Hello all, been a while since I felt compelled to write down my thoughts and this latest update was enough to get the gears churning in my mind once again.

So there's a few prevailing theories right now on who the cloaked figure could be wrapped under Luxu's arm in today's scene titled "A Seed of Light". In this post I'd like to explore the angle of Ava being the identity of the so-called "True Dandelion".

So let's dive right into it shall we ?

The scene begins with Luxu entering a room we've seen a few times before with the incapacitated unidentified personage held under his arm. We know from past scenes that there are at least two identical versions of this room: The first being a data replica which serves as a gateway between the data Daybreak Town and the real Daybreak Town, and the second being the real version which hosts the true "lifeboats" which served to usher Malificent back to her original time. We've also seen Apprentice Xehanort perform experiments with them which resulted in Kairi being transported to Destiny Islands. Thanks to these two examples as well as the explanations given by Darkness, we can now safely say that we have a basic understanding of the Lifeboat's function and purpose.

Essentially the lifeboats serve as a time machine with a few caveats. Most notably, the passenger of the lifeboat will have their body stripped away and be reduced to only a heart during transport. To overcome this problem and arrive safely at your destination, a waypoint is required which must meet two requirements: There must be a person with memories of you present at the destination, and an object must be present which serves as a conduit for recreating your body. Examples of such objects include Malificent's cloak as seen during her revival in KH2, or more recently, The Master of Master's eye embedded in the no-name Keyblade. Which we now know he has been using to move freely to various points in history.

So with that groundwork out of the way, let's first establish which room is Luxu standing in, and more importantly when exactly does this scene take place. In order to determine this, we'll need to examine the various instances that we've seen of this room so far.

The first such appearance was in the data version of the room. This is the room that Malificent first arrived in which allowed her to access the real world. When she first enters the room, we can see that there are 7 intact pods. It is here that she encounters Lauriam and a battle ensues.

Malificent enter data room.jpg

After the battle we can see the pod on the far right is missing. This is the pod Malificent used to exit the data Daybreak Town. Also the center pod was damaged and is presumably unusable. This leaves 5 pods which can be used to escape from the data Daybreak Town.

Data pod room.jpg

In the next scene, we see Malificent has arrived in the same room in the real world. We can tell that the rooms are different because the center pod is undamaged, and the far right pod is present once again. Darkness then instructs Malificent to enter the far right pod once more. While we don't actually see her enter the pod, it is presumed that she complies with Darkness and arrives thereafter back in her own time during KH2.

Malificent escape pod.jpg

Finally we arrive to our scene in question. The far right pod is missing, and the center pod is undamaged. With this information we can answer our original questions. The center pod being undamaged tells us that we are standing in the real world version of this room. We can also determine that this scene must take place after Malificent returned to her time since the far right pod is missing.

Luxu pod room.JPG

So we've established a time and a place for the scene, but let's dive a bit deeper and see if we can't learn more about what exactly is going on here.

Let's rewind a bit and remember the timeline of events that took place immediately preceding this scene as well as events potentially happening concurrently.

After the battle with Malificent, Lauriam is incapacitated in the data version of the pod room. We get a scene in which Lauriam has a strange dream involving his sister Strelitzia. When he wakes up he rushes to warn the other Dandelion leaders of what had just transpired. Before entering the room, Lauriam overhears Brain and the others talking and finally his worst fears are confirmed when he learns that his sister was killed which sends him into a rage. Ventus then enters the room and confesses that it was he who killed Strelitzia. However, we quickly realize that Ven was not the one at fault as Darkness finally makes his appearance.

Darkness appears.JPG

Darkness then reveals that he had been here all along working from the shadows and the Dandelions had simply failed to notice its presence until now. He also explains that there are other entities of darkness just like himself. Brain then asks if Darkness is the only such entity in the room, to which Darkness replies "I am".

many darknesses.JPG

A battle ensues between Darkness and the other wielders. Ventus after falling unconscious briefly, wakes up and learns that after Darkness had left his body that what remained within him was pure light and that just as Darkness had manipulated him, so too could he use the Light to reshape Darkness. He lashes out toward Darkness, exclaiming that he would transform it into something that they could defeat. If we were to speculate further, we can surmise that this is the moment that Vanitas was originally created and subsequently joined with Ventus and resided in his heart until the events of BBS.

