Why does everyone hate Xion? I don't. I for one enjoyed seeing the addition of a new female character.

Lol, If I didn't know better I would've thought that she was Kairi's nobody when I first saw her.

Now then, More of my likes and dislikes:

Likes:

1. The Panel System. It's a very big improvement over the card battle system.
2. Multiplayer Mode

Dislikes:

1. Pausing the game in Mission Mode doesn't actually pause the game...Like, Is that a glitch or a game-flaw or was it done on purpose?
2. Too Many Ice Cream Scenes.

I was getting to the bottom of this yesterday and eariler today, as I couldn't comprehend the needless hate either. It turns out, it's because she *apparently* overshadows Roxas and the story basically becomes about her. While you play as Roxas, he feels like a side character in comparison to Xion.That...toppled with her "being useless" and what not. I never once got the same impressions as these people, so I was like "WTF!?" just as you. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Likes:

1. Story, yes, I took pleasure in this game's story and sometimes witty dialouge. I enjoyed Xion's character and seeing her gradually evolve along with Roxas and Axel. Not to mention the beautifully written ending...aside from..."Who else will I eat ice-cream with!?" -_-

2. Pretty much the entire battle system. It was a throwback to the original Kingdom Hearts. You could actually die in this game, and the bosses were surprisingly challenging. Not as deep as Birth By Sleep's for example, but I was nonetheless surprised back how smoothly rendered the Kingdom Hearts experience was played on the DS.

3. Lack of Disney involvement. More focus was given to the characters and story. The tone felt more "serious" to me as a result.

Dislikes:

1. Repetition. I've said it a million times, I HATE AGRABAH. The mission tasks grow a bit dull. Eliminate -insert number- of heartless. Investigate the area for pointless clues that reveal nothing, collect random organization emblems, etc. And as far as the Ice Cream scenes...after every mission? Really, Roxas? Is that all you and the others can do in your free time??? >_<.

2. Pacing of story. Sorry...but things developed just a *wee* bit too slow for me.

...^^ Those were really the only things that bugged me through the entire game.

+Surprisingly good recreation of the KH experience on the DS

+Magic being useful

+Augmenting weapon stats with the panel system

+Playable Mickey :D

+Great "pick & up play" factor for a handheld game

-Story mode shouldn't have had missions. It made the game slower paced than it needed to be & robbed Mission mode of any unique content. A better idea would've been breaking the story into 12 chapters, 1 for each month of the year. Each chapter would be a typical world visit just like in every other game.

-Aside from limit breaks & panels, the gameplay "merely" settled for recreating the basics of the PS2 games, not expanding on them like BBS did.

-Too many heartless bosses. Aside from Pete & the 3 Halloween Town kids, it's literally nothing but heartless until the endame. OK so maybe Hook & Hades were being saved for BBS (although I can think of ways to make the fights different enough) & the timeline made some other options impossible, but I still think they could've done a lot more. Just where the heck was Gaston? & a Diz fight would've been awesome.

-Limiting how much magic could be used rally screwed over the magic specialist characters

-Shouldn't Goofy & Vexen have max defense stats since they, you know, have shields?

-Ruler of the Sky, bleh. If only flight could be upgraded like glide.

I keep finding myself in The World That Never Was.
Let's see if I can do this without totally bitching this game out... xD

LIKES:
- Graphics weren't too bad.
- The gameplay (Panels were fun. c: Made it a challenge, but not too much of one...and I learned Curaga was not a good investment in this game... xD)
- The script. It was glorious aside from a few key points.
- The weapons (they were fun. :D Each held different attacks. Fun to try and find the right one for me.)
- THE MOOGLE. <3
- Saix. <3 Duuuh. The only one they DIDN'T screw up. Dx

DISLIKES:
- Oh god. XION.
- Axel
- Roxas
- Riku (this killed me. :c)
- The plot
- LEACHGRAVE
- Incredibly repetitive
- Xion-centric
- Mission mode
- And how everyone but Saix was butchered. :| Seriously. At least they got one of them right. -siiigh- Well...they got others right, but they basically turned the whole game from being about Roxas+Org. XIII to all about poor pathetic genderless-Xion. >_< Such a waste...

XION!
the plot not moving along till day 320! ( i mean its like, mission, mission, mission, onward in the story, mission mission etc. etc. )

the funny thing that i ever learned from all this was that marluxia was originally intended to be a girl.

Likes: Big generalisation, but most everything except for...

Dislikes: The story. The characterisation. Oh, for the love of god, Xion.

And I also disliked how utterly unrepeatable every single mission feels. Playing for the first time, though, I loved the gameplay. And I still do, but the mission format was unbearable.

Like: They did some development on Xemnas and Xigbar.

Dislike: Pretty much everything else. It was executed off that badly. It was a bad fan-fic but worse, it was canon.

Here's the big problem for 358/2 Days. It's on the DS, it had 19 playable characters and each one in past games had a unique fighting style, so why put this game on the DS?

The PSP was a better option for 358/2 Days. They could have given each character a command deck that includes commands that are specific for each character. Like Marluxia's command deck could have had the attacks he used in Re:Chain of Memories.

