Digimon: The Last Hope

In the summer, Richmond had been the epicenter of the most beautiful sights that any man or woman would view in their lives. The rays of sunlight gleaming down on every inch of the city that is bathed in a lush array of trees baring the leaves of red and orange; yellow and green — all these colors all cover the city’s floors. Sure this seems like an Autumn-like scenery, but the dry, humid feel in the air proves otherwise.

Set aside from all of this, along the coastline, there is a row of three cabins. These redwood cabins are raised and built in a two story look. The first floor of each cabin house the campers and the consolers rest in the second floor. Inside the cabins, smooth hardwood floors are graced with animal skinned-rugs that have been scattered all around. The beds are five paces apart from each other with a lamp and a nightstand in-between each of them. In each cabin there are seven beds. An odd number for an odd campsite.

Oddly enough, the camp is the home to a wide-variety of people who come from all over the world. They range from Mexico to Florida. They range from Africans to Mexicans; from Japanese to Americans. It’s just a mufti-cultured camp that is fun for all.

The day on which this specific time is will be around mid-July and probably noon-ish. Even though the day feels like any other, it’s not a day that will go unnoticed from seven particular kids. As each step out from their respective cabin that is on one section of the beach, seven little circle dots of bright lights appear out of the sky. They are not even ready to comprehend what is about to happen.

---------------------------------------

The beams of light coming down are going slow, a steady pace even. From what can only be described as anticipation, Trip nervously awaited for whatever was going to happen to happen. These lights, they each landed in seven kids’ hands. One of these kids was Trip. This Mexico City-born kid was tall for his age of fourteen. He stood strong, lean, but not mentally-fitting the bill of his physical appearance. A choice of clothing that resonated with him so much. A red jacket with shapes of blue and blue jeans. His shirt was just like your normal kind of shirt in a random shade. Nothing out of the ordinary.

As the dot of light came into his hand, a weird device suddenly took shape. From the looks of it, Trip had no idea what It was, but the shape looked like a cool toy that he would have played with a few years back. Something about it felt familiar, but Trip couldn’t place it.

The teenager looked around, and he saw that his fellow campers got the same things, but he was a bit too timid to speak up in fear that he would say something stupid or misunderstanding. He just waited for someone else to make a comment about it.

Somewhere in the Digital World

In an unknown land, far from what some call Earth, there is a kingdom, a scary kingdom that houses seven individuals all rumored for their brutality and evil nature. These seven individuals are often looked as myths, but they are no myths — not anymore. Awakened by the Lights, they have became the real deal and this is not something that no one wants to underestimate. These beings are the sole reason why the Digital World was in ruins seven millennia ago. In Earth’s time, that is the Earth time of seven weeks.

In the center of the kingdom, there is a meeting point where all seven sectors of the kingdom meet. All ranging from different terrains like water and earth. These seven meeting points in the center of it all sits seven shadows.

“We have awaken.”

John stepped out of the cabin, his black jacket tied around his waist and dark grey shorts revealing some leg. Straightening his simple black t-shirt, he made the wrinkles disrupting the pattern of the shirt disappear, a white smiley face whose eyes were replaced with the kind of lock hole you'd expect in older times, and the smile instead a straight key whose barred 'teeth' differed in size, growing as you went along the key until the middle and then shrinking again. Sighing in response of another day whose heat prevented him from wearing the comfortable layer of clothing he craved for constantly, John didn't notice the descending lights until they were almost upon the group of campers.

Instinctively holding out his cupped hands, John caught the light and stared at the device that now sat within his grasp. Small, simple, and without much information being shown on its little screen, it couldn't hold John's focus and he looked around, noticing the others had caught a light of their own. He met the eyes of Trip for only a second before moving on to the next camper and the next, mouth kept shut and face in a shape suitable to be used in poker.

No way these fell from a plane, are normal, or aren't something to slightly worry about. They were bundles of light up until we held them, and they fell at a speed that is in no way natural. Can't be part of the camp, they wouldn't want technology to be this central to the experience. I'm... drawing a blank. Well, someone's going to spout something we can agree or disagree with eventually, so I think I'll just keep the silence until then. Also, weather and temperature imply these aren't exactly freshly fallen from space and this isn't the end of the world. Yay for still existing?

At the end of time, listening to the drums...
A lone boy sat outside, sporting a simple grey t-shirt with yellow stripes along the sides and sleeves, and a pair of black shorts with orange stripes running in from the sides. His eyes were closed, back resting against the wall of a simple wooden cabin, and he looked perfectly content, basking in the rays of the mid-day sun. This was Tidus, one of the many assorted campers and, as far as he knew, nothing special, though that particular feeling was about to be severely tested.

Yawning sleepily, Tidus rose to his feet, running one hand through the mess of dirty blonde hair on his head, before sighting a glow in the distance above him. He watched, apprehensively, as multiple lights approached, each seeming to be headed for a particular camper at a gentle, unhurried pace, as if their very movement towards the ground was an act of choice, and not gravity. His eyes widened, becoming more alarmed as his gaze fell upon the light that seemed intended for him, and, gently, he held out his hand to catch it.

He held the object for a second, inspecting its shape and color, it was almost looked like a pager, small, rounded, with a metallic green color along its base, trimmed with a neon blue, but as far as he knew pagers weren't supposed to fall from the sky, nor were they supposed to glow. 'This is weird' he thought, finally looking around to the other campers, none of which seemed to know how to react. He figured someone needed to break the tension, to make some kind of suggestion as to what exactly was going on, and appropriately describe the situation. Clearing his throat, he looked to the campers nearest him "This is really weird."

Arianna was in for an interesting day. Though she had expected much, being across the country from her home at an international camp, things were about to take an unexpected turn. It didn't take very long for her to realize this. The moment she stepped out of her cabin, both hands up in the process of tying her hair, and already dressed in her denim shorts, tank top, and thin brown jacket, she saw a circle of seven lights glowing up at the sky.

