If you recall, Terra ended up as the Lingering Sentiment after being trapped in his own suit of armor at the Keyblade graveyard. Using this armor, he beats down Xehanort, then just.... stops. Alright, what is the reason for this? He said in his own words that he'd "set things right" but as far as any of us know, he's been in the keyblade graveyard doing nothing for eleven years. It's not like he's missing his keyblade glider, and he certainly had reason to leave the graveyard, so why doesn't he?

1. The sentiment didn't destroy Xehanort because it still had Terra's heart and body.

2. Considering that the sentiment didn't wake up for years and the fact that Terra wasn't worried about his heart being consumed, it seemed Terra was confident he would control his body as Xemnas. However, if this IS the case, which it has heavily been hinted to be, Xemnas's lack of emotions and influence from Xehanort's memories is what draws such a distinction between the two.

The armor is typically just Terra's emotions towards Xehanort. Terra isn't really the LS, just part of him.

this^ is the best way to but it since we dont know much to nothing bout lingering sentiments aside from their lingering thoughts/emotions.
the actual terra heart and all is currently MX's body bitch.

was the ls sleeping? i was under the assumption he just...sit there

I wouldn't really call LS a collection of Terra's emotions, more like his actual mind.

If LS is Terra's emotions/thoughts toward Xehanort then wouldn't that techinacily make LS an unversed created by Terra?

If by "Unversed" you mean the "negative emotions" part, then yes. But a "true" Unversed are those that come out of Vanitas(' frustration of being MX's sex toy).

But really, who here thought the entity that we fought in KH2FM was really an emotional-driven inanimate object instead of a living, breathing being?

He didn't speak, he communicated directly into Sora's mind. He couldn't have been a living entity.

Well of course we can say that in hindsight, but at the time yes, he seemed like a normal being.

I find it interesting that LS only remembers rage and hatred, and after being somewhat defeated, the only thing Xemnas desires for power in a heart is anger and hatred (even calling them supreme in the final battle).

I wonder what Lingering Sentiments response would be if it met Riku in Dream Drop Distance or Kingdom Hearts 3.
Would Lingering Sentiment attack Riku like it did Sora? Or would LS put more effort into communicating since Riku was Terra's chosen Keyblade wielder?

Anger and hatred were the two strongest emotions that Terra had towards MX before he lost to him. Therefore, those would be the emotions that Xemnas would remember the most.

We don't know, but I wouldn't really dwell on it.

We frankly don't even know if the LS stayed in the Keyblade Graveyard. Sora fights him in KH2FM, but the canon-status of that is in question and, more importantly, we really don't even know what time period that occurs in (eg did Sora travel back in time or did it just transport him to the Keyblade Graveyard?). I think that fight is entirely irrelevant, canon or not, in establishing anything about the LS. Only his dialogue is important.

Then one must also consider the fact that Aqua saw Terra's keyblade flying around the Dark Realm. That would seem to suggest that his keyblade didn't stay with the LS. And that, in turn, brings into question whether or not the LS is even still there.

So it may just be that the LS didn't continue the fight because he no longer exists, because he is restricted to that area (perhaps because the strong emotions are imprinted there), or for some other reason.

I was thinking that maybe LS is chained to that world and can't leave (the giant explosion from the X-Blade sent everyone else away from the world but he stayed). Maybe its a prefinal state of existence compared to the lifeless keyblades in the graveyard.