Also the name of the game is very misleading. I mean when I see "358/2 Days" I expect I get to play 358 missions. So honestly they should have just called it something like "KH: Deep Dive" or "KH: Another Side" and told the game in Chapters with each chapter focusing on one specific world, and that chapter having missions based on that world. That way the story wouldn't be so slow paced and mashed together.

Finally they needed more KH2 material, the only world from KH2 was Beast's Castle. They should have had Olympus Coliseum with the underworld and Halloween Town with Christmas Town. And for the heck of it throw it Land of Dragons and Port Royal. Agrabah atleast had the sandswept ruins form KH2 and a new version of the Cave of Wonders.

Xion's theme(s)
Playing as Roxas
Highly customizable panel system
Magic that is actually effective
Short mission length = frequent breaks during gameplay
Flying around Neverland

Dislikes:
Slow plot development
Repetitiveness of some missions
Leveling up by way of attaching panels (good in controlling difficulty, but time-consuming)

Been seeing this board for a while now, and considering that Days is my favorite game out of the series, I thought...well. Why not? ;) I'll try my hand at this. Although it might take a bit. Anyway, here's my list. :)

Loved:

~Playing as Roxas, and getting more depth in regards to him than in Kingdom Hearts II. Made me love him as a character and no longer hated him as I did before hand. All together, I loved the game for this.

~Xigbar's character in this game. Oh dude. Yes please! With him getting more backstory, making him less like another member in the Organization and more interesting with more depth than what was shown in Kingdom Hearts II and his kindness towards other members. Yeah, another reason I ADORED this game.

~Axel's darkside from COM shows itself in this game, another nice touch that I liked with his character. Really nice, and reminded me that he was capable of being someone other than a goofy older brother figure to Roxas that loved to say "Got it memorized" all the time.

~Teaming up with the Organization members throughout the game was a nice treat. (Heck, I even liked teaming up with LARXENE. Twus' fun!)

~Meeting Xion, and learning about her. (*raises flag* Ahhh, ahhh! Well, I actually like Xion and her character and her story. Don't murder me. :O EEK!)

~The adorable Roxas, Axel and Xion bond with one another. Very touching and all together tragic.

~The relationship that was shown between Xigbar and Roxas throughout the game. :)P Deeeerp.)

~The panel system! I really liked it, it was totally fun and not at all annoying as I thought it would be. (I all together dreaded another system like COM. >__>)

~The bittersweet ending that ties right into Kingdom Hearts II's opening. Left me in tears when the credits rolled. Was a perfect way to fit them both together. Great touch.

~Every single one of the callbacks and callforwards to Kingdom Hearts I and II.

~Wonderfully written dialogue. The character's lines were written far better than Kingdom Hearts II in my opinion.

~Magic was quite useful to me throughout the game, and this is coming from a player that hardly uses ANYTHING other than Heal and Fire. :p I believe that I ended up using one of EVERYTHING near the end of the game.

~All together seeing the different relationships between Roxas and the members. Also how other members of the Organization treat each other. (Axel/Saix Xigbar/Xion/Axel Xion/Saix, and so forth.) That alone was one of the things that made the game worth while.

Hated:

~Too few voice acted cutscenes. May be a personal thing, but I would have liked to have seen more JPS doing Xigbar and the other members than just Axel, Roxas, Xion and Saix. Needed at lest one with some other members and not focused on just text scenes. (Another reason why I wished this would have been on PSP. *sigh/shrug*)

~Gotta say, Neverland was pretty bad when it came to the controls and the flying missions there. Very crazy and hard to get memorized, and by the time you really need them, you can easily get confused. Case in point? That stupid BOSS in the SKY. Ugh. I HATED THAT THING.

~Wonderland. Just...Wonderland. With those stupid Heartless in the main room with the bottles, with the maze that Roxas and Luxord has to go through, to those HUGE floating Heartless that you have to set a trap for. All together, the WORSE world in the game.

~"That One Boss" in Halloween Town. The coffin one. At this time that I am writing, I have totally forgot the name. But you know what I mean. That boss was SO difficult that one of my neighbors came by house just to BEG that I help him with it. Even then...I failed. So many times.

~Actually, all together, most of the main bosses in some worlds were just awful. Especially if you get trapped with characters that are little to no help at all, or you are alone and not knowing WHAT the heck you're going up against. One up on my list would be the Dustflyer (Got mauled in TWO hits. DARN YOUUUU!)

~As much as I did like Xion, (Still do in fact.) half way through the game with her leaving, coming back, leaving again, and the tension and awkwardness between the main group (RAX) really began to drag on with me. I felt like there should have been more story development and not so much...awkwardness. Not sure how to really explain it, but all in all...some of Xion's motives bugged me.

~Sorry to disappoint, but how Saix was towards Xion and Roxas. I liked the relationship they had with Axel, and it made for some extra tension. But near the end, I just was so happy I could finally smack him around a bit.

I'm sure they are more reasons on my Hate list, but right now, I'm far too sleepy to think.

Goodnight everyone~! :D