Normally, she would have overlooked such a sight as a trick of the light in the morning, but the strange thing was that the seven lights seemed to be getting closer. She glanced around, wondering if anyone else had noticed this, and sure enough, she saw some other campers looking up at the sky, as well. Seven, in fact. Funny coincidence. Right as she pulled on her band to wrap her hair up though, one of the lights continued to descend until it looked like it was coming at her. Instinctively, Ari put her hands out to catch the light, her hair once again falling at her shoulders in the process.

She opened up her hands to inspect what had landed in her hands, expecting some kind of rock or meteor from space. To her great surprise, what she held looked like nothing of the sort. In fact, is resembled something like a pager people wore a decade ago. It was small and had a screen in the middle- and the color was a bit strange. Dark pinkish, with a gray lining. She held it up to the sky, trying to get a good look at it, and glanced around. She realized that each of the seven campers were also holding one. This... is weird.

"This is really weird." She looked up when one of the campers, a boy with a gray t-shirt and black shorts, voiced exactly what she (and probably the other campers, too) was thinking.

"
You can say that again," she replied, her eyebrows furrowing together in confusion. I doubt this is something the camp counselors could have set up.

Phoenix was a bit down that his sister Neptune hadn't been able to go to camp with him in Virginia. He adored her presence, she made his days a lot better than normal. In fact Neptune made everybody's day a lot better than it was. She was such a good friend to everyone that as an older sibling Phoenix aspired to keep growing and be more like his sister. His own personality wasn't broken in any sense it was just that thinking about his sister always made Phoenix want to be a better kid. He knew all to well that Neptune was having fun elsewhere. Rather than come along to camp, she'd been chosen as a finalist in an art competition and ended up in the Netherlands.

"I wish she was here but eh I'll manage. All these kids are interesting, especially Trip and Van. I feel like we were all destined to meet." Various thoughts were running through Phoenix's mind as he laid back on the sand and drifted in and out of sleep. It was so warm that being outside felt even better than being in bed inside the cabin. He'd ended up sneaking out of the cabin at an earlier time than the other kids and while he thought of the recent events that led him to this summer camp.

Being laid out on the beach had triggered dreams about the game he'd been playing for years, Phoenix found himself in an odd forest within the dream, monsters he recognized from the game were scattered about, some of them however, Phoenix had never seen before. They looked scary and powerful, like giant demons or monstrosities that were meant to ruin the world. Fear wasn't the exact feeling that Phoenix was experiencing, mainly because he knew that it was only a dream. True there were visions of people screaming and running, the small monsters being either eaten or simply annihilated by these creatures.

A voice that seemed familiar but Phoenix wasn't able to place spoke to phoenix, telling him in a sweet childlike voice to wake up so they could have more adventure's together soon. "Wait what?? I don't understand what you're talking about though. Don't leave me here I have more I wanna know!!!" Phoenix was only half dreaming even when within his ending dream, a bright light shined down between the trees of the forest where he'd been walking, a fierce glow seemed to be all the object was and yet Phoenix almost thought there was a possibility that the item was sentient. "Are you the voice that was just talking to me??"

The bright object reached Phoenix's hand which he grasped and as he began to wake up fully on the beach, a vision of his favorite monster from the game overtook his vision. "No that was me..."

"Whoa...Corbinek?? Is that you?!?!?" the bright sun in the sky told Phoenix that he was no longer in the dream forest. Many of the other kids he'd met at camp were on the beach with him now, when before he'd drifted off to sleep nobody had been around. It was odd that his hand burned with a peculiar sensation and turning to look at it, there was a device inside his palm. "No freaking way, this is more absurd than I could have imagined." The device Phoenix held was from the game that he'd been playing for years. "Wow prodigious!!! I wonder what this really means, like all of you guys got one too..." Phoenix was both excited and in a bit of shock about such a random turn of events during summer camp. His dream was somehow connected to what was happening, that he could be sure of but everything else was still an unknown.

Only a yard from where he was now standing after brushing excess sand from the colorful outfit he wore, Tidus spoke up saying how it was weird. "Hahaha weird?? This is far from weird bro, we are about to experience something beyond some of your wildest imaginations. I can almost guarantee it!!!"

Stupid dirt, stupid hot sun, stupid outdoors--

Vera had recieved the same thing everyone else had, but had a more wild reaction, having been completely caught off guard and toppling over in shock. The device was clipped onto her belt, and she was crouched down, face contorted into one of annoyance as she grasped most of her pinkish-strawberry blonde-whatever hair in one hand, the other plucking out the many grass bits, clumps of dirt, and any other things that had been caught in the onslaught when she fell. So much for a pleasant camp day. 'It'll be fun, you get to see new faces!' 'There'll be lots of activities to do!' 'Lots of cute boys to see!' Only one out of three of those things had happened so far, and the counselors had already given her a warning about 'shacking up' with the opposite gender, so that was a bust.

Once she had inspected almost every lock and deemed herself presentable, she stood up, notably half a head taller then most of the kids there. She flipped her hair back and quickly spun some of it into two braids in front of her, just so some would get off her neck. It probably wasn't even that hot, but she wasn't used to the climate change. She let out a loud yawn, deciding to finally interact with whoever else had gotten one of those things.Everyone got different colors--how cool was that? Hers was violet, coinciding with her current outfit of choice. Obviously whoever planned this had everyone's preferences in mind.

As she put her hands behind her head, she looked up at the sky as she listened in on the conversation. Beyond imagination, huh? Well, wouldn't that be weird, anyway? She rolled her eyes, swatting whatever bugs were in front of her. "So what, this is like one of those video games?" She spoke, raising an eyebrow. "You get the MacGuffin item, then you go on a journey or something, battling monsters and witches and demons and whatever?" She picked up her purple-electronic-thingy and waved it around. "And if so, what does this thing even do?"

