There
was a picture in my phone of me sleeping. I live alone.

After being
awoken by the sound of something feral racing around in my backyard, I was
relieved to hear the familiar sound of my dog coming through the pet door. It
wasn't until I noticed him asleep on my bedroom floor that I truly began to
worry.

Coming
home from a long days work, I reached for a light switch, and felt another hand
already there.

Half
asleep, I stumbled into my apartment during the middle of night only to find the
hallway and kitchen lights wouldn't work. I'd just reached the living room lamp
when a voice behind me whispered "That one's broken, too."

Though I
was initially happy to hear my son had gotten over the fear of the monster under
his bed, it didn't last. "Oh, no, daddy," he explained, "it told me it was
moving to you and mommy's room."

I have a
reoccurring dream where I'm being chased by an evil version of myself, and last
night it finally caught me. This morning I woke up and my shadow was right up
against the bed.

The last
man on earth sat in a room. There was a knock at the door…

I had
just left town when I noticed a car that had apparently run off the side of the
road and pulled over to help. "Thanks for stopping," the paper in the empty
driver's seat read, "now turn around."

I woke
up in the middle of the night from a glass tapping noise which I feared was
coming from outside my window. I then realized it was coming from the
mirror.

I awoke
to hear a gentle voice coming over the baby monitor, comforting my newborn in
the other room. I then rolled over, and felt my wife's arm ….she was lying
asleep next to me.

My
daughter won't stop crying and screaming in the middle of the night. I visit her
grave and ask her to stop, but it doesn't help.

The
doctors told the amputee he might experience a phantom limb from time to time
Nobody prepared him for the moments, however, when he felt cold fingers brush
across his phantom hand…

The
heart attack came and went, knocking Mike into unconsciousness…and when he
awoke, he could hear the graveside service around him. Somehow, he could see
what was happening, recognized his friends, but his body would not move, he
could not make noise, and he then realized with terror what death really
is.

I went
to tuck my three year old son into bed, when he said grinning unusually, "Daddy
check for monsters under my bed!" Humoring him, I looked underneath his bed, and
saw my son, pale faced and terrified, whisper, "Daddy, there's something on my
bed!"

I just
saw my reflection blink.

She
wondered why she was casting two shadows. Afterall, there was only one light
bulb.

My
daughter fell through the ice, and like any parent I instinctively dove in after
her. As I pulled her up from the dark, and swam back to the surface I screamed
as the hole had already frozen over.

She
asked why I was breathing so heavily. I wasn't.

They
celebrated the first successful cryogenic freezing. He had no way of letting
them know he was still conscious.

Working
the night shift alone tonight. There is a face in the cellar staring at the
security camera.

My wife
woke me up last night to tell me there was an intruder in our house. She was
murdered by an intruder 2 years ago.

They
delivered the mannequins in bubble wrap. From the main room I begin to hear
popping.

I wish I
could remember whose these people are. They tell me I have Alzheimers.

The
grinning face stared at me from the darkness beyond my bedroom window. I live on
the 14th floor.

Yesterday
my parents told me I was too old for an imaginary friend and that I had to let
her go. They found her body this morning.

I was
having a pleasant dream when what sounded like hammering woke me. After that, I
could barely hear the muffled sound of dirt covering the coffin over my own
screams.

Nurse's
Note: Born 7 pounds 10 ounces, 18 inches long, 32 fully formed teeth. Silent,
always smiling.

She went
upstairs to check on her sleeping toddler. The window was open and the bed was
empty.

You hear
the scream across the hallway, but your eyes won't open and you can't
move.

Being
the first to respond to a fatal car accident is always the most traumatic thing
I see as a police officer. But today, when the crushed body of the little dead
child boy strapped in his car seat opened his eyes and giggled at me when I
tried to peel him out of the wreckage, I immediately knew that today would be my
last day on the force.

I looked
out my window. The stars had gone away.

I always
thought my cat had a staring problem, she always seemed fixated on my face.
Until one day, when I realized that she was always looking just behind me.

I can say, this is quite unique, and my first time, reading something in such a strange form. Each tidbit of a story was different from the last, much to my surprise; since I've never heard about a two sentence horror story before. I wish I had been afraid, but didn't really feel much from reading it. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining to read! Just something that doesn't quite reach me in the scare factor. C:
