Part of me hopes Sora gets rescued at the end of the game since he's already been gone for a year in the realm of light and we still have the Foretellers and Maleficent and Pete to deal with if they're still on the hunt for the black box.

But if nothing else, I'd be fine with Sora remaining in unreality but Donald and Goofy find him and agree to travel together again for future installments.

No, last year they did the strategy meeting the same day as the showcase. So people were speculating that to be the case this time. Sony’s overall meeting is Wednesday while PlayStation’s business segment meeting is on 5/30. So people are expecting a showcase announcement this Wednesday/Thursday with the showcase itself being one of those days next week.
