My only issue with the rearrangements of the Limit Cut bosses is that they're just kind of the same but on different instruments. I'm not a composer so I may not be finding the right words here but I hope you get what I mean.
I'll be brief and say that I disagree entirely (without being mad or contentious or whatever lol). Luxord and Xigbar's renditions of 13th Struggle and 13th Dilemma respectively have completely original sections new to KH3 with new melodies (that I suspect could carry forward into KH4?). Vector to the Heavens is on swung tempo now with hard percussion. Lord of the Castle feels completely reimagined. These songs were a huge effort and outside of Dark Riku and Vanitas's songs being reused from the base game, I'm extremely impressed with how the overall selection turned out.

Well tbf Dark Riku's song did have more...oomph added to it for Limit Cut.

I just realised it's July 4th, one full month after the wafers said "pre-register now." And with no game and being all out of wafers, it's lose/lose over here.

I don't really care, I just want to know what the hell happened behind the scenes

Not any surprise, but Square Enix is confirmed as an exhibitor for Tokyo Game Show.

I notice that they're not listed in the Smartphone Gaming Area, which hopefully means that ML will be out before TGS.

How likely is it that we'll hear about KH in this, historically speaking?
KH has shown up a lot at TGS, it had new trailers for the remixes in 2013, a DDD trailer in 2011, Melody of Memory had a presentation there, KH 2.8 was announced there, KH3 had a Big Hero 6 trailer alongside the Arendelle sliding mini-game and a tease of the Dark Aqua fight and there was a ReMind trailer, etc. etc. etc.

The most likely thing at this stage, if KH4 isn't shown at a Sony Showcase or D23, is a reused Missing-Link trailer that will be playing on the show floor.

More likely is TGS will have Square Enix demo Dragon Quest, Life is Strange, Romancing Saga, and whatever else is on their slate for later this year.

If you were to ask me back in 2001 what I would imagine Squaresoft/Disney crossover to be like, I would say something along the lines of this: a 2D traditional FF with Disney characters cast into JRPG roles. Mickey/Donald/Goofy/Minnie as the 4 warriors of Light, Evil Queen as the emperor, Chernabog as the greater evil final boss, that sort of thing.
That's true, that's what you'd have expected on paper. And that would've been fun in its own way, no doubt. Still, I'm glad we got the game we did, with an anime!Mickey replacement as the lead rather than Mickey himself, I've never been that fond of Mickey (the character). KH is actually the first iteration of him that's a little interesting.

Good to hear about Epic Mickey (I know that was several pages ago, but I hadn't heard that). I'm glad it's coming to PS5, I've never had the chance to play it, just remember all the buzz about it years ago.

In addition to what Chaser said, in recent years, new trailers during “TGS season” tend to be shown a couple weeks in advance of the event itself. Often as part of other events like State of Plays, Directs, or just social media drops. Then the trailers are shown on the exhibition floor and there may be panels going more in depth with gameplay, etc.

I think it would be a good idea to have Missing Link out by then if they can. Similar to my idea with D23, which it is probably too late for, they could have raid events, chests, etc. at the venue. This who can’t attend could still teleport there in game if they wanted.

Tose getting hit hard by cancellations. Probably a lot of which were from Square.

Yeah seems very likely. There’s a part of me that’s curious to know what was cancelled, but it would probably just be a bummer.

Since they did Crisis Core Reunion, I wonder if that lessens the likelihood of any attempt at a Dirge of Cerberus remaster…

I think TGS is quite different these days. As an offline event, it's been pretty great and getting bigger in recent years again.
But as a big gameshow where companies announce new games and have conferences like E3, it's not the place anymore unfortunately.

Basically it's still a great place for an update on announced games that are doing a promotion that are Japanese games. But not expecting any new major game announcements here, including KH4 re-reveal unless they do a re-reveal at somewhere like D23 a month prior and continuing the promotion at TGS which I doubt.

I imagine they'll make a DoC DLC for the Remake series. They've already implemented Weiss.