Ven pure light.JPG

So how does all this play into our theory ? Remember that all these events are transpiring immediately after Malificent had fought with Lauriam and used the pod in the data room as well as the real Lifeboat to return to her own time. When Luxu walks into the room, the pod Malificent used to escape is gone, and therefore this scene must occur after the above mentioned events. This might lead one to assume that the scene transpires after the conflict with Darkness is resolved, and Luxu arrived sometime later to collect Ventus, sending him forward in time through the pod to arrive sometime before BBS.

Simple enough explanation and ties everything up nicely right ? Not so fast.

This is a very deep rabbit hole indeed and I'm sure by now you're starting to feel a bit like Alice as Laurence Fishburne would say, but stick with me.

If you're reading this I'm sure you know that the story of Daybreak Town extends across multiple titles and indeed multiple realities. We have the presumptive "real" world which transpires before the keyblade war event that leads to the disappearance of the Master of Masters and the Foretellers. We have a dream reality that was created as a training ground for the Dandelions to be able to cross into other worldlines (the unchained realm). And we have the world of Union X itself, a datascape created by the Master of Masters, the purpose of which has only recently been made clear in this most recent update.

three stages.JPG

The Master explains that the datascape has 3 stages. First, keyblade wielders are gathered and are made to fear one another, creating a conflict that results in their numbers dwindling. Finally when there are only a handful of wielders left, those that remain are placed in a sealed off world with the Darkness and must learn how to use the lifeboats to escape back into the real world.

This is a scenario that should sound familiar to you. It's because this is exactly what has transpired over the course of the entire Daybreak Town saga. Yes including X[chi].

Let that sink in a minute ... ok good ? Let's continue.

Now let's ask ourselves KH community, is Nomura the type of madman who would write a story that ends in everything being a simulation the entire time ? I think we all know the answer to that question.

So accepting that to be the case, we must now come to grips with the reality that all the instances of Daybreak Town, X[chi], Unchained, and Union X have all transpired within the same Datascape the entire time. How could this possibly make sense you might be wondering. Well I believe the evidence has been staring us in the face the whole time.

Throughout our time in Daybreak Town, we've periodically been given what appear to be flashback scenes between Luxu and the Master of Masters. Typically we see the Master and Luxu conversing in a control room of sorts with many large monitors which display various in-game locations. If we assume that these scenes are indeed flashbacks of a time before the keyblade war, and that the scope of the datascape consists only of events that occur after the keyblade war, then we should expect all of the Master and Luxu's dialogue to be contextualized such that the datascape and related events are always referenced as occurring sometime in the future. However, if we examine the dialogue, there are many instances where this doesn't seem to be the case. Rather, the context of the dialogue seems to suggest that events are happening presently.

Luxu worried.JPG

In this scene for example, Luxu expresses concern for the Dandelions, to which the Master responds that they'll be alright because their futures are written in the Book of Prophecies. Luxu doesn't seem convinced and questions the Master's indifference towards the children who were supposedly chosen for such an important role in the future. To reassure Luxu, the Master decides to allow Luxu to observe the children himself. If we look at this scene assuming that it is taking place in the past, then we would have to conclude that the Master is pre-emptively making this decision and there are not yet any children for Luxu to observe. However, things aren't what they seem to be.

Let's say for a moment that this scene is indeed in the past, before the Dandelions actually entered the datascape, and this control room was just prepared in advance and is simply monitoring an empty datascape at the time of this scene. The fact remains that the Master had not yet decided to allow Luxu to observe the Dandelions until this moment. The control room itself was already prepared for someone to make observations at some point in the future. If the control room was not made for Luxu specifically to make observations, then the next logical person to do so would be the Master himself. If the Master was planning to disappear from the world prior to the Dandelions entering the datascape, then he would have no need for such an observation room to exist in the first place.

