When are we expecting news?

We don’t celebrate thanksgiving down here, but in the spirit of the holiday I just want to say I’m thankful that 2025 is almost here and with it the news drought will end.

If we don’t get anything prior and they don’t reveal the Star Wars world at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo, that would be a huge missed opportunity. That’s currently where I believe we have the best chance to get something. It’ll have been just over three years since we last saw at that point and there is no better venue to show a game combining fictional Tokyo with Star Wars.

But hopefully Missing Link comes out before then and we get a KH4 teaser with that first.

So GamersJoint just released a video showing a somewhat interesting update for ML. I typically don't really use him for news, but adding just for discussion sake.

So apparently, someone found in the code of ML's website a "Pre-order now" and "Buy now" options have been added. Of course, this may not mean much of anything, but I do find this a rather curious discovery. Don't know if this means ML really is being reworked into a single player game, which I'm not betting on, or maybe something to do with the gacha?

Right now, the rumors that are floating around for the TGA lineup aren’t looking good for KH. But I don’t think they’re the complete lineup, even if it the rumors are legit. They don’t include anything whatsoever from SE and I think it’s unlikely they show absolutely nothing there.

If we are getting anything, they’d probably tease it first though. Probably around Thursday or Friday next week. When Rebirth was re-revealed at SGF which was also on a Thursday, they started teasing it with those dev comments the Friday before.

The .json file in the KHML site. They are probably going to do a drip feed of new images or short videos in a gallery type of thing at some point. Maybe even a trailer. There is also a preorder button on the .json for whatever reason, but it's not visible right now. And another beta application, right on their site. So i was right on the money, there seems to be another beta coming? Maybe? And a full release shortly after that? We can only hope, and hope it's soon

It looks like he did. I skimmed the video at first, but in the beginning he credits someone called Samu, who he claims has been diving into the HTML codes for ML's site. Don't know if this person is the same as Illty, though.

If no cancellation, the best possible news I'd hope for is that they turn ML into an actual game. I think the chances are slim, but I'm putting my hopes on that.

god cancellation would be so massive. i'd feel awful for the people who put their effort into the project, but ultimately it's a bit cruel to coalesce the effort of so many artists into a project that might not even exist for long if it fails

The Json log shows that they haven't used the delay to change the core idea behind that game, having it still be a GPS location based game, so an actual game is still highly unlikely

All these years wasted and if only Square Enix put this time and money into a proper UX + ML console game.

For whatever it’s worth, on the Disney game front, Indiana Jones and Marvel Rivals both release this week. Similar to SE with Fantasian releasing this week, I don’t think they have any other new games from their IPs with release dates. Maybe both companies will be ready for some KH marketing. (And yes, Disney does air traffic control for games using their IPs, even when made by different companies.)

Other than KH, Marvel 1943 is supposed to release next year, but has been radio silent since its debut trailer. Could definitely see that showing up at TGA too.