You ever have one of those days where you wished you could just go home? That one day where you just want everything to go right so, you can hop in the nearest car, go straight home, drop down to your pajamas, and lay in bed all day. Van was definitely ready to get out of the summer camp. This had not been a fun time for him whatsoever. People were certainly friendly but, Van was just too worried of the bullies and most definitely the females in the area. To add to that was the female by the name of Vera. She was by far the scariest female of them all. Her bossy and loud nature just made his skin crawl with pure and utter fright. Then there just had to be the creepy lights that descended upon the various kids in the area, leaving behind a nice present.

"What is this?" Van said in an annoyed tone of voice. The device in his right hand was colored blue and white and about as big as his palm. Something that he had never seen before. Was it a phone? Van placed it to his ear and got nothing. Plus there wasn't any form of buttons..well..besides the three small buttons. Numbers? Nope. A weird device if he had to say so. Randomly the brown haired boy began to shake his arm up and down quickly in frustration. "COME ON! WHAT DO YOU DO? HELP ME GO HOME!" Van yelled out loud enough for the whole camp to here him. Not like anyone would think he was anymore awkward then he normally acted.

"Ummm...do any of you guys know..what this does?" The cowardly child asked in a meek voice as he hoped down from the wooden fence, left hand on his hip and right hand extended to show off the device.

~~~Digital World/Server Continent~~~
Though only minutes in the real world had passed since the lights and strange devices appeared in each of the kids hands, within the Digital World itself, much more had occurred. Soon after the lights erupted and faded with their journey to the Human World, what was once seven millennia of peace was wiped out with the revival of the Great Demon Lords. From their domains deep in the heart of the Server Continent, their darkness quickly spread throughout the Digital World preceding their reappearance.
It seemed as if the entire population of the Dark Area was unleashed into the world, and for months on end they ravaged the largest of the continents, tearing and reducing entire cities to scraps in order to rebuild the Lords seats of power. More than a decade after their return, their names strike fear into every Digimon under their rule, their power and cruelty very much real.
While most of the Server Continent stretched far and wide as one single wasteland, the loud rumbling of the massive GranLocomon continued on its way, smashing through pitiful slabs of data rock that got in the way of it. Speeding along the materialising gold rails, which soon faded into wisps of data after the train had long passed, the Locomon’s large spiked wheel soon made contact not with the pale, sandy desert the continent was known for, but the dark, dead soil that appeared to stretch as far as the desert itself. The already cracked ground seemed to suggest the Locomon’s planned route was something it had done many times, its eyes focused on the colossal structure in the distance which it was soon approaching fast.
Finally, the Digimon’s wheels immediately pulled back, causing a shower of sparks to erupt as it grinded against the polished digichrome steel and gold which made up the tracks underneath, the Locomon eventually slowing down enough to stop beside the looming castle. Coming down with a loud crash, the massive drawbridge cracked the earth where it landed, the Locomon still remaining a short distance from the structure as one of the compartments which made up its long body slid open.
Shambling out from the opening, a lone Mummymon carried not only its signature gun under its long arm, but that of a large and clearly full sack over its shoulder, causing it to shake with the sound of hundreds of little coins with every step. Soon following from behind, the cloaked and long bearded figure of an old man, mask wearing and staff carrying, took his time as the Mummymon shuffled off ahead. Reaching the intended room of the palace, the old Digimon smiled as he made his way to the large throne, smelted and crafted into one solid piece of gold and jewels, taking his place upon it as he gazed throughout the room. All this while the Mummymon stood by his side and the bag it carried lay empty on the massive table, its gold coins splayed out from it as the Demon Lord Barbamon used his long claws to delicately drag each coin to him to count.
After everyone started speaking, Trip was even more timid in the way he was feeling. He didn’t know what he would say would bring any sign of intelligence to it, but then when Tidus spoke up, the rest followed suit, well maybe except for John, but that guy sometimes gives Trip the impression that the two of them are somewhat alike. Though Tidus was the first one to speak, John, aside from Trip, was one of the first ones to examine the device that each of the seven campers got.
When he looked around, Trip had cautiously examined the other campers and what their reactions were. He came to Ari, who was by all means, a very attractive girl. Her reaction to this was just a rhetoric response to Tidus’ saying of how the device coming down from the sky was just a little weird. It wasn’t until Phoenix spoke that the atmosphere within the group of seven started to change from simple, nothing-to-add-to kind of response to flat out tweaking and freaking.
When he started to go all out about how each and every one of the seven campers that had the strange devices in their palms were about to experience something. The sound of his voice gave Trip the feeling that he knew something about this, but being the person that he is, Trip didn’t ask. Actually, he had half a mind to not even speak. He was just about to, but that’s when the last two, Van and Vera, gave their own response to this all.
In Trip’s opinion, when Vera spoke, when she had something to say, Trip felt intimidated. He really didn’t know why. Perhaps the fact that she was so robust, so outgoing in her tone, and probably just a little confrontational. At least, that’s what Trip’s first impression of her was. Nonetheless, it was pretty obvious that Trip felt intimidated to speak when she had already covered the grounds of which he was going to address. When Van spoke, it was the complete opposite. Nothing about his tone was intimidating. Trip felt like Van could really understand him and what his little quirks are. When Van yelled at the device about what it does and how he just wanted to go home, Trip found himself just laughing uncontrollably. It wasn’t anything that was like a ‘laughing my ass off’ kind of thing, but it was just something that would bring attention to Trip.
After a half of a minute, Trip’s laughter had ceased. His face was red for the remainder of the minute. He then spoke. “Um, so, this thing is pretty cool.” Trip said. He looked down at his device, and he saw it was of similar shades to his clothing. Red, Orange, and brown all over, but a silver metallic was the main color around the screen.