A logical explanation would be that the control room always existed, and the Master had been using it to observe events unfolding in the datascape, even prior to the Dandelions being chosen. This would encompass the time period before the keyblade war, because we know that the last Dandelion leader was not decided until just before Strelitzia's death. Therefore it would not be unreasonable to conclude that the events of X[chi] also occurred inside the datascape.

Still not convinced ?

Let's go back to the scene where the Master is explaining the purpose of the datascape.

The Master mentions the three stages of the datascape, but also mentions a final step that is necessary for the plan to be considered a success. That is, all seven of the lifeboats must be used. When that happens, the datascape will have fulfilled its purpose and the world will end.

seven lifeboats.JPG

In the extended "Case of Luxu" scene where the Master is giving Luxu the task of safekeeping the black box, The Master whispers the contents of the box in Luxu's ear, and Luxu asks "But why?". The Master reluctantly offers a hint as to the purpose of the box in which he explains the circumstances which will bring about the end of the world.

Luxu's hint.JPG

"When darkness strikes at dawn and the lifeboat departs, this world will have fulfilled its purpose. If that happens, you have to see it through to the end, and take a corridor to a new world as soon as you can."

We need to carefully examine this scene to fully understand what's happening here.

This is the same scene that was originally portrayed in X[chi] back cover, in which Luxu is given his role. This is a scene that presumably takes place immediately before the start of the keyblade war, and therefore just before the fight with Ava that ushered in the start of the keyblade war. However, the scenario that the Master is warning Luxu about is the same one he described to Darkness which would see an end to the datascape and which we are currently witnessing play out in Union X.

If the Master was describing an event that would only effect a virtual world, then there should be no reason to be concerned with Luxu's wellbeing, and no need to offer the warning to escape. However, in the same breath, the Master also says "this world will have fulfilled its purpose." The Master was warning Luxu about a danger that would be coming to this world, the one that the two of them were both presently standing in. It's interesting that this scene in particular does not take place in the control room, but the Master's study within Daybreak Town, within the datascape.

Luxu finally had all the pieces to the Master's plan and his role. The next time we see him would be sitting a top that fated hill, the Master's final words circling in his head "This world exists to nurture the Dandelions, our little seeds of light, so they can be sown into the future, where they CAN stop the darkness. Then, the sun will finally set on this duskless dawn." And at last the moment for Ava to arrive had come.

ava.JPG

Ava begins questioning Luxu on what he has been doing all this time. She had been searching everywhere for any trace of Luxu and the Master, but they were no where to be found until now. Unbeknownst to Ava, the two had been absent from the datascape for some time and had been observing events unfold from the comfort of their control room in the real world.

ava and luxu.JPG

Luxu proceeds to tell Ava the truth of the Master's intentions, and she responds at first with confusion, but then with anger and disbelief. She accuses Luxu of being the traitor, a lie told by the Master to sew the seeds of mistrust among the keyblade wielders, just as he described to Darkness long ago. Finally a battle ensues between the two, the outcome of which and the fate of Ava remain unknown to this day.

And finally we've reached the conclusion of our theory.

I suspect that Luxu was the victor of this battle, and Ava was incapacitated. Motivated by the Master's final words about the true purpose of this world, Luxu believed the Master had entrusted him to be the one to fulfill that purpose. He picked up the defeated foreteller, and opened a corridor to return to the real world and entered the room with the 6 remaining lifeboats. There he would encounter Darkness who had just helped Malificent escape moments before. Confused by Luxu's presence, Darkness asks what he was doing there when there shouldn't be any keyblade masters left, to which Luxu replies "I stayed".

This part gets a little confusing, so bear with me here.

Traditionally, as I mentioned previously, the story of Daybreak Town is broken up into three parts, X[chi], Unchained X, and Union X. Each being a distinct reality unto themselves. However, this theory proposes that in fact all three of these realms are actually part of the same datascape. All of which are designed as part of the three stages mentioned by the Master, to fulfill the purpose of seeding the future with the light of seven dandelions. As such, these 3 distinct time periods are easily traversable by both the Master and his apprentice Luxu simply by opening a corridor and moving between them. The "real" world that contains the pod that Malificent used to return to her own time also existed inside this datascape. Since the "real world" in this case simply refers to the world as it existed prior to the keyblade war of the Daybreak Town era, which was simply the first stage of the simulation. If a simulation within a simulation or traversing through multiple simulations to arrive in another world seems far fetched to you, then I invite you to play re:coded, and/or DDD.

