I was originally going to wait for this chapter but hey, I couldn't so... Here enjoy a very long chapter, written by me! lol You have been warned...
Riku and Sora looked at eachother. Both kinda lost after all that had happened. One minute they were saying their hellos the next it was good bye. The two had caught their breath from their fight now. Sora and Riku walked up to the Paopu tree and sat on it.
Sora gazed towards the sea. His mind wandered again back to his adventures of other worlds. Sora had enjoyed play fighting with Riku again, it was the most fun he'd had since they got back home but it only strengthened his desire for exploring. The breeze was cool and gentle and as the afternoon wore on the island grew shady. Riku turned to Sora who let again looked like he was in a far off land. Riku's face changed from calm and relaxed to very worried. "Sora, Don't make the same mistake I did...." Riku said quietly.
"Huh?" Sora turned to him snapping back into reality. "What do you mean?" Sora still seemed kinda dazed.
"You long for freedom, I can see it in your eyes." Riku said looking straight at him. His face showed so much worry and concern Sora had trouble looking at him. "Don't fall into darkness like I did, thinking it was the only way to escape. The only way to be free, but it trapped me Sora, I became darkness' prisioner. I would never wish that on you." Riku said looking towards the sand.
"Riku, you don't have to worry. I would never give my heart into darkness. You should know that." Sora said trying to get Riku smiling again.
"But you do want to leave here again... don't you?" Riku said turning back to Sora.
Sora thought on how he'd answer this. Riku had caught him red handed just as Jiminy had done yesterday. Was he that transparent that people could see through him like that? What about Kairi? Has she noticed too? It must be killing her to know that he'd only just come back yet he wasn't happy being there with her. It wasn't true, he wanting nothing but to be back with her and Riku but he just wanted to be able to explore aswell.
"Sora?" Jiminy said jumping back onto his shoulder.
Sora finally looked up and replied "Not with out you and Kairi I don't." Sora turned to him and smiled. "I guess I do miss the adventures of saving worlds I had with Donald, Goofy and Jiminy but at the same time I was worried about you guys too and I missed home." His face fell as he looked out towards the ocean. "Do you think Kairi knows?"
"What? That you're not happy here? You want to have adventures again?" Riku asked as if he already knew the answer.
"Yeah..." Sora's voice went quite. He looked towards the home island. The thought of him hurting Kairi was unthinkable.
"You haven't been you're self lately Sora, I'm sure Kairi realises somthing's up." Riku replied.
Sora still kept looking away towards the island. "I never wanted to hurt her..."
"You can't hide you're true feelings from your friends, you of all people should know that by know." Riku said looking out towards the sea.
"Yeah.. I know... What can I do though? I don't want you guys to be sad just cause I am..." Sora said now turning to Riku.
Riku looked back at him. "I have an idea." He was smiling.
"Really? What?" Sora wasn't frowning anymore infact he was quite curious.
"We'll go on our our adventure right here. We don't have to go anywhere to be able to find new things." Riku said smiling out towards the ocean.
"Are you crazy? We grew up on these islands, There wouldn't be an piece of it we haven't seen over a hundred times." Sora seemed a lot more skeptical of Riku's plan now.
"Really?... What about the keyhole?" Riku smirked. He knew he'd beaten Sora there.
"Keyhole...?" Sora said trying to think what Riku meant.
"Yeah, The lock to the heart of this world. Every world has one, You remember?"
"Oh yeah!" Sora said brightening up a bit.
"Let's make sure our world is protected form the darkness, FOREVER!" Riku said trying to motivate Sora and cheer him up. It was working.
"Yeah! First thing tomorrow, you, me and Kairi.. and Jiminy! This will be our adventure!" Sora said sounding really excited. He turned towards the sea.
Riku nodded, "Wherever we go, we can always know, our island will be there for us to come back to." Riku said staring out to the open sea. Although his smile was faint. It was definatley there. Jiminy jumped onto the tree beside them.
"Riku?" Sora asked looking over towards him
"Yeah?" Riku faced back at Sora.
"Are you happy to be back?" Sora asked curiously.
"Well, yeah. I forgot how much I loved this place and..." Riku stopped himself.
"What is it Riku?"
"... and I guess I kinda missed you guys a bit." He said with a slight grin on his face but the grin faded. "Im so glad to finally be getting the past behind me."
"You mean us fighting? Having Xehanort take controll of your heart?"
