I had a good idea for this challenge, Light, so get ready for a very over-powered battle.

So, we won't be needing templates, we will just explain our appearances in our first few posts.

The environment will be forever changing, switching between Darkness, Light and The Cold (aka Ice).

We will each have one weapon known as a Key, the Key can be anything. As an example my Key is going to be a pair of White Gauntlets.

We will also have to use abilities/powers that relate to our usernames. Yours will be over Light and Darkness, while mine will be over Ice and Bones. Our powers have only one restriction, they can not negate certain death.

You can post first, my good friend.

Tomas wandered the enigma, the landscape changing around him as he walked. It was almost unnerving, even for a being so mighty as he, for the land to be morphing as he walked.
He had been sitting upon his throne, a true marvel, before moved here. Tomas had been under these circumstances before; he knew the costs of losing.
Many people had challenged him of his Key, his right to be superior. All had fallen.
He was almost a god, and that was what his Key represented, his right to rule, his right to challenge the gods of their positions. It was true that on one occassion his peoples had united, and fought against the gods, the omnipotent. Both sides had suffered heavy losses, more so for his.
There were few of his side left, few of the ones who wielded the Keys of Legend. These few remaining are the strongest, the most elite, and none should be taken lightly, even to a fellow Key wielder.
Tomas rubbed his Key, which was split in two; one of a black steel, and the other of some other glowing stone. He warmed himself, with the powers within, and enlightened his vision.
Of the many times he had gone into these battles, these challenges, the before-moments never lasted too long. In fact, he could almost make out the shape of his challenger in the distance. He stood still for a moment, counted.
"Five, four, three, two..." he whispered. A moment passed, and the snowy landscape changed, altered into a more blinding one. His mind had picked up on the rythym of the change, and he knew he had not long before another switch.
Tomas called out, " Who is it that challenges Tomas, Master of Dawn and Dusk, and all that lay Between, the King of Moon and Sun, the Lord of Lights and Darknesses?"
As he spoke, his regal fit of clothing began to shed, forming into armour. Black and white plates chequered his body, and a golden helm envoloped his head, and two horns sprouted from the top; one of purest white, the other of blackest ebony.
His Keys began to glow of a deepest, most powerful energy, forming perfect spheres that eclipsed both of his hands. He was ready for encounter.

Josh stood above a snowy mountain as the wind blew around his coat as he had his hands in the pockets of his black jeans.
'Lovely weather.' He muttered to himself as a snow flake hit his hand. He threw the flake into the air and received a frozen sword in return. It was light and easily movable, just like he had practiced. He could get used to this weather, but he knew all too well that it would soon change to something that represented his opponent. The Arena of Gods tended to do that, it gave no upper-hand to anyone, but it was a nice touch.
'Ah. There it goes.' Muttered the teen as the snow suddenly disappeared and was replaced by nearly blinding light. 'Looks like I'm versing Tomas then,' He muttered to himself. 'Oh joy.'

He clicked the thumb and ring finger of of his right hand and felt power surge through him as his Key materialised over his hands, White Gloves sucking in some of the Light around him then turning it into a ball of ice in his hand.
He heard Tomas yell out something and his Gloves moved in his location.
'Brilliant.' Josh muttered before throwing the ball of ice and transofrming it into a grenade that would explode and scatter sharp shards of ice once it hit something..

"Brilliant!" replied the opponent. A look of confusion spun across his face. What kind of name was brilliant? A ball of ice sailed near him, and he stared at it, still in shock from the answer. Moments before the 'grenade' went off, he raised his hands. The two spheres that had been contained just around his hands expanded over his whole body, covering him in there ancient energies. The spikes lashed out, but had short lives.
They turned to dust as they met the two interlocking spheres, disappearing just as quickly as they had appeared. Tomas lowered his hands, the orbs returning to their original size. A spark of rage entered his eyes, and he raised one hand, the one where the bright orb resided. He pointed towards where the shadow was, and released a bolt of Light energy. The energy crackled as it sped, faster than any human eye would track, hurtling towards the target.
Tomas used his other half of his Key simultaniously to summon an ebon blade. The blade looked similar to a scimitar, but much thicker, and a spiked hilt. He swung the blade skyward, not even sure if the Light energy had struck true. As the blade made the apex of its arc six lines of darkness spread outwards, making an asterik above Tomas' head. They descended to his feet, obscurring his body as they descended.
"3... 2... 1..."
The arena turned black as night. Another one of his aspects. The last for a while. He rushed forwards, his sight improved ten-fold, seeking out the challenger.

