I don't think it was a connection; they just crossed paths like AtW said.. Unless if they were connected by when Sora and Kairi's heart came out of Sora.

I suggested that because there wasn't a clear reason besides the whole 'crossing paths' thing.

Xion already looks like Kairi from the get-go. Why would she be turning even more into someone she looks like already? It doesn't make sense, and it wouldn't make sense for Roxas to be surprised when she removes her hood if she looks like Kairi, which she already does at this point.

I'd sooner say that her appearance is turning into that of Aqua's or even Sora's instead of Kairi's because she already looks like Kairi. Just change the hair color and the parting and voila! You've got yourself a perfect Kairi clone. :v

Xion's being affected by Sora's memories.
Sora's still asleep in the pod.
Sora doesn't meet Kairi and see what she looks like until late KH2.
Days ends before KH2 begins.

See where I'm going with this?

And why should Roxas's Memories from KH2 affect something that took place BEFORE it?

Going the other way would really throw everyone off. Maybe even to the point of guessing she's looking more like Roxas than Sora or Kairi.

While they are connected, yes, they are not the same.

I don't see how anyone would think Xion would turn into Aqua. I think that sort of change would be mentioned in KH2. I think Xion turns into a character we already know (probably Sora) and dies/is absorbed.

Considering Aqua's armor is in the Room of Sleep, and Xion woke up from a long sleep, it's entirely feasible in my opinion.

From what I heard that's what some Org members had said, since then people have interpreted Xion as being created way a long time ago. So I guess her being Aqua has upped in validity.

All I know is Xion must of been completely erased because nobody mentions her in KHII. I mean if someone favored by the superior just died recently I would think that would be mentioned in the Organization. Nobody mentioned her...not even DiZ or Riku.

Nobody, not even the Organization, addressed these fallen members by name in any cutscenes.
No wonder why Roxas thought nobody would miss him if he left.

No. But they took account that they actually existed in various other ways. Some even mentioned the traitors, and whatnot. They were in Jiminy's journal. The novels goes into this more, and they are connected to a lot as well.

Xion, on the other hand, is nowhere.

She needs only be tied to Sora and Roxas. Their Memories can explain the looks, if you don't wanna say she's Aqua-related and hence the base looks.

It's in one of the recent scans, though I'd hardly take it as basis for anything too serious until we get more information, at least. It says she woke up, and that her awakening will shake the Organization. However, seeing how in the scans we've seen she's unhooded, and the scan asks if she started to "regain her Memories", I'd sooner link her looking like Kairi and as far as we know suddenly getting a Keyblade to her 'waking up', instead of to her birth in general.

Possible scenario -
Seeing how Xion was around at the time of CoM, she'd have been around while Sora was still up and about. She went to sleep around the time in which Sora did, due to their relation, and woke up looking like Kairi and sporting a Keyblade. Namine around that time would comment about how Sora's Memories are leaking out and how she [=Xion] couldn't endure it.

Makes sense, explains some stuff, and yet has nothing to do with Xion's time before she joined :\

I'm not saying her 'sleep' didn't have anything to do with her joining. However, it's hardly fact. Far from it.

:v this reminds me of the crack theory of mine that said Xion did have a tombstone.
Roxas didn't get to Duel Wield until later in the game, it seems, now that the novel describing him Duel Wielding before was proved to be a mistranslation. He had the KK. Xion had the KK too.
I wouldn't put it beyond them to explain Roxas's Proof of Existence having both the Oathkeeper and Oblivion because it represented both him and Xion, and they let themselves put them on the same PoE because of their relation - which Xemnas would've known about.

I like to think that anything is possible with Xion, in fact, I caught your recent theory, and it makes a lot of sense, though, that's for another thread.