"Yeah, that and..." Riku stopped himself again and looked away.
"Riku?" Sora was still really curious. "And what?"
Riku paused for a while his eyes were down at his feet. "Nothing..."
"Aww c'mon Riku it's obvious you have something troubling you. What's on your mind?"
"Nothing worth wasting your time over." Riku replied coldly.
"No! It is!" Sora sounded a little frustrated. "Ever since we were kids you've always tryed to hide your true feelings from me!" Riku still kept looking down. "What is it? Do you think it makes you weak to admitt that something’s on your heart? Do you think we'd think less of you if you did? Riku, we're you're friends!"
Riku looked up at Sora. He was looking slightly angry. "Have you ever thought, that I don't want to talk to you about it cause it hurt me?!" Riku shouted. Sora looked really hurt.
"Fine, if you're going to be like this, I don't want to talk to you either!" Sora shouted and with that he jumped off the tree and stormed off towards the dock.
"Sora!" Jiminy called still standing on the tree. He turned to Riku.
"You can leave now too if you want." Riku looked down at Jiminy.
"No, I'm not going to do that." Jiminy looked at Riku with concern. "I think you need some advice from a former conscience." Riku raised his eyebrows.
"Well, go on."
"Riku, I can see your hurting from what happened in you past. I can, Sora can and Kairi can. We all see it. But, are you going to let it muck up your future?"
"Jiminy... If you only knew..." Riku said he didn't seem angry anymore in fact he just seemed said.
"Well no, maybe I don't know the full story, but Riku you do. We've all made mistakes, some worse than others but Riku, it's our choice to learn from those mistakes. If you keep letting your worries of the past over take your future, you wont have one. Pushing away Sora from trying to help you only creates more problems. It may hurt to face what happened but that's what your friends are for. Sora wants to help you, maybe it's about time you let him." Jiminy looked up to a sad faced Riku who was now looking at his feet thinking and trying to process what Jiminy had said.
"Yeah..." Riku nodded offering a hand for Jiminy to jump on. Riku placed Jiminy on his shoulder. He walked up to Sora who was beginning to untie his boat. "Hey" Riku said over Sora's shoulder. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, I kinda over reacted a little bit." Sora stoped and turned to Riku.
"I guess I did too..." Sora said looking down and going back to his boat.
"Sora? You forgot someone." Riku said hoping he could catch Sora's attention. It worked Sora turned round again.
"Jiminy!" Sora said as he jumped onto his shoulder.
"Sora? Can we talk?" Riku asked hopefully.
"Yeah ok." Sora said as he sat down on the dock.
"Like I said before I'm sorry. I just freaked out before." Riku said quietly.
"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry I pushed you. I just... I wanted to help you move on you with your life but I guess I can wait till your ready. I just wanted you to know that you didn't have to deal with stuff all on your own. Like I told you, you have friends to help you." Sora said staring straight out towards the ocean. Riku sat down beside him.
"Yeah, I know... I think it's cause I spent so much time on my own I tried to solve my problems alone. When I found them too hard to handle, I tried to push them back, away from my heart. I tried to hide from them. That's why I covered my eyes, seeing myself and the sadness that fell upon the worlds, I couldn't bare it. So I blind folded myself but a blind fold never could hide the truth from my heart. Could it?" Riku looked towards Sora.
Sora smiled and shook his head "No, you can't really."
"I loved her Sora." Riku said quietly his eyes were glazed over and Sora could see his reflection in them.
"WHAT!?!? WHO?!?!?" Sora was stunned, he's never heard of Riku talk of any her that way apart from Kairi.
"The nothing I talked about, was a girl I feel in love with during the year you were asleep." Riku looked to see Sora's reaction. Sora was speechless and in a total state of shock. Riku was telling him he had fallen in love now? Why didn't he tell him sooner?
"Her name was Alexis, She was the 14th member of Organization XIII.
"The... 14th?" Sora said finally able to find words.
"She left the Organization because of what they were doing to people, creating heartless so Roxas could destroy them for Kingdom Hearts Lexi said what they were doing to innocent people was wrong and that they didn't deserve hearts so the Organization got angry and set out to destroy her. I promised her I'd protect her. I wasn't going to let her get hurt. She was the only person who stayed by me when I was trying to help DiZ wake you up. I told Lexi I loved her... but she left me... She said we were better off apart. She said it was the only way, she could never love me as a nobody but she couldn't stand helping the organization destroying the lives of others. Just so she could have her's back. She told me to forget about her and to find someone who truly love me in return. I was crushed. Riku's eye began to well, but he held the tears back, he didn't want Sora to think he was that weak. Weak enough to cry over a girl. What was wrong with him?