Tomas was living up to Josh's expectations. He had completely negated his Ice grenade and was now raising his hand, with his Key Josh presumed, and sent a bolt of Light at him.
If it hadn't of been for Josh's Gloves, he would have gone flying backwards, not that it would kill him, but it would be unconvienient. The Gloves tugged to the side and Josh was pulled along with them, hitting the ground as the Light bolt flashed past him and caused a small explosion that made the teen flip on to his back.

Josh got back up and coughed, the small part of him that was still human had asthma and the dust created by the explosion had gotten into his lungs. He unwrapped the scarf around his neck and threw it on the ground, then proceeded to crack his knuckles as Darkness flooded the Arena. The cracking of his knuckles altered the skeletal structure in his hands, making his knuckles extend and become sharp. The gloves morphed along with them.
'By the look I saw on your face before, Tomas,' He said as he stretched his legs, extend the bones in his upper-legs further than his lower legs, making them sharp as well. 'you thought my name was Brilliant. You're supposed to be a near-God, you should have more common sense.'
Josh smirked and clicked his fingers, summoning hundreds upon hundreds of sharp icicles.
'Find him.' He said to the icicles, that sensed any being that didn't have a -70c temperature in their blood. The icicles rotated around him and when he rose his right hand, they fired into the distance, seeking out Tomas.

His illusion had worked. The, presumbly, boy hadn't been able to see him. He hung back for a moment, and heard the boy mutter something. Tomas ignored the taunt, and began to move forward, until the boy had moved. Suddenly the air was filled with little pricks of ice. They writhed, twitched, awaiting for their master's command.
"Find him."
They shot forward, going straight towards Tomas... who didn't even flinch. He cut his sword through the air, and a massive rolling wave of Darkness spat forth, shattering hundreds of the shards. Few managed to get through, but were made quick work by the blade. A smile swam across his face; it had been long since he had felt the battle-lust.
He spun and slashed through the last icicle, and made a quick scan of the area for his opponent. He rolled his hand, and the illusion dropped. He would use it to more extent later.
He crouched down, sending tendrils of Darkness and Light into the ground, he shuddered up with a jolt, spinning, to find his challenger there.

I get it now, Josh thought. Practically anything that is a projectile does nothing to him.
He made a mental note as the wave of Darkness Tomas had summoned disappeared, if Josh didn't have such good eyesight to the the faint outline he would've assumed the icicles had hit and injured Tomas, then Josh would have rushed into close-combat and be caught by surprise. He didn't appreciate surprises.

Out the corner of his eye Josh saw a small flicker of Light on the ground. He turned and Saw Tomas, in his usual battle attire.
'You always know how to make an appearance.' The teen acknowledged, trying to stir up Tomas so his anger would make him fight worse and less precise. Not waiting for a response Josh jumped into the air, the ground and sky turning a yellow-white as the arena turned into a Bone-based structure.
The Arena is switching much faster than it should be. Thought Josh as he landed and slid down a curve in a gigantic bone. While he was sliding Josh let his hand run across the bone before slamming his fist into it, creating a large line of spikes behind him so Tomas couldn't follow.

Tomas smiled as his opponent fled him.
His enemy thought he was in the advantage in the arena, that it was his element it was in. That was not the case; not the case indeed.
The whirling place of ice and snow, of bone and marrow, was a place of eternal stillness, a place locked in phases constantly. It was not uncommon for some of the worlds to spend Earth years in constant middle-light; in twilight.
In a place like this it was much easier for Tomas to weld his two weapons, his elements, together into more powerful combinations.
His feet became encased in golden light, and he began to hover off the ground. In moments he was in the sky. He warped the conditions of this place of Twilight into a slightly more favourable one, and summoned wind behind him, helping propel him after his foe.
Just as the eagle preys on the small animals of the ground, Tomas would destroy this boy. He could feel it.
His vision sharpened beyond its usual hawk limits, turning four, five times the scope. He zoomed in on the boy, still scampering away pitifully upon the slide of bone. the spheres about his fists turned respectively dark and shining. He clapped his hands together, and a thunderclap sounded, reaching the ears of the boy far after the bolt slashed over where he slid, and where he would slide.
Shifting his body forwards, so that he was face-first, The King of Dusk and Dawn dived down, the two spheres morphing into different blades of black and white. As he crossed over the boy he cut in an 'X' shape, the blade turning golden where the two swords met, before spinning around and facing the boy, feet firmly placed upon the ground.

