Guys, I just wanna share how I feel and I know that some of you don't feel the same way and I guess I'm just confused a bit how things changed and for starters, with the name "Squaresoft" to "Square-enix". I know Enix isn't new. This is the name in Valkarie Profile in PS1. But at that time I didn't really know that both Squares were related. But anyways, let me get to the point.

The recent games by Square-enix has been.. somehow disappointing.. Like the sequel to FFX. It was really disappointing for me.. (for me!) The sequel to Brave Fencer Musashi which is Musashi Samurai Legends, too. The first one was more realistic even if the new had better graphics (that's because I felt that this village acted real and musashi could get tired), the first was more fun, and musashi ran faster despite he was half the size of the new musashi. Plus, I don't find the new musashi's voice matches how he looks..

Drakengard.. for me it was not quite fun. It looked cool on the outside but in the inside the things were just going back and forth again and again..

Maybe it's just because I had expected too much.. But it's because I feel that Square can make a sequel better than the first but then.. that's not always true to all. It's either Square is losing it's touch or I just expect too much.

To the guys who like these games I mentioned, sorry I just wanted to express how I feel. Hope there will be no hard feelings.

Peace!

Enix was a separate company, Square's main competitor, and then they decided to merge and now virtually own the RPG market. Squaresoft + Enix = Square-Enix. They weren't related (aside from the odd semi-joint project) before the merge.

Oohh... Okay. I understand what's going on now.. ^_^

but about ffx2, I didn't get disapointed because of my expectations. I didn't quite like it becuase one sudden mistake and ur plans of having 100% completion gets messed up in a way.. I've played it over and over without guides for lotz of times. i didn't really know that I really had to go to the depths of the story that time and the secrets and stuff. Til eventually.. I got tired of playing it over and over (you know, waching the scenes repeat themselves over and over again). For me, the whole game felt like playing a side quest. No offense you guyz, kay? We have different points of views.

The thing that got to my expectations was with the musashi game. I missed the first one so much (it's been 6 years since the 1st one, and yeah i was a fan) that I really got excited. When I played it, they changed and deleted somethings that I thought were really significant in what made the musashi game a musashi game (at least for me they were. you know, like legaia. The up, left, down, etc.., and final fanasy, their summons, turn changes, potions, elixers.. you know, the things that makes you feel like its final fantasy.). And well, musashi did disappoint me... it was fun but... I didn' feel the excitement I had 6 years ago.

Sigh.. well, that game was from a long time ago. Point's of views change. Likes and dislikes change. Game types change. Yes I was a little worried that kh2 would turn out bad. But now, you guyz got my squarefan-self back. I guess now i shouldn't worry. Anywayz, wow.. you guys really know a lot bwt them. I guess I'm not that much of a fan of square after all. At least not like you. c",)

Okay! ^_^
I'll talk about the first musashi first. Musashi is the first rpg of square, by the way. I think I found in some magazine that it's in ninendo now. Not really sure. The second one you can find in square-enix the english part if you want more info and try it yourself.
*I think I'll be putting spoilers but i guess you wont be playing it anyway..*
The first Musashi was called Brave Fencer Musashi(den). The story begins with a palace being attacked by people who call themselves the ThirstQuencher Empire. Musashi is a small boy who get's summoned by the palace's princess as their only hope to defeat the bad guys. Musashi was a Legendary Hero who died long ago. When he was summoned, the people of the palace were surprised coz he was a small boy. Smaller than the princess. Musashi was annoyed because he says he was doing something and they just pull him away to another world just like that and he was a kid so he made fun with their costumes. Anywayz, so they quareled and he agreed to do the stuff he does (becuase he really has no choice). then they gave him a sword called fusion which u could use to learn abilities but one at a time only. And a sword sheath. he was ordered to get Lumina, the legendary sword which was used by brave fencer years ago. But it's a dangerous journey. While he juorneys, he battles enemies and solves puzzles(but only by himself during those times) then he reaches the place where Lumina was. Then he get's it and get's chased by a cursed stone head that was guarding Lumina. He keeps running til he reached the palace. Then he found someone took the princess as hostage. Then he fights a boss, which isn't a walk in the park the first time you fight it. Then he beat it and fell asleep because he was tired. (he was just a boy atfer all. needs some rest). he wakes up and he's in bed in the palace. and the geezer, advicer.. whatever guy tells him what happened that they took the princess and some other guys. then they talk and blah blah. The real mission clear to musashi now is to save the princess and defeat the empire and somethings about looking for the five scrolls of Lumina which gives him power to use some kind of magic. The guy gives him a watch. It is used to tell time there (just like in GTA) But he can get tired and sleep. There are also days and nights. The village acts good. There is 24 hrs in the game. You can sleep to fasten the time. If it's night, the song changes, and the people go home. There is also a part when zombies roam at night. There is also Monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday but sunday is replaced to skyday. Stores have schedules when they will open.In the game, it can rain though there's nothing that can really do. I found the story good. The dungeons were also good and sudenly appears somewhere. You can learn useful stuff from the people you save. Though the dialouges were a bit for kids which suited me when I was a kid, the story is good. Some parts were funny. Musashi had an alright personality. His personality suited how he looked also his voice. The get-away-from-that-or-you'll-be-smashed scenes were challenging too. annoying more like it.