"Riku..." Sora looked just as sad as he did. It hurt to look at his best friend the way he was. Sora sat there quietly he knew he should probably be leaving now because it was sunset but he couldn't leave Riku in this state. It would be abandoning him in his time of need. "Riku... I had no idea," Sora said finally.
Riku gave a deep breath. "Y'know Sora? I always thought darkness was hard to live in, When it took over my heart, I felt so great to win over it then I didn't know what to do to help you. Well, I did, but I was selfish. He looked down again. DiZ and I we always thought that to wake you up, we would need to bring you back to Roxas. I knew the only way he'd come with me is if I fought him. In the end I did, but I didn't want to, cause deep down in my heart I knew I'd have to use the power of darkness. Not my type of darkness, but Ansem's - I mean Xehanort's Heartless. I didn't want to do it, I didn't know what effect it would have on me if I did it. I was worried, I wouldn't be myself. I didn't want to lose Alex but... at the same time I wanted to help you. I owed you after everything I'd done to you..." Riku was looking down at the water underneath the deck.
"Riku, I never blamed you for any of that stuff. I just so badly wanted to help you get back, with us three again. I never thought about any of the stuff with the darkness, I knew that if I simply believed that things would become right again they will. You just gotta try to believe that things will work out in the end. I know they will." Sora said trying to cheer up Riku.
"Yeah, you could be right. I just don't know at this moment. Everything seems to be going back to normal in my head but in my heart I feel like things aren't right yet." Riku said turning to him. Sora nodded.
"Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I mean things have been getting better lately, I feel so much better after telling Kairi but... I don't know if just living on the islands is enough anymore. It use to be... but... now I've seen what else is out there, I want to see more, but at the same time. I want to live a normal life with you guys. I know I can't have both but..." Sora was also looking at the shallow sea beneath the dock.
"You still want to.." Riku finished his sentence for him. He was still looking out to sea.
"Yeah..." Sora said staring out into the Ocean. The salty sea breeze hit his face. So many thoughts were spinning in his head again. One thing was sticking though. It almost seemed Riku read his mind.
“I’m so stupid! How could I fall in love with a Nobody!?!” He seemed really angry with himself.
Sora was speechless so Jiminy answered. “Riku, You can’t choose who you fall in love with, it just happens.” Jiminy pointed out to him.
“Yeah I know but… Why do I have to fall for the one girl who cannot love me in return?” Riku seemed really down and angry with himself. It was like all his hidden feelings were coming out.
Sora looked at him, he couldn’t tell whether he was going to start crying or screaming, either way, Riku was hurting. Sora tried so hard to think of something reassuring to say to his best friend but no words would come. If anything Sora felt angry towards the girl who had stolen Riku’s heart then tossed it aside. Sora wondered whether she was using Riku, but he shook these thoughts away. It wasn’t helping Riku at all. “Riku, Things will get better, you’ll see.” Sora said in his normal cheery positive way. “Let’s just forget about the past, and look onto the future. Think of all the adventures we’ll have! You, me and Kairi!” Sora looked to see if any of this was working, much to his dismay, it wasn’t. Sora put on a more serious tone now, “Riku, Do you remember when I said I hated what the Organization did to us? When I said that, I had no idea how much they’d done to you.”
“I don’t blame Organization XIII for this Sora,” Riku said looking towards his friend. “I can’t blame anyone… anyone but myself.” He said looking down at his feet dangling in the water.
“Hey, Don’t say things like that!” Sora said with a sharp tone in his voice. “You can’t blame yourself for what happened!” Sora turned to Riku, "How could it be you fault? She was a nobody! It's not like you made her that!" Sora said who saw Riku's head down.
Riku looked up at Sora, "No... You're right there, but, It was my choice to hang around her, I let my heart in for it. I know she was a nobody but it didn't bother me. I was just so lonley I was a happy to have anyone to talk to. "
"Riku..." Sora felt really bad for him. He was so alone.
"What happened to the King?" Jiminy asked seeming really currious.
"He couldn't stay with me." Riku paused and thought for a bit. "I mean... I... told him to go." Riku seemed really sad. He looked as though all the painful memories were comming back to him, or maybe, they were just becoming more real to him.
