashing into the water's surface, or hitting the cliff's behind him, leaving him unharmed. He was in his original position and, keeping a close eye on the wall of water, was only half-surprised to find it split at a 90 degree angle. Ui had come next, using all the speed she had to charge him with her palm. His eyes were able to break the attack down before it was too late, and with the palm outstretched, he had enough time to formulate a plan in that split second Extensive Scope gave him.

In a very slow and precise set of movements that would be very, very fast in real time, enough to match Ui's speed, Yahiko leaned his torso towards the right, as well as his neck and head, and was able to avoid Ui's strike to his jaw with room to spare. With his jaw spared of her attack, he rose his left knee up and was going to allow her to run into it herself. If it was able to connect with Ui as she ran at him with her full speed, it would not only leave a very painful bruise to her gut, but it would rid her of immediate air and should send her crashing back into the water. However, it would also throw Yahiko back a good distance as well, and have him spin violently across the waters surface, and likely against the rocky cliff's behind him.

Her feet rose from the ground for a millisecond. Blazing through the air Ui's mind worked at hyper speed only able to read his pattern mere nanoseconds before it actually connected. Her body felt the familiar overwhelming sensation of resolute power washing over it. Hardening at a molecular level she literally floated through the air like a truck running through someone at top speed. Tekkai!

It wasn't fast enough. By the time her body was completely hardened she had already found purchase against his knee. Her unprotected arms were left away from Tekkai's grasp, they jolted violently as they snapped forward at the sudden motion. Her arms lost feeling from the sudden motion, Ui cursed herself. Even though this fight was sorta watered down from normal circumstances she nearly tore her arms from her sockets with that jerking motion. Yahiko's leg would be fine however, normally slamming into Ui's hardened body while Tekkai was active was suicide and a deathly guarantee for losing whatever limb you connected to her body. But moving at blinding speeds like that while activating Tekkai served well to slow her momentum drastically. And taking in consideration Ui's sudden disconnection to the ground it would be easy to see how power was lost in Tekkai.

Tekkai worked best when Ui's feet were planted firmly in the ground. This goes back to basic Chinese kempo. Strikes are weakened when they are made in mid-air since they don't have the necessary power granted from the earth to empower them. This worked the same with Tekkai if she is in mid-air all of the power drawn from the earth was lost so hitting her while it was active would be the equivalent of hitting a brick wall at full strength. Still that's pretty bad. But considering this battle has watered down their strength the power from that attack was weakened severely so Yahiko would only experience a bounce-back from her Tekkai.

Ui fell back as well and rolled into a crouch. Her left arm tingled as it regained feeling but her right arm still felt numb. She felt her arm and an arc of fire burned on her arm, crap, she dislocated her arm. It didn't hurt thanks to Mikomi's affects but that didn't mean it was exactly good for her to have her arm in this state. Ui's leg was a blur as bright blue air-blades shot out from her leg and sighted Yahiko. Rankyaku: Lupis Rush. The blades contorted into the familiar gait of an electric blue wolf. Three wolves materialized and with the speed of a gust of wind they charged Yahiko slicing at the ground indiscriminately.

Ui snapped her arm into place - biting back the pain - and held her sword in a defensive position. It would be foolish to overextend and to rush, she would have to wait for Yahiko to make his move considering her speed was irrelevant when it came to his keen eyesight.
