What are your thoughts of the future of kingdom hearts?

My first post! but anyways.... What are your thoughts of the future of kingdom hearts? Like whats gonna happen to sora and riku and everybody else who was conneced to soras memories.

Kingdom Hearts III will get a lot of hype and is proclaimed to be the best Kingdom Hearts game since the first game by a significant percentage of the forum community. This feeling of euphoria will manage to last way past both the Japanese and international release date of this game and it would be a good year before there is a sudden feeling that the game wasn't perhaps as good as many had thought it would be given from the images and trailers. Within time, the same people who loved the game will start to hate it due to their over-analyzing of every significant and non-significant cutscene in the entire game. As such, it would be business as usual.

Well, for Storytelling reasons I would like if the entire Xehanort thing found closure, but at the same Time would be the jumping point into the next epic. By that I don't even mean a new big bad, more along the line of a Keyblade War starting, where we don't necessarily need one single Character to hate. So pretty much, Xehanort succeeds, but is destroyed in the process....with something that make it impossible for him to return in any form whatsoever because otherwise Nomura wouldn't be able to resist.

I don't know exactly what direction a Keyblade War should take, but I just can't see Sora, Riku and Kairi going back to Destiny Islands as if nothing ever happenend. I expect Terra to go full Emo, I mean being obsessed with power and ultimately being powerless because you were only a pawn...that's gotta seriously damage a Ego. With Ven I have no idea. In fact, if anything I'm wondering if there would be any logical way to explain why he didn't age a day since what happend (atleast I expect that will be the case). Aqua, also no clue. Generally I expect TAV to pretty much immediantly after being saved to take a backseat again.

I find the reason people start disliking the games is because they begin to analyze the game for theories and once they fo so they find flaws and begin to dislike the games. So guys maybe when this ends we stop over analyzing and trying to find theories and just play the damn game. The reason KH1 is still good in most of our eyes is because it was a base and we never really thought about sequels back then. We just took the game at face value. For example the Final Harry Potter could be over analyzed destroyed. But we alas are the internets. And this is what we do, hate on everything that is loved and act like dick heads to each other, it's like New York with the perk of being anonymous,

That said I'm looking forward to this last game. The main installments have always been good and it will probably keep up that tradition.

As for the series sucking after III, I want to look at it in another perspective. It will be a fresh start for Nomura to make anything he wishes out of the game. Meaning forget all those other plot holes from the last series, this is new! And guys let's try not to analyze III. It'll be the last of it's kind and therefore should be left alone.

I don't understand the hype for KH3... BBS is what everyone was waiting for since KH2 anyway.

I think that it will be like anything else when it comes to Japanese releases...Someone somewhere will upload all the scenes and then another someone somewhere will translate them thus continuing the cycle of spoil-haters hating on the spoil-happy watching community until the American release comes out and then snap goes a KHIII Final Mix thus (and you know the rest)

I can also only agree on that...too much speculating and over-theorizing will just lead to more overhype, then freakouts, then flaw-nitpicking and hating in the end.

Instead of that, we should focus maybe more on the immediate future if at all, which would mean DDD.
Another good thing would be to clearly emphasize that all our theorizing here are only possibilities as to not let the hype get up that much.

On the topic on a new keyblade war...we have way too few keyblade wielders for that.
Still, if there will be another war, I would think that Sora, Riku, Mickey, Terra, Aqua and Ventus would most likely form one faction (didn't include Roxas and Xion because no one knows how their "saving" is going to turn out in the end) and try to end the new keyblade war before a new apocalypse happens and the whole universe goes down a second time.

As for the question from someone earlier why Ven didn't age, that was already explained way before with the tidbits of nobodies not aging.
In order to age physically a heart is needed. A body won't age when it has no heart, that's why Ven is physically still 14/15 despite being not a nobody (his body has no heart) and also why Roxas, despite being a nobody, did age...he carried a heart.
Another possible explanation would be also the special properties of the chamber of waking, although that one is way more "fishy".
Nonetheless, this is a fantasy series so we should really not overanalyze everything...

Whenever the hype train starts for KHIII I won't be apart of it this time or at least I'll try not to be. Last time was an epic failure on many accounts one because of all the theories and two because of all the rumors that were started on this site.

The people starting the rumors made you think it was true, but now that I look back on it I was very gullible the the time same for a lot of people.

I think that's what ultimately lead to KH2 downfall, but if you leave the spoiling to a minimu I think people would be better off. The game will actually feel New and not like oh yeah I saw this part in about 5 trailers lol.