Sora seemed puzzled, "Why would you do that?"
"Because... I could keep him waiting on me, He told me to go home. I was too ashamed to so I said I'd wait for you to wake up but I will won't deny I wasn't planning on going back then. After I met Lexi, everything changed. She made me feel... like for the first time in my life, somone loved me, I guess my heart gave in but it was all a lie, she never loved me. She never could love me."
"I'm sorry Riku" Sora said quietly.
"Naa, don't be, I'm better off without her." He looked towards the black starry sky. "You should have been gone for ages by now." The sea was beining to get a little wild, but it still wasn't any real danger. "The wind's picking up." Sora listened and looked up to see the trees shake in the breeze.
"I guess we better be going then." So looked towards Jiminy who looked just as concerned about leaving Riku as he did. He felt like he really should leave Riku, not while he's still sad like this. It wasnt right, but he also thought of home, they'd be begining to worry by now, he was most likely late for dinner. "Are you going to be ok?" Sora asked turning back at Riku.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thanks Sora." He said smiling.
"What for?" Sora seemed a little lost.
"For talking to me about this... At first, I didn't think talking about it would help, but it did, I feel a lot better about it." He smiled.
Sora shook his head" Hey, don't mention it. It's what friends do, Don't you remember?" He said hopping into his boat.
"Yeah I do." Riku smiled back at Sora.
Sora grinned and began to paddle out to open sea. "See ya tomorrow!" He said waving.
"Yeah, tommorrow we find the keyhole!!" Riku called back, he sounded a lot brighter than before.
Whew, that was a nice long chapter aye? lol, Sorry I didn't have it up before school has been pretty hectic. lol.
Ok well explaining what I meant before about waiting, I wanted to start/Finish Reverse Rebirth before I did it, but before I knew I could get the game I cheated and veiwed clips on youtube, very silly of me, ofcourse I didn't see all of them so I still will have some fun! Anyways I wanted to get Riku's story in my mind straight first but I couldn't wait to write the next chapter so I hope you don't mind, Stay tuned for more XD. I hope I didn't bore you to sleep there lol.

I didn't want to lose Alex but... at the same time I wanted to help you. I owed you after everything I'd done to you..." Riku was looking down at the water underneath the deck.
"Riku, I never blamed you for any of that stuff. I just so badly wanted to help you get back, with us three again. I never thought about any of the stuff with the darkness, I knew that if I simply believed that things would become right again they will. You just gotta try to believe that things will work out in the end. I know they will." Sora said trying to cheer up Riku.
"Yeah, you could be right. I just don't know at this moment. Everything seems to be going back to normal in my head but in my heart I feel like things aren't right yet." Riku said turning to him. Sora nodded.
"Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I mean things have been getting better lately, I feel so much better after telling Kairi but... I don't know if just living on the islands is enough anymore. It use to be... but... now I've seen what else is out there, I want to see more, but at the same time. I want to live a normal life with you guys. I know I can't have both but..." Sora was also looking at the shallow sea beneath the dock.
"You still want to.." Riku finished his sentence for him. He was still looking out to sea.
"Yeah..." Sora said staring out into the Ocean. The salty sea breeze hit his face. So many thoughts were spinning in his head again. One thing was sticking though. It almost seemed Riku read his mind.
“I’m so stupid! How could I fall in love with a Nobody!?!” He seemed really angry with himself.
Sora was speechless so Jiminy answered. “Riku, You can’t choose who you fall in love with, it just happens.” Jiminy pointed out to him.
“Yeah I know but… Why do I have to fall for the one girl who cannot love me in return?” Riku seemed really down and angry with himself. It was like all his hidden feelings were coming out.
Sora looked at him, he couldn’t tell whether he was going to start crying or screaming, either way, Riku was hurting. Sora tried so hard to think of something reassuring to say to his best friend but no words would come. If anything Sora felt angry towards the girl who had stolen Riku’s heart then tossed it aside. Sora wondered whether she was using Riku, but he shook these thoughts away. It wasn’t helping Riku at all. “Riku, Things will get better, you’ll see.” Sora said in his normal cheery positive way. “Let’s just forget about the past, and look onto the future. Think of all the adventures we’ll have! You, me and Kairi!” Sora looked to see if any of this was working, much to his dismay, it wasn’t. Sora put on a more serious tone now, “Riku, Do you remember when I said I hated what the Organization did to us? When I said that, I had no idea how much they’d done to you.”
