Wow, after so long I've actually READ something all the way in the forum. Anyway, I think I'll throw in my two cents worth into this thread (of which I really think should go into the discussion thread..=/)
Now, for "gangsta"s, the style in my honestly opinion has got to go. As SHOL had said, showing around all their "bling"(money, jewelery and etc for those that don't know) are just begging to be mugged. It's like giving someone a reason to kill/hurt you. Not to mention that the only people that will be with you in your self-proclaimed "gang" will most likely just be waiting to take everything you have shown them.
Sadly enough, women are treated as if they are one's property now-a-days, and it's sickening. I've walked through the halls of my school, looking at all the people trying to be "gangsta" and pinching girls asses as the walk along. This bothers me, and yet there's not much that one guy can do(Note that I am one of the most feared white guys in the school. Something about my uncanny strength and intelligence. =O) However, when I'm talking to one of my friends who is considered "property" to them, the person that thinks she is always taps me on the shoulder and asks me what I'm doing talking to "his girl". One thing I've noticed around here, at least, most people that act "gangsta" are cowards and if confronted with some danger should back away. (Don't try it though if you can't take the pain of consequences if you should be wrong)
Now, about nice guys getting walked all over. Yes, we are. (Gasp I said I'm one of the nice guys! Can you believe it!? Well it's still true anyway.) Personally, however I'm not blaming anyone, I think it's part of the girls part in these areas. They let them think that they are great when they act this way and therefore they continue on and take it to new extremes. And as someone said, it's to the point where to have a specific job with these people that act "gangsta" that it seems they need to and will get fired if they don't.
Now, on to their clothing. I must say it's the worst clothing I have ever seen in my 15 yearold life. Wearing three layers of black in the summer, WITH their pants always falling down I feel sorry for anyone next to them that has to smell it. BTW, the cologne is horrible too, they spray "Axe" which would be fine if they didn't continuesly spray it for about a minute on themselves. Then it just becomes irritating and often makes people light headed.
I almost pity the ones that try to be gangsta to be popular in school. Since later on in life, we need SPEECH skills, which they obviously lack thanks to their slang terms. We also need to be somewhat intelligent, which they seem to lack for the most part. They're going to run out of options really quickly if they keep it up.
On to the music now! As many have said it is basically excessive swearing and talking about girls being "property" and getting into their pants. This should not even be considered a genre of music, but that's only my opinion.
Everything stated is only from my standpoint. Any gangsta see this and will likely have different responses. Oh, and just to add in, thanks to gangstas we kind-hearted guys are becoming a dieing breed.