Ooh, lightning was always fun. Josh really liked lightning. It was true that a normal person would be obliterated by the lightning strikes, but Josh was not normal. At all. The bone several yards behind him vibrate slightly as the lightning had prepared to strike. Immediately after feeling this Josh jumped from the bone and used the crashing lightning bolt behind him threw him through the air and on to another large bone. Or was it a skeleton? Josh couldn't actually tell.

Just when he had got into a running momentum Tomas came swooping down, so Josh simply 'hit the deck' and the swords swung over his head. As he quickly returned to his feet Tomas was standing right in front of him, his feet firmly planted on the ground.
They were on the ground. Quite firmly actually.
That was so handy.

Josh clapped his hands and Tomas had up to his ribs sucked in to the bone structure.
'Now, Mr Tomas,' Josh said as he took a step back so his adversary couldn't take a swing at him. 'I believe the odds aren't currently in your favor. Don't struggle, you'll just make it last longer.' The -Near-God clicked his fingers and a sword appeared in his hand. It was made of sharp ice and had a bone hilt. He weighed it in his hand and took a swing in the air.
Poor Tomas. I'm going to have to kill him now. Or I could torture him. Or taunt him. No, that would be stupid.
'Well, I suppose you're going to try and do something tricky, so my Keys are going to help me a little.'
He pointed a finger of his free hand at Tomas and a small ray of ice hit his chest. That would spread over his whole body in a minute or two, so if Tomas did escape, Josh wouldn't like the man's chances.

'By the power of my Keys, I Joshua Blighten, claim Tomas, The King of Dusk and Dawn's Keys, through trial and contest!'

The boy was a fool.
Long before he had started to speak the claiming process, Tomas had already started to escape. The ice was spreading, slowly. He let it spread, calmly using his Keys to weaken it around his wrists, and felt the two primal elements within the ice.
It was no lie that all began in Light and Darkness, and that all shall return to this state. Well, almost.
Tomas destroyed the ice, and reverted the bone back into its earliest stage. His opponent was muttering the word 'trial' as the energy swirled around him, focusing at his palms. He pushed forward with rapid speed, sending a golden beam slamming into his foe's chest.
Once again, the two blades formed in each hand, and he proceeded, making to engage his opponent in swordplay.
Quickly changing from his cool and calm movements, The Lord of Lights and Darknessess lunged forward with sharp ferocity.
His blades flashed with golden colours and sparks picked up as he pressed down on the opponent, seemingly Ruler of the Tundra, Commander of the Bones.

What a bummer. Thought Josh as he was struck in the chest by a golden beam that Tomas had conjured out of his palm, or Keys, Josh didn't get a good enough look.
As the boy was pushed back by the beam Tomas had acquired a two swords and was swinging fiercely at Josh, who had luckily readied his sword just in time to defend the attacks.
'You,' Said Josh as he pushed back one of Tomas' swords and side-stepped to avoid the other. 'Are getting on my nerves ever so slightly.'
He parried another swing and the bone arena converted itself in to its ice form again.
I see, the arena changes in the order of Ice, Light, Darkness and then Bone. Handy.

Snow began to fall again and Josh smirked.
'Toodaloo.' He said. The snow devoured him and he tunneled through the white ice underground. He smiled as he left a tidal fall of Ice daggers where he had left Tomas.