“I don’t blame Organization XIII for this Sora,” Riku said looking towards his friend. “I can’t blame anyone… anyone but myself.” He said looking down at his feet dangling in the water.
“Hey, Don’t say things like that!” Sora said with a sharp tone in his voice. “You can’t blame yourself for what happened!” Sora turned to Riku, "How could it be you fault? She was a nobody! It's not like you made her that!" Sora said who saw Riku's head down.
Riku looked up at Sora, "No... You're right there, but, It was my choice to hang around her, I let my heart in for it. I know she was a nobody but it didn't bother me. I was just so lonley I was a happy to have anyone to talk to. "
"Riku..." Sora felt really bad for him. He was so alone.
"What happened to the King?" Jiminy asked seeming really currious.
"He couldn't stay with me." Riku paused and thought for a bit. "I mean... I... told him to go." Riku seemed really sad. He looked as though all the painful memories were comming back to him, or maybe, they were just becoming more real to him.
Sora seemed puzzled, "Why would you do that?"
"Because... I could keep him waiting on me, He told me to go home. I was too ashamed to so I said I'd wait for you to wake up but I will won't deny I wasn't planning on going back then. After I met Lexi, everything changed. She made me feel... like for the first time in my life, somone loved me, I guess my heart gave in but it was all a lie, she never loved me. She never could love me."
"I'm sorry Riku" Sora said quietly.
"Naa, don't be, I'm better off without her." He looked towards the black starry sky. "You should have been gone for ages by now." The sea was beining to get a little wild, but it still wasn't any real danger. "The wind's picking up." Sora listened and looked up to see the trees shake in the breeze.
"I guess we better be going then." So looked towards Jiminy who looked just as concerned about leaving Riku as he did. He felt like he really should leave Riku, not while he's still sad like this. It wasnt right, but he also thought of home, they'd be begining to worry by now, he was most likely late for dinner. "Are you going to be ok?" Sora asked turning back at Riku.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Thanks Sora." He said smiling.
"What for?" Sora seemed a little lost.
"For talking to me about this... At first, I didn't think talking about it would help, but it did, I feel a lot better about it." He smiled.
Sora shook his head" Hey, don't mention it. It's what friends do, Don't you remember?" He said hopping into his boat.
"Yeah I do." Riku smiled back at Sora.
Sora grinned and began to paddle out to open sea. "See ya tomorrow!" He said waving.
"Yeah, tommorrow we find the keyhole!!" Riku called back, he sounded a lot brighter than before.

Ok well explaining what I meant before about waiting, I wanted to start/Finish Reverse Rebirth before I did it, but before I knew I could get the game I cheated and veiwed clips on youtube, very silly of me, ofcourse I didn't see all of them so I still will have some fun! Anyways I wanted to get Riku's story in my mind straight first but I couldn't wait to write the next chapter so I hope you don't mind, Stay tuned for more XD. I hope I didn't bore you to sleep there lol.
There's nothing wrong with that, I like to keep my readers updated whenever I can, I also like to thank people for their support cause without readers, there's no point in me writing these aye?

Heck Yeah! and I haven't even really started the story, Im judging by the time I'm finished you'll be begging me to wrap it up. lol Cause well I mean, Im up to the 7th chapter and it's only the end of Day two!!! lol I mean, gee, there's a whole lot of story to go yet, so I hope I don't bore you guys too early in the peace.
Yeah this chapter, was actually the first chapter I had planned, It was this chapter that I have been dying to write ever since I came up with the idea, lol. This one and a few others, With my writing you can tell it gives of my ideas and thoughts which shall become a lot clearer during the end of it. I mean there's a lot of idea's I've had for multiple fan fics that Im just shoving into the one story line. I think I have planned my longest chapter that I may still split into two yet Im not sure... Anyways enough said on that Im giving away too much
Hehee, Yes Alex, Alexis, Lexi , she has many names, all have X hmmm no dah! lol, anyways. I mean with the great fan base of Riku I was shocked they didn't give his character somone to love. Infact I reckon in 358 we are going to have Roxas' story and... Riku's I mean it fits, I really hope so anyways, when I first came up with that theory it created this chapter in my head lol. I created her name Alexis cause well, Alex sounds too much like Axel and I really liked the name Lexi for a girl but I thought it was stupid having two girls starting with the letter L and also lexi for some reason makes me think of Marly... Don't as me why, lol. Anyways enough said on her.
