maybe he lost his heart and began to change into a nobody but not physically.
maybe losing his heart made him change and begin to doubt himself as a keyblade wielder.
so asks aqua to erase him.
then not wanting to completely kill him.
she chose to put him inside a host so he cant become a threat.

but i thought it might be beneficial to say he might be the first nobody

No. The first Nobody came about as a result of the earliest Heartless research, created in Xehanort's and/or Ansem's experiments. The earliest time we can pin down the creation of Nobody is when Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas were created.

Not like it matters, Nobodies didn't exist during BBS - Nomura has confirmed this.

How do you figure the other apprentices were the first nobodies?

I though Xehanort became one when he stepped through the darkness beyond the door in Hollow Bastion and then when he returned as Xemnas he told the other apprentices to do the same then they became nobodies.