---------------------------------
As one could probably imagine, all seven of the kids were still wondering about the device that they were holding in the palm in their hands. However, everything was about to change. Each device emitted a strange golden light. It was very similar to how the devices themselves came to be in the ands of the kids. However, these lights all engulfed each and every one of the seven children.
One-by-one, their bodies were being reduced to data by the same light that engulfed them. First went Van, then followed by Trip, Vera, and Phoenix. John, Ari, and Tidus soon followed suit. The de-materialization of their bodies teleported the seven kids through a gate of some kind that had a vertical representation of the red sea when Moses had split it in ancient times. In the aforementioned order, each kid soon found themselves falling in all directions. First it was up, then down, then right, then left, and lastly they were going in circles until each one of them landed about ten yards from each other in a wide circle. However, with the trees and signs and branches and leaves all in the middle of them. That wasn’t all that was there. Right in front of each kid, waiting for them to arrive, was a monster of animal shape. Each kid had one in front of them, and this would prove to be quite the encounter. And in some wondrous way, their bags they brought with to camp came with them too.
---------------------------------
Trip was quite dizzy. Spinning and falling and twisting almost made Trip really, really sick. He could have sworn that he vomited about five times and swallowed it all five times. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it seems that he found himself in a foreign place. At the moment that Trip realized this, he was on the ground. So, he got up, brushed the dirt off of his pants, shirt, and shoulders, and looked around. He, however, didn’t have the chance to really look far cause there was this hawk-like creature staring at him.
Trip noticed the hawk-like creature and he wasn’t sure how to react. On one hand, this was really cool and seemed like something out of his favorite anime. On the other hand, he was terrified to even make a move in fear of it trying to attack him. So, Trip did nothing. He didn’t budge not even a muscle. The creature, however, did something that Trip was nowhere ready for. It glomped him.
A rather loud thud sound could be heard as Trip and the creature were on the ground now. Trip was freaking out by now.
“Please don’t hurt me. I’m only 14. I don’t want to die. I have my parents who are super rich. If it’s money you want, then you can have it.” Trip couldn’t stop. His words came out like water out of a water fountain.
“Trip, I’m not going hurt you. I’m your friend.”
The hawk-like creature said. His voice was almost in a preppy, English accent.
Trip looked at the bird creature thinking he was crazy. “I don’t have many friends who have beaks and have wings.”
The little bird creature looked at him with a half-baked smile. “I’m not joking, Trip. I have been waiting for a long time to finally meet you. My name is Hawkmon, but my friends, which you are, just call me Hawkmon.”
Trip just couldn’t take it. He couldn’t take all of this all at once. He had to get away. “I-I-I have to find my friends — my campmates.” Trip slowly backed away as he turned to go find his campmates.
Hawkmon shook his head, and followed Trip. “You humans are so silly.”
Pride Castle: Seven Sin Kingdom, Server Continent
Days have passed. Maybe it has been months. Yes, it has definitely been months since the Seven Demon Lords have awoken. Each have arose in their own specific way and have took presidence in their own part of Seven Sin Kingdom. The king of them all, the one who leads these dangerous, evil digimon into battle is one Lord Lucemon, the child born from Pride. Lucemon’s general appearance looks like that of a child. Though not his true form, this is indeed his preferred form to be in. A white cloth is the only clothing he wears. Think of what an angel usually wears. A white cloth wrapped around his body, but it leaves his arms and part of his torso exposed. When one looks at Lucemon in this form, he will greet them with a hand wave as he’s someone that never greets with a hand shake. His ten white angel wings are what gives off a rather innocent feel to him.
This little child of a digimon has been waiting for seven days for the Demon Lord of Greed, Barbamon to make his appearance known in Pride Castle. It was seven days before the present time that Lucemon had summoned Barbamon. It wasn’t just a general thing. He wanted to see the old man specifically cause of what has transpired in the real world. The plans that were set in motion from the moment that the demon lords awoken to the very minute that it is now have began to unravel.
As the seconds came, Barbamon and Mummymon came into the throne room where the size itself was huge. The high ceiling walls were graced with pillars that were in two rows — one on the right and one on the left. The throne was in the very center of it and with twenty Knightmon on each side of the throne: ten on the left and ten on the right. Along the columns of the pillars, between each actually, there were little statues of Lucemon himself. He really loved himself, so he had to have those statues.
The walls were made from the same material that Lucemon’s throne was: Marble. To be more specific,pearl and onyx marble made up the walls and throne. The throne was pretty big and had an assortment of rubies, sapphires, emeralds, pearls, diamonds, and any kind of expensive stone imaginable. The last touch on it — the seat — was laced with the most comfortable leather imaginable. The puffy cushion made Lucemon seem like he was in heaven every time he sat down. The seat itself was blood red, and never absorbed his weight of the many times that Lucemon has sat in it.
Barbamon and Mummymon each came to the sight of Lucemon’s glance. The light yellow eyes judged Barbamon. This was the one that Lucemon could get along with the most merely because that he and Barbamon were most alike than anyone else of the Seven Demon Lords. “I appreciate you coming, Barbamon.” Lucemon said. “There is much we need to discuss.” He said.
He eye-balled Mummymon. He felt as if the bandaged freak didn’t belong in the presence of royalty. “You, Mummymon!” Lucemon said. He waved his hands and half of the Knightmon within the room came forward. “Please, leave us be. My Knightmon will escort you outside where you will wait for your master to return to you.” Lucemon demanded. He gave Mummymon the choice to either leave on his own accord or be escorted/forced out by the Knightmon.
Mummymon remained standing by its master’s side from the moment Barbamon sat down upon the gold throne. Tucking the massive and gold and silver plated rifle under its bandaged arm, the undead creature stood stoically as Lucemon thanked the Demon Lord for attending. It wasn’t until the leader of the Demon Lords actually spoke towards the bandage wrapped creature that Mummymon finally turned to him.
