IMO it would be awesome if he was like the boss of an Inside Out world.
Scenario: Sora has returned Ven's heart to his body but Ventus still isn't waking up for some reason. To solve this dilemma, Sora decides do what Riku did when he was snoozing & dives into Ven's heart. It turns out the will of Vanitas was revived within Ven's mind by the return of their rejoined heart to the body. Vanitas kidnaps Fear/Anger/Disgust/Sadness, since they all are afterall negative emotions & thus fuel his powers. This conveniently leaves the film's main character Joy as the remaining emotion who becomes the world's guest party member (BTW, Ven's emotions would be identical in appearance to Riley's, essentially still making them adaptations of the film's characters instead of new ones). Sora & Joy explore the various islands of Ven's personality, battling unverse & rescuing each of the other emotions along the way (the emotions are full-on plot coupon macguffins to pad out the world's length).
This eventually culminates in a final showdown between Sora & Vanitas. A grueling & epic duel with Enter The Darkness playing for old time's sake ensues. Defeated in his humanoid 1st phase, Vanitas' Will pulls a last ditch scheme & merges with his remaining unverse, becoming a monstrous eldritch chimera made of many many different unverse body parts. Also very blue. He seems unstoppable at this point until Joy gets an idea & sics an army of Terras proclaiming their willingness to die for Ven on him. 2nd boss phase is a technical showcase one-upping Demon Tide: the army of Ideal Terras breaking off chunks of unverse from Chimera-Vanitas' form while he still tries to attack Sora, mass chaos all around. The chimera form is finally defeated with all unverse extinguished with it. Exhausted & beaten, the lingering will of Vanitas falls into the Memory Dump, officially erasing Vanitas from existence once & for all.
With Vanitas gone & the emotions of Ven rescued, Ventus can finally reclaim both halves of his heart & be a whole person. Thus finally waking up. Sora gives one last goodbye to Ven's emotions & returns to the outside world.
Oh, & all of the Ideal Terras probably died too but no one notices or cares.