Quick and intense, but he did not over extend himself, nor did he put to much skill and power into the attack. He could not let his foe die in such a way, with so little passion. The beam had done little, something that Tomas had suspected, and the ensuring fight equally ineffective.
Suddenly the Ice sprung over all, a blizzard raged, and Josh was gone. Tomas' eyes took a moment to adjust, and he found himself staring at hundreds of icy daggers, suspended in the air by the unseen force that was Josh's Key.
A few drove forward, lashing out at abrupt paces. He loosened his hands, and the swords summoned by his Keys faded, becoming his spheres again. The spheres overlapped his body and stopped the daggers. A few managed to get through, as Tomas' magic wavered. He was starting to reserve power, wanting to enter a State of Being. The few that got through were turned into a chilly powder as they connected with his checkered armour.
A small smile erupted from within his helmet, and he began to look for the Cold One. His opponent was doing well; few had lived up to his expectations, and so far this one had, albeit how low Tomas' expectations were of one so alien to their race. His Keys lusted to absorb the Cold One's form, to devour it, to make its realm his own.
He sent his mind out, scanning the area for his foe. It was not different for him to do this, as he observed the Arena through the shadows. They had been his tool many a time before, and offered a unique look on life, seeing through millions of eyes at once. There were only two words for this; godlike, and, perhaps, omnipotent.
It was hard to find the boy, as if he had completely vanished above ground. That was it though, wasn't it. In a World thickly coated in snow, the domain of this warrior, where was a better place to go? Tomas laughed, and exclaimed, "Clever, Josh, Ruler of the Tundra, the Cold One. But riddle me this! What happens when the Arena passes over? When you are trapped in a world of Light - a thick blanket of my power - suffocating you. No, I will not follow you into your rabbit hole! I will await, at the surface, waiting for you to decide: emerge or die?"

Josh had started to find joy in being an annoying opponent to Tomas, dishing out quick remarks and all that jazz. But as he rose from the ice behind Tomas and listened to him talking in a posh like manner Josh smiled.
'I have absolute no intent on dying today Tomas, but maybe in a thousand or so years I'll consider it.' Josh thought that was a witty remark. Before Tomas could even turn around Josh pointed a finger at him and a glass dome surrounded the god, probably twenty meters wide at least. Then, as Josh continued his attacks, all the ground in the dome simply vanished and Tomas would simply fall down until the arena changed and he would be the one trapped when the arena passed over.

Josh then started a sprint away from the ice dome, gaining enough speed the ice around him built up behind Josh and pushed him forward even faster. If Tomas did escape Josh's trap, the boy would be a safe distance away from him.

Tomas, The King of Twilight, was in synch with all around him. His pulse thrummed with energy, his very being already begining to shift and change. As the Arena cycled so would he. Oh, it had been in his element breifly before, but now Tomas accelerated it forward, as the ice began to form around him. A cry of glee burst, a sound of pure and utter fascination.
The dome finished, and the snow packed tightly beneath his feet merely vanished... and Light appeared. It lifted him, bringing him above the 'solid ground'.
The ice was weakened in this world, and in this world Tomas was superior. His hands flashed, and two beams of Light and Darkness slammed outwards. They carved through the ice barrier, tearing it apart. His eyes flashed almost manically as he brought needless destruction upon that which seperated him from his goal.
He roared, and the two beams grew in their intensity. Tunnels started appearing in the giant glacier, carved by the two awesome beams. A final shout sounded, a sound heard by all, everywhere. He crossed the beams over, and a searing golden one sprang forth. Holes the size of a large house were created. Then it all stopped. Tomas crouched over, tired from the effort of such a grand display. Any foe, god or mortal, would fear him now.
A savage snarl set on his face, he lurched in the direction he guessed that Josh had headed in. Thin streams of Light could've been seen by those adept, as they flowed into Tomas. He was becoming one with the area.
"Oh, don't I have a suprise for you, my sneaky little ferret. You will be dead in my hands, I swear on my Realm. Josh, of The Cold, I will have your Keys."

Tricky, thought Josh as he watched his ice dome explode and Tomas burst out of it, letting out a scream of power and making some sort of giant golden beam blast through the several places of the arena. But not as tricky as I.
Josh simply watched Tomas from where he was, he had stopped moving a fair minute or two ago to trick the man and it appeared to work. Tomas had shot off into the completely wrong direction and Josh did the smirk of a successful plan, which was barely used, he had shocking plans if it wasn't a life or death situation.

Josh took a deep breath and his bones returned to their normal forms and then into more thinner ones. Then he covered everything but his head in ice, since it made him more powerful to be surrounded by it. His Keys, however, just took on a more cold and icy form.
"Now," He muttered as he put out both his hands. "I will fight." A spectacular sword of the bluest ice formed in his right hand and pulsed out of fog from its incredibly cold temperature. Strapped to the lower part of his left arm was a kite shield made of, yet again, blue ice. It too pulsed with fog.
Josh then rose up his sword and a beam of Ice struck him from the sky, giving away his location and making the ice covering his body turn into brilliant armour, as well as adding a helmet that could only reveal his eyes to Tomas.
"Come to me Tomas!" He roared, holding his sword with two hands.