You, Mummymon! Please, leave us be. My Knightmon will escort you outside where you will wait for your master to return to you.” Blinking its single yellow eye at the turning Knightmon, their swords always ready, Mummymon glared back at the armoured creatures as it readied Obelisk still under its arm.
Just as it was about to strike against the Knightmon, the loud crack of spiked staff against the tiled floor caused Mummymon to snap out of its rage, turning to look at its master.
Go and wait outside the room. Now.” Blinking once more as if thinking, the Mummymon nodded feebly before turning and shuffling back out of the room, using its long arms to reach the two doors and soundly shut them tight after it left.
So, you wished to discuss the lights at the time of our revival?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Atop of the colossal mountain that pierced the clouds and towered above everything else upon the island, something strange had nested and with help from the always present mist and stormy clouds no one knew what. No other being who lived on the island would ever willingly reach its peak to face the problem and those who even tried were never seen once they passed through the mist, further discouraging others from trying again.

Past the barrier of mist and clouds, the top of the mountain was in a constant state of violent gusts of wind as well as random bolts of lighting, striking and cracking the rock all around and revealing the inner workings that made up not only the island but the entire Digital World itself. With the appearance of the tears in the solid rock, exposing the faint glimpses of data as well as numerous bundles of cables, a long barbed tip tendril suddenly jabbed deeply into the gathering of wires, squirming around for a bit before finally settling.

While the tendril stretched back into the darkness that the clouds and tip of the mountain provided as shade, it seemed many others of the kind the tendril belonged to stayed bunched together throughout the small cave while perched on the large rock between them all was a creature not like those around it.

Flapping its small appearance of wings, the creature continued to claw anxiously on the rock it stood upon, its mouth full of sharp teeth snapped at the hanging cocoon like creatures that hung and laid from any sort of spot they had chosen for themselves. The lone creature’s tail swung idly side to side, the tip of it revealing a collection of wires that appeared to stretch and reach out further into the cave itself.

Clawing more against the already worn stone, a fresh piece was soon chipped away revealing the data and cables yet again but with a difference. While the fresh cleaves of rock from the bolts of lightning revealed cables full of energy, the chipped stone from the clawing creature instead showed a dark, almost sickly sap drip free from its bundle of wires.

There Lucemon sat, grinning at how easy it was to order around Mummymon to go away from the company of him and Barbamon. Of course he seemed like he was about to destroy all the Knightmon. Lucemon noticed that the gun in one of his arms began to charge small amounts of data, but Barbamon stopped that. The firm grasp of authority and fear was evident within the tone of his voice. Mummymon, the great undead digimon only second-best to Pharaohmon.

As the Knightmon led out Mummymon from the throne room and to the GranLocomon, Lucemon finally could get to the reason why he had summoned Barbamon to his elegant part of the Seven Sin Kingdom. “Ah yes, that is partially the reasoning for us having this little meet and greet.” Lucemon said. He leaned forward, but only ever-so slightly.

His bright yellow eyes met up with the gaze of Barbamon. It was like their souls were interacting. “As you know, the seven lights are the signs of our demise. It has been seven months since all of us have awoken — well six of us, anyways.” Lucemon said. He let out a little chuckle. Belphemon was the only one who hadn’t awoken. That lazy son of a bitch always waits till the last minute to awaken from anything. “Never mind that fat piece of shit, we have to talk about the kids. They have arrived to our world. Soon, though not in the following months, there will be a time where our reign over the Digital World will be compromised. We must prepare, Barbamon. “ Lucemon paused.

His sudden pause was followed by him standing up from his throne. His powerful abilities levitated him to the eye-level of Barbamon. “Aside myself, you are the most powerful of all Demon Lords, but you are also the most conieving. That is the exact reason I will trust you with the task of ridding OUR world of these pesky little children. Do away with them before they get a hold of what we have done so much to keep hidden. Do not fail me, Barbamon.” Lucemon said with conviction. He was just as serious as his faith in Barbamon was.

Creating bonds to save our world and bring peace
"Oh MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" Van screamed out in complete fear as the light turned him into data. Why was this happening? Who was doing this? He didn't know what was going on and it was scaring him so bad that he was going to need therapy after this. Though that was if he even survived any of this. As his body was transferred, Van could feel himself being thrown around in various directions. The young boy didn't understand what was going on. Suddenly his body was thrust into the ground without sustaining any injury to his being. Van laid there for a moment as a shadow imposed itself over the young teen's body.

Eyes opened slowly in hopes of visualizing a world where he was home. Instead he caught the sight of a blue...dragon. That is exactly what Van was looking face to face with. Not a moment later, Van leapt to his feet with his hands on his head and screaming at the top of his lungs. "DON'T EAT ME! DON'T EAT ME! I DON'T EVEN TASTE LIKE BACON!" Van's voice was full of horror and his face wasn't exactly displaying happiness. He ran and ran while the dragon thing just watched. Lucky for anyone's ears, Van had stopped. Unfortunately for Van, he had ran into a tree. "Ow." His voice was low, rubbing his face.

"Van....stop it."

"HOW DOD YOU KNOW MY NAME?! WHO AND WHAT ARE YOU!?"

"It's me...Dracomon. I'm a digimon, silly."

Arianna looked to the campers who spoke after her. The first one had red hair and red eyes- he seemed less surprised by the devices and lights and more excited than anything else. In fact, he seemed to actually have an idea as to what they were. Before she could ask further, however, the one other girl among them spoke.

"So what, this is like one of those video games? You get the MacGuffin item, then you go on a journey or something, battling monsters and witches and demons and whatever? And if so, what does this thing even do?"

The girl seemed to be the tallest among them. But even so, Ari cringed at her tone of voice. It resembled that of many of the girls at her own school- popular, usually bossy, girly, and with their focus on clothes or guys. She didn't want to judge a person right off like that, but it was difficult not to.