After thinking about it a bit more (and not at 2am), I do want to revise the part of the theory that I think was a bit incoherent on my part.

This would be the part where I state that the pod that Malificent used to return to her original time was also inside the datascape. Actually I think this doesn't make much sense. I do think there is a "real world" that is distinct from the datascape, and the scene where Luxu is carrying the white shrouded character is taking place in the real world but also after Malificent used the pod.

So then I now must explain how the fight between Luxu and Ava could have occurred shortly before Malificent using the pod which chronologically occurred much later in the story.

I think what actually would be more plausible is for the passage of time within the datascape to be flowing at a much faster rate than in the real world. If this is the case, then it's possible for all of the events of Union X to occur in a matter of minutes or hours relative to the real world.

So in that case, it's entirely possible for Malificent to have used the pod to escape before the fight between Luxu and Ava concluded in the real world.

If I haven't lost you yet, then let's wrap things up in as nice of a bow as you can with Kingdom Hearts (lol)

Without going into too much of another tangent about Melody of Memory, just understand that it's heavily implied in the epilogue that all of the foretellers with the exception of Ava escaped into a separate reality after the keyblade war referred to as "unreality" or otherwise known as Quadratum. This is why Darkness was confused when Luxu appeared because he assumed that all of the foretellers had left the simulation as that is what he understood would be the case upon skimming through the Book of Prophecies. However, as Luxu would soon point out, Darkness did not have a complete picture of events because the Master did not give him sufficient opportunity to read the book in full.

darkness confused.JPG

Believing that he was fulfilling the purpose given to him by the Master, Luxu activated the central pod, and placed an unconscious Ava inside. Proclaiming her as the "True Dandelion", Ava would be transported to the future as a heart. However, without Luxu ever being given a proper explanation on how the pods functioned, it's unclear as to when, or in what state Ava would arrive in the future. Without a proper medium and a person with memories of her in the future, it's hard to say what became of her. We can speculate that it's possible she ended up in Quadratum with the other foretellers, however that seems unlikely since she was unable to be summoned back with the other foretellers during the KH3 epilogue. Luxu's lack of understanding of the rules of using the pod becomes apparent at this point when he says "Looks like Ava didn't make it afterall". When pressed by Gula on Ava's apparent exclusion from the plan, Luxu replies "As if. Ava had her own mission, and she carried it out". The mission being one she did not have a choice in accepting. The mission that Luxu believed the Master had given him to fulfill by sending "The True Dandelion" Ava into the future.

I finished writing this at 2am, and I'm sure I've left things out, but I'm happy to answer any questions to fill in those things if people are curious.

Thanks again for reading

Who knows if any of this is true, it's my feelings after the update and remember, theorycrafting is for FUN :D

Thank you for sharing such a long theory! I particularly like how you tie it to the line "ava didn't make it after all".

I too was wondering if what's in the cloak was Ava defeated by Luxu, but what bothers me is the timeline of events, since that confrontation happens as the start of the war, and we later see Ava fight in the war.

Do you have an idea how Ava's presence in the battle field could be explained?

There's many possible ways to explain the presence of the foretellers at the kbgy battlefield, but I actually think the best way to explain Ava's particular situation is to revisit another theory of mine regarding time travel.

Let's recall the scene where Brain receives the book of prophecies from Ava. To save you some reading I'll link the scene here.

Ava gives Brain the book of prophecies as well as a note with the names of the other Dandelion leaders written on it. The name of the intended recipient of the book was circled in red on this note. We know from this scene that Brain was not the intended recipient and that Ava was the one who decided to make this alteration in the Master's plan.

Next if we take a look at this scene from X back cover, we can see Ava's state of mind prior to the keyblade war.

