So far, we know of three "forces", or forms of energy, in the KH universe: Light, Darkness, and Nothingness.

Now, darkness in its purest form leads to, of course, Heartless.

"Nothingness" sounds like it should be just that - nothing - but we know it actually is the domain of the Nobodies. (So I guess from that perspective it makes even more sense to say Nobodies shouldn't exist... hadn't thought about it like that until now.)

And light in its purest form makes... what?

Well, if the Princesses of Heart are any indication, then light doesn't make any type of monster. A person full of light is still just a person. In fact, it seems that light is sort of the "default" standard for humans, and that darkness is required to corrupt a person into something else.

So that's why I don't like these ideas that light is what the BBS enemies are composed of. It just doesn't make sense, light doesn't corrupt people at all, we have proof.

i will say that that makes sense, don't get me wrong, but i think that if the keybearer can choose to do what is considered good or bad, then it really wouldn't matter if they were in light or darkness. the same could be said for this new enemy. thats my only input on that, though.

I agree that light doesn't make any type of monster, at least not normal light anyway.Maybe artificial light could create another type of monster though or some sort of other kind of light.

Read: Kairi's grandmother's story.

It's a fairy tale told to a 4-year-old. I don't consider it to have a whole lot of weight compared with what we've actually seen.

Yeah, but in that case, a keybearer's actions really wouldn't have anything to do with the question of light or darkness.

Maybe if someone tried to replicate light and screwed it up...? I guess, but it seems a bit of a stretch.

This seems like something we'll have to wait for Nomura to confirm or until BBS is released and see for ourselves. This subject isn't good for theories at all because there's too many variables let alone things we just have no clue about. So nothing will lead us in the right direction of what they actually are just yet.

^You've got a point, but I think for those who do want to hypothesize, all relevant parts of the puzzle should be considered, and I hadn't previously seen anyone mention this one.

^I don't know how; light has only been shown to have a good effect so far, it really isn't a weapon except against dark creatures.

Then again, I've heard Roxas's element is technically light, is this true? Because whatever his element is, he has some pretty damaging attacks with it.

^The general consensus is that, given as it is a story told to a 4-year-old girl by her grandmother, it can't really be taken as literal truth. When I was 4 and asked about where the world came from, no adult gave me a scientific analysis of the Big Bang Theory or explained the varying hypotheses concerning the abiotic origin of life. (Instead, I got funny stories that basically said "if it's complicated enough that I'm too lazy to think about, god did it".)

But the new enemies are creatures made of darkness. Why would they be light?

They didn't put kairi's grandmother's story in for kicks u know, it has some kind of importance whether it's true or not is yet to be decided. But if you read the story u can see for example why light can currupt thats why muffinman mentioned it. Light can create shadows.