"Ummm...do any of you guys know..what this does?" voiced another camper. He had a much meeker voice than the girl, and seemed a bit shy and awkward.

They were an interesting group of campers, for sure. She was still wondering about how there were seven of them, but before she could say anything, the strange device in her hand began glowing immensely.

"What the-?!"

The light moved and expanded until it engulfed her completely, blinding her in the process. She barely had a chance to respond when the ground suddenly disappeared below her feet. The next thing she knew, she was being thrown around in some kind of vortex, twisting and turning, going up and down, right and left. She had been in extreme situations, but this just took the cake. After what felt like minutes of being tossed around, she was slammed into the soft-soiled ground. She had never been more relieved to have her face palmed to the floor of grass and soil.

It took her about a minute to recover herself. Arianna used her hands to push herself off the floor, and into a kneeling position, to which she brushed off the dirt from her arms and legs. A few scrapes from the fall, but nothing too serious. She stood up, and looked around to scan her surroundings and figure out her bearings and location, but the area didn't look familiar at all. Certainly nowhere near the cabins of their camp. In the distance, about ten yards off, she saw one of her fellow campers. She was about to call out when she realized something off about him. No... not about him, but about whatever was standing next to him. As she finally focused on it, she realized that it was a bird the size of a small dog. And it was standing on two feet, with a straight body posture and what looked like hands and wings at the same time. With a Native American looking feather on its head. AND it seemed to be talking to the dark haired boy. And in the other direction, she saw another boy, the shy and more awkward one. There was no hawk-like creature in front of him. Nope. There was a purple dragon.

"Ari? Arianna?"

From behind her, a voice said her name. It was the only thing that broke her out of her reverie of wonder. Arianna did a 180 degree turn, and though she didn't see anyone (or anything) at first, she noticed a shadow behind the tree. With a confident voice, Ari replied, "Yes. That's me."

The shadow slowly grew larger as the speaker of the voice stepped out from the tree and showed herself to Arianna in the light. Ari's eyes widened in surprise. The creature that stepped out looked nothing like the hawk, which was what Ari was expecting. Bright yellow, with yin-yang symbols on her legs, she resembled something more of a anamorphic fox. With a pointed nose, long ears, and a long, white-tipped tail, there really wasn't any other way to describe her. As she stepped closer to Ari, Ari also realized that the fox was extremely tall. At least a head taller than herself.

"I have been waiting for you... for a very long time. I am Renamon. Your partner."

Arianna truly wasn't sure how to react. This creature, called Renamon, her partner? Partner for what? And where were they anyway? Certainly not Virginia anymore. That much, she knew. Still at a loss, she did the first thing she could think of. She put her hand out for a handshake.

"Renamon, huh? Well, um... I'm Arianna. But then, you already knew that..."

Renamon looked at the hand, looking confused as she replied, "Yes... I can't explain how I knew, but I did. Um..."

Arianna let out a light chuckle, realizing that Renamon had no idea what she intended. Reaching out, she took Renamon's hand (or would it be called a paw?) and put it against her own, gripping it firmly and shaking it.

"It's a handshake. It's what you do when you greet someone else. A friendly greeting." Ari smiled. To be honest, she could not explain how easily she warmed up to Renamon or the entire situation. But things just felt right, somehow... in a very strange and unorthodox way.

"Oh God, is this really happening right now??"

Light was spraying out of the device that Phoenix held and at once his mind started to run a muck with ideas of what was happening to not just he but the entire group of kids that had been with him on the beach. All of them were seemingly sucked away into an expanse of swirling lights, what appeared to be data and colors that kept twisting and wrapping around them. Phoenix couldn't see anybody but himself as this happened but he had to assume that the same type of experience was happening to them all.

A sensation of spinning was felt by Phoenix for what felt like a very long time, he was unsure of how much time had passed as thoughts of the game he played previously were wrapping around the boys mind again and again. "This is crazy, the dream must have been connected to what is happening, but how?? Why??" Suddenly and more than a bit abruptly, Phoenix smashed into the ground head first, he was surprised that the blow didn't render him completely unconscious. His eyes needed a bit of time to focus on the surroundings but his assumptions had been right....

"This is that forest. I KNEW it!!!"

Nearby a creature that was all too familiar stood on the ground, looking at Phoenix with a toothy grin, "Ah, so you're finally here Phoenix, its me, Corbinek." Phoenix didn't even have time to be perplexed. His memory of the dream before getting the odd device where he'd heard Corbinek's voice played back in his mind.

Phoenix rubbed his eyes, then wiped the dirt off his face before turning to a creature he'd known about for a very long time. "So you ARE real. I always wondered why the game was so innovative and why dad made such a big deal over it..." Phoenix was both in awe and amused that something like this had happened. He'd only seen one word in the game that made sense with what Corbinek could be but the other information had been obscured. "You're a digital monster right?? Digimon for short??" It was weird...Phoenix didn't remember anything about the game much less how he played it before. Most of his memories were gone. Things were already complicated enough.

Corbinek touched the top of his hat and grinned again, "Yep that's right, now instead of on a screen we can play together in person. But when I say play I mean go on an adventure to set things right." The digimon looked over by the tree where Phoenix had fallen, pointing at his book bag. It levitated itself over to the duo, an action which made Phoenix smile. He had used the ability of Corbinek often within the game.

"Game??" He questioned it aloud while moving closer to his digimon friend. "I guess this means that we are going to be together for awhile." Corbinek nodded in agreement and hugged Phoenix, accidentally knocking his hat off. "Oh you look even more adorable with that thing off," Phoenix bent down to pick it up and hand it to Corbinek whom put it back on.

The digimon shrugged, "I guess I do but I'm a lot smarter when I wear the hat. Without it, I'm Agumon...with it I'm Agumon Nakase." Corbinek was only being half truthful to Phoenix about that specific information. In reality he was Agumon Nakase with the hat off as well but when other digimon or even a human wore the hat they also became heightened intellectually.

