Ven's body didn't vanish because he had a heart of pure light. When a heart of pure light leaves the body, the body remains. If not of pure light, the body will vanish (MX, Sora, etc.)
so we could say Ven is like a princess of heart. Kairi who has a heart of pure light did not lose her body when she lost her heart.
Alright, so those who have pure hearts, won't lose their body when their heart is extracted (Same reason Princess Aurora's body didn't vanish when Maleficent/Terra extracted her heart). That makes sense and clears that up..

We don't know if Ven still has a heart of pure light dammit...if he re-absorbed Vanitas after their fight he has his darkness back.
Ven's body didn't vanish because he didn't lost his heart the "normal" way, his connection to Sora and because his heart was injured.
Actually Ven didn't "lose" his heart the literal way at all, as he still had his heart all the way up to the point where Aqua left him in the chamber of waking.
It was just not sensible and not functioning properly anymore because of the deep injury, that's the reason he went comatose.
After Aqua left C.O. to look for Terra Ven's heart finally succumbed fully to the heavy injury and starts to fade, yet then Sora reaches out to him and his heart follows the connection back to Sora's heart.

Yeah, because 1. their hearts lack any darkness and 2. their hearts were healthy and fully functionable.

Losing his heart for Ven doesn't mean the same as it does for Kairi or the princesses of heart in KH 1, the circumstances are different.
The heart was still there, yet so badly maimed even Yen Sid couldn't sense it anymore.
He specifically says it is as if his heart left him, not that it really did.
Furthermore, Ven could still summon Wayward Wind to open the path to Land of Departure while being carried on Aqua's back, one needs a heart to do that.
