The PS3 Home beta is about to begin

I was going to post this in the Sony section, but in fear of making an edited post a tad too long, I'm going to put it here.

Anyway here's the most important tidbits from the invite email that I, along with other random registered Playstation 3 users, got from Sony, regarding participation in the beta trial.

Home is ramping up for its debut, and we're inviting you to sign up for a very special beta test. Space is extremely limited, so if you want to participate in the beta test, FIND OUT MORE by clicking here or on the button below.

REMEMBER:

Home Beta is open to legal U.S. or Canadian residents 18 years or older who are currently registered PlayStation® Underground™ members.
Participation in Home Beta means you will be subject to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Privacy Policy and will receive further communications from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe.
You must accept the Home Beta Trial Agreement to sign up.
Not everyone who signs up will be accepted.
If you are one of the chosen few, we will notify you via email.

Also the invites have stopped and been closed. The link is no longer open. However, while the link was open anybody could have got in, the link surprisingly was not user specific. WTF. I guess that's a bad sign for things to come. =D

We will probably learn who actually got in or not tomorrow probably. I have only beta tested once for the PSP so I'm likely to not be in it.

So that sums this up. Hopefully, Sony delivers on the promises and doesn't fail like with their other endeavors. If accepted once the NDA expires or if a lot of people start revealing info without consequences, I'll let everyone know what went on and if it honestly sucked or not.

I hope you have fun reading about how much fun other people are having in the Beta! You can enjoy the fun in 2008! Play the Sims to tide yourself over.

it's not what you exactly said, but they do both imply the same thing. once again, what you posted did not come off as the way you interpret it. also, from someone who would post about a thread about PS3 home beta, it seems like he cares. so tell me, how is this not a low-blow to him?

From what I heard, Home is just like a forum but with 3D avatars and a place where you can share your PS3 stuff. It isn't that bad... I can see myself wasting a few hours with it.