Phoenix sighed, noticing he was hyped about meeting Corbinek and had paid little attention to the others meeting their own digimon parters. "Well everybody what are we going to do next?? It seems that all seven of us are here for a reason and we all have been destined to be here. I don't know what you all are feeling right now and wont lie and say that I do but the best bet is to move forward with these cute lil guys."

"I'm with Phoenix. Renamon, Dracomon, Hagurumon, Hawkmon, Salamon and Moondramon all know that this is a serious thing to all of us. We need to start working together right away and convince our digimon partners completely that the fate of not only our world but their world is at stake." Phoenix eyed Corbinek when he said this..."Umm well maybe I shouldn't start freaking all the humans out."

Phoenix sighed and ran over to Van, "Eyy, I don't think this lil guy here wants to eat you bro. They are here to help us, just as we must be here to help them." Phoenix couldn't stop laughing at this point, Van literally had been screaming and yelling about not wanting to get eaten and tasting like bacon. It was just too much. "Lemme guess, " he poked more fun at his pal, "You think dragon digimon like to eat people??"

Hawkmon was a good friend of Corbinek's, so the reptile like digimon moved out of the way as Trip came running toward the small group. "I'm right here bro, its okay we're all here." Phoenix spoke to Trip with a look of dismay. You'd think that some many kids playing video games and reading manga would have prepared the seven a bit more for this kind of thing. "Looks like in the face of new challenges or the unknown we all freak out a bit..."

"Humans ARE silly Dracomon. By the way, have you seen Arnell anywhere?? I've been looking all over for her..."

At the end of time, listening to the drums...
Tidus couldn't stop looking from the strange device now sitting in his hand, to the other campers, who were clearly just as perplexed as he was, well, all except Phoenix, that is, who seemed alarmingly amused by the unfolding situation, it was his words, of course, that alarmed Tidus the most "Hahaha weird?? This is far from weird bro, we are about to experience something beyond some of your wildest imaginations. I can almost guarantee it!!!".

It was these words that seemed to light a fuse on the next few moments, first, Vera responded with a surprisingly biting remark, she, as far as Tidus could tell, was the least affected by what was happening, but her relaxed demeanor was more than made up for by Van, as he began to freak out, not that Tidus was surprised however, he'd seemed like he was hating this camp when it was normal, let alone now that things had taken a turn for... Whatever they were now.

'Well, best start with who knows what...' Tidus thought to himself, preparing to ask Phoenix what he knew about the place when he was cut off by a brilliant, blinding flash of light that emanated from the device in his hand. The feeling was, to put it lightly, bizarre, but a better word would be diddlying insane, Tidus could feel that he was no longer quite whole, but had no idea what was happening as bit by bit his entire body was transformed into data, and pulled through the barrier to the digital world.

Finally, Tidus arrived on solid ground, that is to say, he bit the dust, hard. Groaning as he rubbed his throbbing head, he started to push himself off the ground, coming to rest on his hands and knees as his eyes focused on the blue, emerald crested dragon head inches front his face. Now, Tidus wasn't one for language, and preferred never to curse, but as the thoughts raced through his head from the images received from his eyes traveled to his brain, he could only think of one appropriate reaction"HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" He screamed as he threw a wild swing from his fist out in front of him.

Monodramon had waited for what felt like forever for this day. He couldn't say why, or even how he knew where to be, but as he saw the humans fall to the ground, and especially as he spotted his own particular human, a dirty blonde haired, only slightly goofy looking male, ('course all humans were a bit goofy looking, if you asked him) crash a few feet away from him, a shiver of anticipatory excitement rushed through his core, all the way from the point of his head to the tips of his wings, and he rushed over. As he stood in front of his new partner, he was preparing what he would say to welcome him, how he would explain that they were partners and that, through the power of trust and friendship, they would overcome amazing odds and go on amazing adventures, that together, they were unstoppable. So of course he was unprepared when Tidus took a frantic swing at him, the blow landing cleanly on the side of his head and causing him to stumble around momentarily, struggling to remember his introduction "Hiiiya d-digimon, I'm yooourrr part-nerrrrr..."

Tidus jumped to his feet after the blow landed, looking at the creature in front of him, to the other kids, to the creatures that seemed to be paired with them, then he heard the word "partner" and the pieces started to slip into place 'wait, seven kids, seven creatures, they seem harmless, partners... oh crap!' Rushing forward, he grabbed the digimon, helping him steady himself. "I'm so sorry! I was just, like, you freaked me out! I'm Sorry! I'm Tidus, and you're my partner?" He asked, looking worriedly to the digimon.

"Bleaararargh!", Monodramon shook himself off, smiling a toothy grin at his human partner "That's right, I'm your partner, Monodramon!" The meeting was short lived though, they could faintly hear Corbinek and Phoenix as they talked, and it seemed like the group was starting to gather, it was finally time for answers, and Tidus had a lot of questions. As he had heard Corbinek mention something about the fate of the world, he knew exactly what to ask first, what they all needed to know now that they were trapped in this new world. "Hey, why are you the only one wearing clothes?"

Spinning.

So much spinning.

Other than the garbled view being a bit nauseating, the trip really didn't seem that bad. In fact, John found it to be kinda fun. Though after a few moments of wonder, he realized that all things must come to an end and wondered what exactly that meant for him. If I hit land, I'm a pancake. Water would pretty much mean the same. Really hoping this is actually a dream.

Closing his eyes and hoping for at least a peaceful end to this realistic dream, he suddenly noticed the lack of a falling sensation soon after. Peaking one eye open, he came face-to-face with a metallic face, red eyes staring into John's. "Did you have a nice trip?"

John, ever so slowly, nodded his head. Blinking once, twice, and pinching himself on the third try, he gave up trying to believe this was something he could dream up. Sitting up, he examined the forest he landed in, observing signs in odd places, and decided he was probably still on Earth. Standing up and looking at the strange metal creature that greeted him, it held out one of the gears it used as hands. "Nice to meet you John, my name is Hagurumon."