When Gula confides in Ava regarding his struggle to find the traitor, she brushes him off saying that she needs to "keep with the Master's teachings". When Gula asks her to break the rules and help him summon Kingdom Hearts, Ava says "summoning Kingdom Hearts is forbidden ... the Master forbid it for a reason".

In order to understand the importance of the contrast between these two scenes we have to line them up in chronological order. Remember that X back cover ends just a few days prior to the events leading up to Strelitzia's death and the Keyblade war. And the scene where Brain is given the Book of Prophecies takes place 4 years before Union X. If we know that Union X takes place immediately after the keyblade war, then it follows that the scene where Brain receives the Book of Prophecies takes place approximately 4 years before the keyblade war.

So how is it that on the one hand we have a scene 4 years prior to the keyblade war, where Brain is given the book of prophecies in an act of defiance against the Master, and on the other hand a scene a few days prior to the keyblade war, where Ava seems to be a devoted follower of the Master, and refuses to participate in acts that he has forbidden. It would almost seem that we are dealing with two versions of the same character with vastly different opinions of the Master. Thankfully we do know of one event that would cause this to be the case.

When Luxu reveals the Master's true intentions to her, it completely alters her view of the Master. It is this event that triggers her change of heart that motivates her want to alter the Master's plan. There's just one problem: she already gave Brain the Book of Prophecies 4 years ago. So how is it possible that Ava would choose to defy the Master 4 years prior to her learning of the Master's intentions in the first place ? Well in Kingdom Hearts the answer is simple: Time travel.

So the answer to how Ava could seemingly be at the kbgy battlefield despite being allegedly defeated by Luxu and sent forward in time through the pod prior to the battle taking place is that there are 2 Ava's in this time period. One that traveled backwards in time to give Brain the Book of Prophecies, and one that was sent forward in time by Luxu. Based on Ava's dialogue with the player at the kbgy, I'd guess that this is probably Ava after she went backwards in time, just based off of her attitude towards the player. She seems much more callous than usual and warns of "Secrets that no one should ever know"

Ava secrets.JPG

Anyway, that's my theory on the matter, but who knows. :)

When Luxu replies to Darkness in the pod room that "I stayed" what he means is that he stayed in this reality while the rest of the foretellers (excluding Ava) escaped to Quadratum.

Honestly, the timing of various flashbacks really doesn't make a lick of sense when it comes to the in-game timeline.

What it does align with is irl time; about 4 years prior to that Brain flashback was when KHX's final episode was released and the Keyblade War took place. That would coincide with Ava meeting with the new Union leaders just before everything went to shit.

The epiphany I've just had takes care of any discrepancy in time between Union X and X[chi] because even if it was 4 years ago from the perspective of those inside the datascape, it was still only a few days ago outside the datascape.

It is still necessary for Ava to have time traveled in order to give Brain the BoP however, because giving him the book occurs before the fight with Luxu and she would not have decided to defy the master before fighting Luxu.

This is a cool theory, though I do wonder how there being 3 Daybreak Towns would factor into this whole thing. I'd think the dandelion would already assume they're in the real work upon leaving their current one.

Excellent theory ! I had began to write something myself also and I find your reasoning really clear. :)

I would like to add, as a floral reference, that a "dandelion" is actually the full flower, constituted of many "Pappus" (the little fluffy things attached to it).
I believe that when Ava first gave the name of "Dandelion" she wanted to refer to the "Pappus" that would need to fly away, as carried by the wind.
In that case, the true dandelion could probably be Ava because she's the one who gathered them all, the center of the flower, to which all the "Pappus" are connected/attached.

Also, the way Luxu speaks of Ava during KH3 epilogue heavily implies that the reason she didn't come back is because she fulfilled her role and was reconstructed in another era. Although he seems a little bit surprised so I think he doesn't know where/when she ended up.

I know that this is a little late, but I'm watching Back Cover right now and haven't actually watched or played anything of X, Unchained X, or Union X and just know stuff from reading forums and looking at the reddit along with khwiki, but during a scene in Back Cover, Ava is talking to Ephemer about how she is doubting the Master and starting to think that everybody should make their own decisions. This is the scene where Ephemer asks her about the book and she then tells him about how she wishes all of the Unions could work together. I'm wondering if in your theory, this could be when she arrived in the past because of how Ephemer talks about how she is not acting like herself.