Actually I liked this game when i was a kid. I guess overall you can say it's for little kids or newbies but I liked it. It was an okay game. And I'm a kind of gamer who seems to like every game so you cant really count on me for reviews. But maybe I might misakenly overate this coz it was a long time ago (6 years) since I last played this. But still, I had a better experience with this than the 2nd one.

I'll compare and contrast it with Musashi Samurai Legends now. Musashi's still a guy who get's summoned by a princess while being attacked by enemies, but the same height as the princess now. It was fine at first but when you get to the village, he seems like he's running really slow.... They deleted the time thing.. And some things are just.. you know.. The get-away-from-that-or-you'll-be-smashed scenes don't really seem challenging.. It's too easy.. The dialouge was too.. "umm... really..?" Musashi's voice doesn't quite match his looks. Besides, the voice sounds rather like that of a girl's that is forced to be that of a guy's. (sorry whoever you are out there!!) But his speed is okay when his out of the village which is good. His personality doesn't really match how he looks for me. But now, he can keep his abilities. But.. the missions at times dont quite look impressive. Nor does the battles near the end of the story nor they are as challenging as when I battled the near end part of the first Musashi which was a lot more difficult. I dont quite like the story either. It's too short.. The story ain't that impressive too. The First Musashi's story had a touching feel to it. But I couldn't finish the game because there was a problem with the cd. It would always hang at the LAST BOSS. Just my luck.. But overall it was fun but not as fun when I played the first one. Even my elder brother thinks so.. If you didn't like the first one and you wanted something better here.. you are.. well.. i dont know.. gonna be really disappointed?

Okay. This is all I can write. Got really sleepy...

Let me tell you a little story:

A long time ago, there was a company called Squaresoft. Their games didn't sell at all, and so the president that time came up with a last project: FINAL FANTASY.
The last game they would make.
But then, everyone started to buy it! And the company was saved.
They continued making FINAL FANTASY, and eventually they came to FFVII. It sold so well in Japan they brought it to America and Europe, where it sold even better! The partnership between Squaresoft and Nintendo ended, becuz the Nintendo Consoles didn't have the hardware Squaresoft wanted.
After that, FFVIII was in the market, and everyone bought it. Result: first year, just as many copies as FFVII in the same year!
But then something bad happened! They made a movie called Spirits Within. It was meant for even better sale numbers, but that didn't happen. Why? Cause most of the people here didn't watch the movie! So Squaresoft was almost lost.
They made FFIX, which gave good sale numbers, but not enough.
They made FFX which had even better sale numbers, but thanks to SW, they still had a lot of losses.

And then, Enix showd up. They joined forces and you have Square-Enix.

Of course the games werent that good lately, but why? Becuz they were sequels of games that werent that good anyways. Becuz they were experiments of the company (Drakengard)

And look now! FF7AC, KHII, FFXII, DC:FF7, CC:FF7, etc...

The better games are coming

What's SW, New2ya? Anyway, I thought the company was orignally named Square since whever I turn on my FF6 rom it says Square, but oh well. I've never played most of the game created by Square-Enix, the two I've played is COM and X-2. COM was great, and X-2 was decent. So hopefully this company will gain ever more profit then it did as SquareSoft with the future titles coming up.

KINGDOM HEARTS 1 is a product of Square-Enix too actually...

And COM isnt a good game at all in my opinion, lol. The battle was linear, the story was linear, and boring...

X-2 wasnt special at all, and the whole meaning behind the story was left in the dark (finding her true love back)
