Resident Evil 4, anything else is not an opinion, it is a wrong answer. It is indescribable how much this one game will define a genre, and for that matter change gaming. It is only the second game I have ever seen as perfection. (I don't think it is the second best game ever though, just think it is perfect.
do you even know KH2 dog's the best fighting game ever!

I can't agree with you guys but I can agree with the other guy, Guitar Hero all the way, I mean I just got it and it is amazing, when it came out not that many people thought it would be good, but it was huge. NEVER have I had to practice soo many times to beat something, or have to use my left hand so much in a videogame.

Guitar Hero ftw! RE4 is good, but Guitar Hero can speak innovation and originality more fluently.

Resident Evil 4 was voted #1 on IGN when it was less than two months old, beating out the incredible Ocorina of Time. I am not saying IGN is the be all end all, I am saying it is beyond shocking that it could be rated #1 by a huge site like that in that short of a time span.
Most of the times things like this can be considered opinions. But if you went to the professionals (magazine writters, or show hosts) and said ANYTHING that was not RE4, they would laugh you out of the building. The last 2 years have been slow for games, there have only been a few great games in that time, and of those, only RE4 (and perhaps God of War) will be remembered for their greatness in 5 years.
I'm going to have to have to say Shadow of the Colossus. The game totally broke the mold of the usual type of games that come out. Plus, it introduced us to the largest and most beautifully designed bosses ever seen in a video game.
Oblivon Ftw! the graphics were awsome and the gameplay was spectacular!