Something else that I just thought of about your theory is if she is in fact Subject X and the reason that Subject X had disappeared one day is because she had commited the taboo of changing the past like Sora had done.

Another thing, I've seen theories that if Ava is Subject X, then she could've been meant to act as a waypoint for everybody but had ended up at the wrong point, ie. Radiant Garden, and as a result everybody had ended up at different points in time and different places. The reason everybody had ended up where they were could have potentially occured as a result of Xehanort's time shenanigans and that's the reason they ended up where they did.

Also, ignore the post before the last one because I had forgotten about the fact that Luxu had taken Subject X away and that could also support this theory because he didn't want anybody to know about the Age of Fairy Tales and ge knew that if Ava were to regain her memory, then he would be in trouble and when he said what he did in the epilogue, he meant that he guessed that she hadn't recovered from what he did to her.

This could also suppirt the Ava is Kairi's grandmother theories and the reason that Subject X ended up in Radiant Garden if she wasn't Ava, (in which case she is likely Skuld, which could actually have her be part of a "Celestrial Trio" along with Axel/Lea and Saix/Isa, but that's beyond the point) is due to Ava and her memories acting as a waypoint for them. That could still keep in Luxu removing Subject X so that people couldn't learn about the Age of Fairy Tales and he may have been unaware of Ava for some reason keeping her memories which is why he wouldn't have gone after her. The purpose that Luxu said that Ava had fulfilled could also potentially be being in the future and acting as a waypoint for the Dandelions. Also, I just thought about something in regards to all of them losing their memories while traveling to the future and it's that Maleficient kept her memories from her time in the past along with people who theorize that Larxene/Elrena never actually lost her memories due to how she was talking about having joined the Organization to be "along for the ride" which a lot of people think means is her having joined because she is in love with Marluxia/Lauriam and that also bring why she followed hom to the future. Sorry about making this so long, this is just my first time posting something to a forum for Kingdom Hearts or really anything and I just ended up unloading all of my personal theories that I have come up with based off other peoples' theories because of the fact that I don't have people with whom I can talk to about it even though I really love this series.

Would also be poetic if Ventus (wind) was somehow the one who carried the dandelions away to plant their "seeds of light".

Something that I just 12th hought about in regards to the title "A Seed of Light". The title could be referring to how this person being sent foward is meant to act as a waypoing for all the dandelions and the seed part is referring to this.

If Luxu is waypoint for Foretellers & MoM, who could retain their memories and provide the medium? If it's Ava, won't she lose her memories? Subject X (Ava or Skuld) lost her memories, Ventus seemingly lost his memories, Lauriam & Elrena apparently took a shortcut since they didn't age all that much up to the point Sora encounters Marluxia and Larxene... Ephemer's a possible candidate, but my personal opinion is Brain. Ephemer clearly takes an unusual method of having influence in the future, but headcanon is Brain takes the long way but doesnt make it all the way, but is a waypoint for at least one dandelion to become the next waypoint, builds a mansion in Twilight Town, and lives the rest of his life from there. Maybe. There is still the question of how he passes on his keyblade.

I've seen a good bit of people believing that for some reason Elrena/Larxene ended up retaining her memories and I personally think that if that is the case, then she could've potentially been heartbroken by Lauriam/Marluxia, potentially because he doesn't remember her which could also potentially be why she fell to darkness, or she fell to darkness due to heartbreak caused by Lauriam falling to darkness. My point is that I think that the reason that she went from a kind, shy girl is because she was using her current personality as a mask and as a way to help keep people away. I think that she was acting that way because she was afraid that if she started to care again, then she would get hurt once more. I think that this is the reason why when she dies in 3, she seems to be acting more meek, she is showing how she truly feels, along with the reason why she talks about not wanting a heart because she is afraid that if she has a heart, then she will get hurt again. I also noticed that in Arendelle, when she is telling Sora that Elsa needs to work it out on her own, that it sounds personal, although I'm not sure what that would mean. Also, in regards to Brain, he is highly implied to be Eraqus' ancestor and the one who built Scala ed Caelum, and his descendants likely just kept passing the keyblade to each other. This could also go with the fact that someone has to stay in the past and people believe Brain is the one to do that, a long with Ephemer staying behind in the Datascape. The thibg of Brain making Scala ed Caelum could also explain why the belltower from Daybreak Town was in the background during the underwater segment of the boss fight with Goat-a-nort. I honestly don't know what to say about the age thing though because time and aging in general is a wierd thing in Kingdom Hearts, like the fact that Terra doesn't seem to have aged whatsoever even though it has been over a decade since BBS and even after the time when he had been split into Ansem and Xemnas, nobodies still agwe andc that age is reflected whe n they're recompleted like with Lea and Isa.

