I'm amazed that John Goodman and Catherine O'Hara turned Kingdom Hearts down but agreed to Dreamlight Valley. Must have been easier on their schedules.
Maybe this is a scalding take but Billy Crystal and John Goodman sounded exhausted in Monsters At Work, I don't think they'd have been so great in KH3.

While I’m probably not going to bother with XIV mobile, I’m happy some people will probably get to experience the world of Eorzea for the first time this way.

Sucks Missing Link got delayed, though.

Speaking of KH4, Idk why they can't just show some concept arts,characters/world introduction etc...? Surely they at least must have that much info to share after years of developing by now. FF7 Remake projects team is very transparent with their fans. They are very on track developing their 3rd game and always share their progress or just general talks about the characters/story progress even though FF7 3 is at a much early stage than Kh4 supposedly
I get this sentiment, but I guess they are thinking more about the timing.
Rebirth's marketing has been mostly silent post Remake until the did the big reveal of the title and a big reveal in SGF the year after and went full bang on. Post Rebirth they need to hype up the third game for various reasons like the anticipation leading up to the final game and declining sales, etc and the devs have been going around a lot to do interviews obviously.
I do feel once they do a big re-reveal of KH4 whenever they decide to, we will get more consistent stream of info than now.

Judging from what Nomura said few years ago regarding show stuff for upcoming game (Rebirth), it just seems the company has very strict policies regarding when they talk/reveal any sore of new info that is beyond the director's control.

I do agree in general with the fact that KH marketing in general is a lot less transparent than other franchises like FF. Not sure why that is tbh but I always felt KH team just doesn't communicate that much in general.

They weren't even supposed to come back for it. When we did the KH3 premiere event, the new voice of Sulley had been to the press night the night before and Disney was introducing him as the voice of Sulley in Monsters at Work.

I can't believe Dreamlight got all those voice actors but the cast of Frozen said it was a no-go.

For comparison's sake: how long was the gap between KH3's announcement and its second news drop?
Four months for the D23 brief trailer that showed some really poorly animated combos and a roller coaster, and then a year and eight months until the big E3 2015 re-reveal

KH3's longest drought was 18 months long. KH4's drought is currently 30 months strong, six short months away from being twice as long as KH3's longest drought. Nomura is changing us. He is granting us patience like we've never had.

Not even 18 months, we had consistent drops of information. No E3 between 2013 and 2019 passed without *some* form of acknowledgement of KH3. Yeah we only got a voice acted trailer for 2014, and the 2.5 remix closed doors trailer, but we still got those. After that Nomura interview 2 years ago its been total radio silence.

At this point, I will graciously welcome the return of closed door theaters 🙏 we didn't know how good we had it

And let's be fucking honest, that cryptic quote from him saying that KH was changed forever and then radio silent was definitely a choice

i personally feel like he said that to hype us up for the next game. i don’t think it meant anything from a development side of things but it would definitely explain the radio silence and secrecy.
