I guess D23 will have a big focus on epic mickey. Surprised there's nothing about the game from the direct tbh

If Zelda can get her own game, so can Kairi!

EDIT: Page 100!

Zelda's looking great! I've yet to play the Link's Awakening remake but that miniature artstyle was too good to throw away after just one game. Glad they're giving it another go!

Even though I already played both Investigation games, I'll probably pick it up whenever it goes on sale

We're so close to AA7
AA7 should be like an AA All-Stars game. 5 cases, 5 protagonists: Nick, Apollo Aethena, Miles, & Ryūnosuke. Maybe the murder weapon in Ryūnosuke's case become a museum artifact that gets stolen in the present as a way of connecting all 5.

I've been wanting to see Kay Faraday in a mainline game ever sense I've play investigations

I hope they finish Apollo & Athena's plotline in the next game

It's crazy it's been so long since we've had Gumshoe in a mainline game too, it would be so cool if all these different characters return like Judge Courtney, Franziska, etc.

We really got an “ML” game and a game where Link is missing, but neither are Missing Link. 😭😂

Also, looks like the preview event in London last week was for DQIII after all!

KH girlies thanks to Mario & Luigi: Brothership, we'll assumedly have a bunch of Yoko Shimomura music to look forward to this fall

Between that and Reynatis, we should be eating good with Shimomura bops.

I wonder who is developing the Romancing SaGa II remake. It looks like it has a decent budget. SaGa is the third franchise that was under Kitase’s CBU1 along with FF and KH. But the development may have been outsourced.

I must say that while I love Shimomura's more classical JRPG sound, I truly think she is at most in her bag when writing jovial, bouncy, and exciting music to fight bad guys to. There aren't many composers who can reliably tap into a sound that's both super jolly but also aggressive enough for combat

Oh absolutely. Super Mario RPG was the first game where I really noticed and appreciated the music as a kid. It encapsulates that energy you’d described perfectly.

I wish they could get her on the DQXII soundtrack since the other guy passed away. That alone would address one of the biggest criticism of DQXI and I think could capture the tone of that franchise well.

It's kinda funny how the official Bravely Default accounts goes "Yeah we heard people saying DQIII took too long from the announcement but the actual development time was normal we just announced it too early (sorry)"
It's like Nomura doing this every time lol

Yeah both franchises made the same “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” choice to have these big reveals at the milestone anniversaries.

Also, we seemingly have the full line up for their 2024 console release dates now. Yet still no word on where Missing Link fits in.

Dawntrail - 7/2/24
Visions of Mana - 8/29/24
Romancing SaGa 2R - 10/24/24
Life is Strange - 10/29/24
DQIII HD2D - 11/14/24
Fantasian- TBD Holiday 2024

Plus our first 2025 title in DQI&II HD-2D.

The only notable gaps between releases are between Dawntrail and Visions as well as the latter and Romancing SaGa. Maybe Missing Link will slot in somewhere in those gaps. I could see it being late September at this point.

I hope a 2025 AAA release will be revealed late summer. Either KH4 at D23 or that, DQXII, or FF9 during TGS season. There’s at least one claim from a gaming journalist that FFIX is still a ways off though, seemingly refuting Midori’s claim of it releasing this fiscal year.

Just as an aside, kind of funny that we have two console SaGa games in the same year, but no KH titles since 2020. “Not funny haha, funny weird.” 🙃

At this point SE is starving KH fans on purpose so that they can smash the "In case of Emergency" glass and release a random KH4 trailer when they need a boost in publicity.