Idk if we're really ready to speculate using Elrena/Larxene's personal feelings or lack thereof to get a satisfying answer about anything, though good point about Terra.

Maybe this is worth a whole other thread, but if Luxu is the one among MoM's apprentices to "stay behind", and Brain ends up staying behind (or more likely, getting left behind) for the dandelions and is at least Eraqus' ancestor and one of the next keyblade masters after the keyblade war and has something to do with Scala ad Caelum and passing on Master's Defender that eventually goes onto Eraqus, 2 questions: 1. How does Brain make good on his vow to "become the virus"? 2. Who built and decorated the Twilight Town mansion with unicorns/pegasi, and MAY have installed computer systems? (It probably was just DiZ, but I have the feeling the infrastructure was there previously)

Based off of how you said unicorn/pegasi, that makes me think of Ira since his motif is a unicorn but I have no clue how that could end up there and I also never actually noticed a pegasus/unicorn theme.

We know that Luxu had stayed behind because of how his job was to stay behind and watch stuff all throughout. He had just kept stealing other people's bodies for himself like Xehanort had tried to do with Terra.

Also, the thing about the vow to become a virus, I'm wondering if maybe he'll try to find some way to free the people trapped in the virtual Daybreak Town, especially if Ephemer gets left behind in the virtual world like a lot of people think will happen. I just thought of the possibility that Brain could somehow be responsible for Ephemer and the other dandelions helping during the fight with the giant demon tide and in that way he is acting as a virus by helping stop the light from being consumed by the darkness. That c ould also be why during the chess game they have Eraqus doing the light from the past move, to represent his ancestor Brain being responsible. I have no clue if this could be the case but I think that it could potentially make sense.

I'm wondering if just the act of Brain staying behind could potentially be considered him acting as a virus since all of the new Union Leaders were meant to go to the future but he doesn't.

Maybe, he could be responsible for Elrena getting the opportunity instead of himself. Though the "virus" line made me feel like Nomura would pull something crazy, like Brain was the MCP all along xD I just get a Brain = Data World, Ephemer = Sleeping World vibe.

One more update and I think we'll have enough context to make more solid speculation on a lot of things.

Yeah, if you check out the Old Mansion in KH2, there's a sufficiently noticeable winged horned horse motif, and throughout the series, the Mansion is an abandoned mansion from the beginning, even before DiZ begins using it. I also feel its use in harboring a Data Twilight Town may relate to whatever previous use it had. If it wasn't for Master's Defender, I'd swear Old Man Brain lived there and considered himself the new Unicornis Union Leader, and did experiments on Data Worlds.

Well, I don't think it's impossible that it's both. Considering Master Eraqus bestows Master Aqua with the Master's Defender after his "death" and guardianship over Land of Departure, claiming that his master did the same to him (can't recall if it was both the Master's Defender and Land of Departure or just Land of Departure) then I wouldn't be surprised if Brain abandoned his keyblade in Scala and lived the rest of his days in Twilight Town.

Pretty sure the master Eraqus speaks of is Master Odin, though I don't feel like Master Odin is Brain, but instead Luxu, but the truth is Eraqus must most likely gain Master's Defender from Brain, or a wielder who it was passed down to from Brain.

We really need more stuff from Elrena because from what I've heard, she like never appears and we have no clue what she's doing. When it comes to Nomura, we really don't know what kinds of plot twists he'll end up throwing at us.
