It doesn't seem to be that far fetched. Villains wishing to end their existence and take the world with them are pretty standard adventuring fair, not to mention everyone on this forum has been swooning over every mention that BBS is going to be more serious and mature than previous KH games.

The Unbirths are said to be the predecessors of the Heartless. The Heartless pursue the darkness in hearts and consume them and by doing so they destroy worlds, so I hope it's not too much of a stretch to guess what the Unbirths seek is equally destructive. If they seek to end their existence and the pursuit of this goal threatens the worlds, that's a pretty decent set up for a serious story to be told.

This is just a quick theory and there's really no need to go into much detail, so I'm tossing it out there.

As of now I've come to the conclusion that the Unbirths are beings who wish to cease to exist, and to meet that goal they must be slain by the Keyblade.

They are named after their desire as opposed to what they actually are.

It makes sense doesn't it?

Why would they attack the Keybladers then, outside of the first few strikes to get their attention? From everything I've seen, the Unbirths seek to kill the Keybladers - there's even one confirmed Unbirth boss already (and there are likely more). It wouldn't be that hard of a boss if it jumped in, casually took jabs at you, and patiently waited for you to kill it with your Keyblade. =/

*sigh* Very well antagonists.
Normal, average, every day people became Heartless. Why can't they become Unbirths?

^ Exactly, example the innocent citizen in KH1 that lost his heart, he was trying to run away.
Then again who knows, we all have skeletons in our closets <_<

As long as you have darkness in your heart you're bait for the heartless, that means ANYONE even the innocent.

I must admit, it is a bit strange that their main reason to live was to be killed. That sounded really weird..

Nobodies are nothing, yet they have a physical presence and seek to exist, so my theory on the Unbirths can't be any stranger.

What I want to know is, why would they want to die? There'd have to be a reason for it.

There's no evidence for me to draw an answer to that from.

Normal, average, every day people became Heartless. Why can't they become Unbirths?

I never said they couldn't, just that they didn't HAVE to. Please read the thread and all my other responses.

Well, nobodys wanted to live, not die. They wanted hearts=they wanted to live and feel.

Your theory is that suicidal beings magically deform into these things we know as Unbirths.
Yes that is a bit stranger.

You're nit picking and you know it. I just said that ending all existence is a common goal for villains to have. I did not say that the Unbirths were villains before they became Unbirths.

My theory is NOT that suicidal beings became Unbirths. It's that Unbirths THEMSELVES want to die.

Edit: Well, not die. Cease to exist. You know -- the opposite of Nobodies -- like I titled the thread.

They have a physical presence since they are the body and soul of the person that lost their hearts.
They are nonexistent since they can neither exist freely in the realm of darkness or Light leaving them incomplete and nobodies in relative terms if they were truly nonexistent then they'd be nothing...period.

Their fate would be the realm of nothingness.

And you're theory, christ, you think the process of making a nobody is complicated and strange?
What have you been smoking?

If they wanted to die so bad... couldn't they just OD or something? =/
And why even fight back against TAV?
