I’m rewatching the entire series and… man. Doctor Who was just so progressive despite the time. I am not surprised at all that it became even more inclusive recently. Well, besides one usage of the word “gay” in series 1, but I’ll chalk that up to 2005 being 2005.

That was RTD wanting to reflect how young people talked at the time. Which, while not necessarily good, was accurate.
