From what I've seen of each, the individual sections of the Creative Corner seem to have suffered in recent months/years. Every now and then, someone will try to breathe life into their respective community . . . to limited success. My mind flashes to DM Magazine, POTW, The Roleplaying Academy, and several projects in the same vein.
All of these concepts are fantastic, and ought to succeed—but the Creative Corner has slipped into a state of lethargy. It was never the most active group to begin with, but most everyone can agree that recent times have not been the best.
To remedy this, I have the temerity to suggest something across the entire Creative Corner:
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK HERE.
For those who don't care to read at the moment, my aim is for each section of the Creative Corner will contribute to an anthology of sorts, following the familiar theme of Fairy Tales—Disney or otherwise. From our visual artists, I'm looking for willing illustrators for a "storybook" project. As roleplayers build characters from classic fairy-tale archetypes, weaving the basis of a story, you'll be illustrating them.
The characters and the setting will appear as you wish them to.
Now, let me be clear: Posts will be a joint effort between illustrators and roleplayers. The latter may provide the "main material", but the former can contribute their own concepts as well—regardless of whether they currently have a place in the RP.
Would anybody be interested in this?
We have some fine talent across these boards, and I'd like to have a unified work that showcases them all.

UPDATE: Characters Thus Far
Spoiler Show- The Black Knight was once a man, now a spirit bound to his charred armor. Cursed for infidelity, he became a war machine for his kingdom -- then wandered alone after the kingdom fell. He no longer remembers ever having been human, and the curse tortures him now more than ever. Basic Appearance: A black suit of disembodied armor, worn and damaged over the years. See me about this character, if you are interested.
- King Dragonsbane has proven himself to be a wise and benevolent ruler, ever since he slew a dragon through his own clever thinking. He has since acquired powerful magic, a table of knights, and a prosperous nation. Dragonsbane is currently seeking a suitor for his daughter, through a peculiar contest . . . Basic Appearance: A compact man of regal bearing, dressed like a king. He uses a very striking cane -- full of magic -- which seems to have a life of its own. See me about this character, if you are interested.
- The Stolen Thief & the Fell King are forever bound in fate: After liberating his homeland from a greedy aristocracy, a noble thief was ensnared by a cursed crown, which made him a wicked tyrant. The spirit of the crown, the Fell King, now holds sway over the Thief and his lands -- which have become a deathless army. Basic Appearance: A rotten lich, trapped in a body of skin and bone, wearing a tall golden crown. See OmniChaos about this character, if you are interested.
- Gerre Desidarius was one of the Nine Masters, a group of witches and warlocks who guarded the world against impending threats. Though he was the youngest, he stood his ground against a traitorous witch who slew the other Masters. Using two of three potent artifacts, he imprisoned both himself and the witch, who had stolen the most powerful of the three. Basic Appearance: A handsome young sorcerer, wearing a peculiar ring on his finger. See FairSovereign about this character, if you are interested.
- The Dauntless Merchant, in exploring strange locales and finding rare items, proved more intrepid than his countrymen. Leading a treasure-hunters' guild, he brought a new sort of wealth to his homeland. The objects, more often than not, were cursed -- ultimately leading to the kingdom's downfall. The Merchant, however, survived through his own wares; he jovially peddles unique items to this day. Basic Appearance: A peddler without any visible skin, wearing instead an ivory mask and a coat of enchanted mail. See Orion about this character, if you are interested.
- The Gnasher, called such for his deadly bone-sword, was renowned among his tribe for prowess in battle. Born illegitimately to a wicked sorceress, he was shadowed by infamy -- despite having the best of intentions. The dark magic in his blood allowed him to best his jealous siblings many times over. Eventually, though, his blood compelled him to commit murder; realizing his mother's influence, the Gnasher committed suicide. Now his son takes up the warrior's mantle. Basic Description: Warrior of an eastern tribe, wielding a sword crafted from the bones of a great beast. See Athel about this character, if you are interested.
- The Joyful Jester, formerly the Bard, is a young lady cursed by those with envious hearts. Once renowned as a minstrel of prodigious skill, she performed for nobility and commoners alike. Her music kindled emotion in the hardest of hearts; in the case of five, less talented noblemen, it stirred feelings of jealousy. Caught by surprise, the Bard was attacked by a hired magician, who channeled her famed voice into a mask. The Bard disappeared, with a silver-masked jester in her place . . . while five noblemen mysteriously vanished in the while. Basic Appearance: A motley jester, her face covered by a silver mask. See Professor Ven about this character, if you are interested.
- The Humble Peasant Girl, as she is called in folklore, was thrice-blessed for her humility and generosity. Living with her father on a meager dirt farm, the Peasant Girl was met one night by an ugly beggar woman, asking for shelter. Despite her father's worries, she offered her own food and bed to the woman -- who gave her magic seeds in turn. The hag later revealed herself to be an enchantress, who blessed the Humble Peasant Girl with beauty, bravery, and wisdom. The girl is now a handmaiden to King Dragonsbane's daughter. Basic Appearance: A young peasant woman, beautiful but modest. NOTE: This character has an actual name, not yet announced/decided. See Evangeline if you are interested.
- Princess Cecilia is the long-desired child of King Dragonsbane, whose wife was long believed infertile. The queen's ailment was ended by a strange, blind midwife, who agreed to cure her upon entry to the royal household. Thus a princess was borne into the world, named "Cecilia" in honor of her mother's midwife. Princess Cecilia was rarely denied a thing from her mother, and became a lady whose selfishness was matched only by her beauty. Basic Appearance: A gorgeous princess of marriageable age, with fair hair and amber eyes. See Passion about this character, if you are interested.
- The Behemoth is the only name for a hulking, bloodthirsty monster, which terrorized a tiny village by moonlight. Every time a girl of the village reached marriageable age, the beast would emerge from the Dark Forest, and steal her from her bed. When the village realized this, they came to the painful decision to make a sacrifice of the next maiden. A traveling knight, seeing a girl tied to a post, immediately volunteered to rectify the situation. He later emerged from the forest with a severed lock of dark hair, claiming that the Behemoth had been slain.
Appearance, as Witnessed by a Villager: "[A] monster of rock-like shoulders, of pillars of stone for arms! Gnashing teeth that could crush tombstones! Fingers that could snap elm trees! And eyes! Smoldering eyes that could spark mountains into spitting volcanoes!" See Prophet about this character, if you are interested.
- Sir Barnaby the Dastard was but a cowardly squire in his youth, apprenticed to one of King Dragonsbane's bravest knights. When a fiendish warlock stirred trouble in the kingdom, the knight felt it appropriate to test his squire on the mission to exterminate this threat. Barnaby, however, struck a deal with the warlock -- and lopped off his master's head, which was then disguised as that of the warlock. He became Sir Barnaby the Vigilant, and later proposed to the Princess. Despite his many charms, she refused him -- and the dastard fled the king's court in disgust. Basic Appearance: A rogue knight, still carrying symbols of his false accolades. See OmniChaos about this character, if you are interested.
