(i.e.: lulu in ffx-2. very, very pregnant, but her stomach's as flat as a virgin teenager's.-_-)

KH3d occurs directly after the end of KH2. They are taking their mark of mastery exams from Yen Sid, and (by title and preview, kindve gives it away with the clothes) that they will take this exam in their dreams or some form of it. So they are in their old selves again.

It is required for the plot. Either they are a dream (like how Tidus was a dream in FFX), they are in a dream (like Inception), or something. Whatever it may be, this will most likely be part of the MoM (which is only a small part of the game)
