I agree with AllEndsWith-, imo it was to expand the KH franchise, Nintendo's GBA was becoming quite successful so it was only natural at the time to use it for the next chapter in the series. The game itself was relatively short, adding to the idea of the console switch.

I believe they did this so more people that are fans would buy the systems, and so that they could get more of an audience in different game systems.

Perhaps they wanted people to get a wgole new perspective on characters in 2-D. They definitely looked a lot different

Because in 2005 the GBA was the star media of handheld gaming. If you want more profits why would i put it on a unit that just came or current wasn't selling well. Why didn't Re:Chain get on ps3, same reason. It's money people. Don't hate the playa hate the game.

The GBA was hot shit when this was released. Well, at least, the SP was. Lol, I think I threw mine away when I bought my PSP

They probably did it cuz they thought the whole card system based fighting would fit in better on the gba.
