It's almost the turn of the decade, folks, and you know what that means in the music community; a fuckton of lists about everything imaginable and everything you don't give a shit about. So I figured I'd get a jump on the ball (the year's almost halfway over, whatever) and ask everyone what their top albums of the 2000s are at the moment. It's all liable to change, course, but a shortlist is always just as cool as a list you've actually thought about.

Feel free to tell everyone why you love said albums too. I'm not going to because fuck you and your need to understand why my music is better than yours, but if you want to try to compel the rest of this shithole to love 3Oh3 as much as you do, go for it.

Also, following this post, no elitism, no hating, no Galen. I know your vices, KHI.

10. We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed - Los Campesinos

Not really sure about your choices for Modest Mouse and Bloc Party. I've always been pretty partial to The Moon and Antarctica and Another Weekend in the City, personally. Guess that second one's not much of an album, though.

I don't know, Building Nothing Out of Something just grabs me, you know? I like The Moon and Antarctica a lot (it would have been my choice if I hadn't picked Building Nothing), but it just doesn't seem to get me as much. I haven't been able to find Another Weekend in the City anywhere. I've looked over quite a bit of the internet. I've heard it's great, though.

Another Weekend is actually better than Silent Alarm, shockingly. I really wish they had put that out instead of the actual, you know, album. I'll go back and listen to Building Something Out of Nothing, I still have yet to fall in love with the first half of MoMo's disco.

I agree with this. A weekend in the city I think capture really well the best of both worlds, those being their normal rockish stuff (Silent Alarm) and the electro (Intimacy)

As for me off the top of my head without going through my music selection cause iTunes isnt working...

3. Gotye - Like Drawing Blood
2. The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute, or De-loused.
1. Foals - Antidotes

Eh I give up, someone feel free to help me fill in the rest. Oh and Its not really in order.....

are no good rekkirds of this decade.
i hate music.

i can't make neat lists. i like most shit boris have put out, gold and green by ooioo, the ballin ass les rallizes dénudés bootlegs that came out this decade (idk if that counts), also point by cornelius and takako minekawa's fun 9 (pronounced 'funk'... cool. also i'm cheating sort of because it came out in 1999, but that was a decade ago right) lol japan. non jap shit: hissing fauna are you the destroyer? by of montreal (hey mom, i'm being indie on the internet), gorillaz' debut, deltron 3030, madvillainy, the two ep's by smokey & miho, blemish by david sylvian, royksopp's melody am, scott walker's the drift... It's really sad when the the majority of the stuff i like from this decade is japanese.

I have listened to BTB&M. I love the instrumentation, but the growling vocals are a huge turn-off for me.
You prefer someone with a creepy chick voice?