A beacon, streaking into the sky, piercing into infinity.
Blue light, so blinding that it almost hurt Tomas to look at it. A roar, so powerful that it could be heard from miles away swept through the thin air, drilling into his eardrums.
"Come to me, Tomas!"
The strength behind the voice was so strong, like a beast screaming with hate and rage. It sparked a light in Tomas' eyes.
"Is it time for me finally to meet in battle? Not to prance around the edges of the fray?" he whispered, so soft one would have thought that, that's all it was... a thought.
The blue beam was copied, as another pillar of light shot into the sky. It was too painful to look at, a killer of retina, and it continued to reach up. As a second passed it would intensify with its brightness.
A shout, much like a lion, burst from deep within Tomas' throat. His armour cracked and brilliant light tore through. It shattered, shards spinning of in every direction. Underneath, a more pure armour remained. Constant, monotone, white remained. It was sleeker, fitting to Tomas' body more than his previous set. The golden helmet was not replaced by this blast.
"It is time, isn't it. It's time to fight!"
Tomas' white pillar faded, becoming more of a sparkling shimmer that hung over his armour, while his black Key morphed entirely. It transformed into a silver sword, shaped so that it only cut on one side.
He raised this sword above his head, twirled it once, and muttered a few words under his breath. Then, he sprung forward, as if on a horse, rushing towards his enemy.

"Copy cat much?" Muttered Josh to himself, now using a much more powerful and imposing voice. But even so, Tomas's beam of light did look very impressive compared to Josh, and his powerful eyes started to faintly throb with pain. And then it was gone.
In the distance there was a flash and Josh watched Tomas rush towards him. Josh tightened the his grip on the sword he held, then as Tomas had gotten close enough he threw the sword into the air and leaped after it. He met it in the air with both hands, then brought it crashing down in to the ground, sending a great burst of thousands of icicles around him as well as some sticking to his armour and morphing with it. This caused his shoulder guards, boots and gloves to grow sharp blades of ice on them. Josh then rose from his crouching position and commanded his Keys with his mind:
"Give me more power."

He raised his sword, quickly pointed it at Tomas, then smashed it into the ground, sending a wave of ice and sharpened bones at his enemy.

White; it filled his vision. Some acrobatics and theatrics, not unlike himself, and two attacks. This warrior already seemed more imposing. When you were this strong, as Tomas knew, it was about how good you made yourself look. He splayed his palms, and a thick shield enveloped him, causing any of the icicles that came with the first wave to evaporate quickly as they met the barrier.
The ice was like a blanket, a wall, and Tomas smashed through it. It was strange, his vision turning from that powdery-white to a more pure one. He'd made it through.
He spun, skidding in the air, if such a notion makes sense to lesser minds. He faced Josh, and a grin broke through his face. Then an explosion, a huge pillar of more snow and bones rushing towards him. The snow, more thick, ice, hurtled, chunks of bone spraying from the sides. A brief moment of... would its name be wonder... crossed his face, then rage.
His fist glowed and a glove of light wrapped itself around his right hand. He howled, a noise like a leopard, and burst forwards. A colossal roar ensued. The pillar curled, becoming a crescent shape. Another crescent, the shape formed by the glove, golden, pulsed as it slammed against the white-grey one.
There was a puff, an explosion of dust, snow, and ash. Little particles of light, like phoenix down, fell from the sky. At first nothing could be seen through this cloud. A moment of silence passed, then two glowing golden ellipses piercing the cloud appeared. Everything seemed to stand still, as Tomas stepped out of the swirling particles, a figure of white emerging from the grey.
Showmanship: tick.
He put his hands to the side, and two thunderbolts cracked through the sky, landing into his palms. Two balls crackled there, sizzling with intense heat, boiling with a pure power that only the two prime elements can bring. A twirl and the Lord of Winter was discovered. Tomas thrust with left hand, sending that ball of lightning speeding towards him, travelling at light-speed. The ball underwent an abrupt change halfway through its flight, returning back into the jagged thunderbolt it used to be.
Tomas touched to the ground, and slammed his right palm into the 'earth' that he trod. The lightning spread like an infectious snake, breaking into five separate beams. They slithered out at an alarming rate, assembling into the five points of a pentagon around Josh. They flashed out of the ground, making a large bolt in the middle where they crossed together. Another bolt of lightning dropped from the sky on this point.
Tomas smiled briefly, confident that he had met his foe with equal strength and power.