Shaking the outstretched gear with his hand, John gave up trying to figure things out himself and just went with it."Yeah, nice to meet you. Um, do you happen to know where we are?"

"You're in the Digiworld!"
"The...Digiworld?"
"Yep!"
"Alrighty. Are there any other humans here? Like me?
"Oh yeah, they're right over there."

Looking up again, John saw the group slowly gathering in the middle of the convenient circle they landed in. Walking over with Hagurumon at his side, John slipped his jacket on and shoved his pockets inside, missing the initial reactions of his fellow campers and wanting to see what looks they had on their faces. This is going to be a loooong, long day. I can already tell.

Barbamon’s long nails continued to delicately latch onto the sides of each of his coins, stacking them into perfect little towers rather with an absent mind, his full attention more on the child-like Lucemon. It was true, from the old days the Demon Lords had been warned of a day when their rule would come to an end, when their lands and dominion over all within the Digital World will be swept clean with the appearance of the lights and bring balance back to the world’s Guardians.

Do away with them before they get a hold of what we have done so much to keep hidden. Do not fail me, Barbamon.” Spoke Lucemon, his tiny form floating into the air in order to meet the eyes of the mask that Barbamon wore. Running his free hand along his white beard, the ancient Demon Lord showed off his large fangs with the appearance of his wide smirk as he swept the towers of gold back into the bag.

I have been preparing for this moment. Everything should go as planned.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the children met with each of their partner Digimon, the growing sense of something watching them only now started to make itself clear to everyone present in the jungle clearing. Though the soft rustling could be mistaken to be the cause from the gentle gusts of wind, it was the echoing laughter that wouldn't be so easily explained away.
While the strangeness of the situation would most likely be unsettling to the humans, it would be the young Digimon themselves that would know of the true danger that was about to appear, being one of the most dangerous creatures on the island that was clearly out to hunt them. As the laughter grew to a rather mockingly loud level, the rustling within the vegetation quickly followed suit until the one responsible finally made itself known.
Floating out into the open, the creature’s body seemed to be a mass of tendrils complete with an over sized head and long antennas. It was the equally as huge mouth of the creature along with its freakishly long arms that were the most eye-catching of all. That and the still cackling laughter coming from it as it stared at everyone in the clearing with its wide eyes. (Digimon)
Nowhere in particular.
Just about everyone had their own reaction to the digimon they had in front of them. Trip wasn’t the only one who acted a bit weird around these little creatures. Van had a similar reaction. The only different between Van and Trip’s reaction was that Van’s was a bit more vocal than that of Trips. Trip had himself more collected, but equally as nervous and scared. When the brown and dark red Hawkmon told Trip that he was his friend, the shy teenager admitted he already had friends who didn’t have a beak. That was about three minutes ago.
By the time Trip — and Hawkmon — gathered to the center, five kids and their digimon partners. Yes, five as in one is missing already. Or rather, one isn’t gathering in the center of what could be described as a clear center surrounded by trees and odd signs. Trip was trying to just find his center. Being around his campmates was one thing, but the five other creatures added to the teenagers was a bit hard for Trip to act like himself. Well, actually that’s only partially true. He normally is quiet, so probably, right at this very moment, Trip is acting just like how he would at any given moment, but nonetheless, Trip is very uncomfortable.
As Trip was about to start wheezing, he heard a rather comforting voice and words. They were the voice and words of Phoenix. The words made Trip feel a lot better. Trip found himself at ease when talking with Phoenix. Granted it wasn’t like that at first, but the two of them kind of clicked in the first month of camp. Trip sees him as a brother-type-of-friend. His words eased Trip as the shy teenager saw that everyone had gathered.
“Ah, so there are more of people like you, Trip.” Hawkmon said. He looked around what was now a circle of teenagers and their new digimon. Moondramon, Renamon, Hagurumon, Dracomon, and Corbinek were all with their human partners. The exception was Salamon who was missing from the group. That cat, never wanting to follow suit.
At this point, everyone was just getting used to the idea of this new world and its inhabitants. However, just when things were about to get normal-ish, something came. First, as Hawkmon had heard, it was just a small wind gust that he felt uneasy about. He didn’t think much of it at the time(two minutes ago), but the next uneasy feeling was not only evident, but also Hawkmon and the other digimon heard — and knew — the sudden laughter heard in and all around the forest.
“Uh, guys, d-d-do you hear that?”
Trip’s stutter was from the laughter he just heard.
“Trip — and other humans — things are about to get very, very dangerous.” Hawkmon said as he took a guarding stance as he stood in front of Trip. “Come out, Keramon.”
It didn’t take even one second after what Hawkmon said when Keramon showed itself. He wasn’t coming from the side that Hawkmon and Trip were facing, but rather the complete opposite. He was coming from the direction that John and Hagurumon were facing.
“What do you want with us, Keramon?” Hawkmon forced out his words. He wasn’t going to show it, but he was terrified of this digimon. Aside Devimon, this specific digimon is probably the most evil, most vile, and most powerful digimon on File Island.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Inside of Pride Castle, Lucemon and Barbamon are just finishing up their talk about how Barbamon is ‘handling’ the events on File Island. Even as they finish up their last words, Lucemon can feel the fear coming from that place. He can feel the terror that Keramon is about to induce into the minds of the kids and their digimon partners. Even as that is happening, Lucemon is still more concerned about Barbamon’s next plans.
Lucemon eyed Barbamon. “Should? Are you implying that there will be an ounce of failure in your plan?” Lucemon’s conviction and his emotionless tone held so much anger within it. Lucemon didn’t have to show his power. The demon lords knew of his power and when they failed or even hinted a possibility of failure, Lucemon made it be known that he wouldn’t accept that in any shape, way, or form.
Arianna felt relieved when she slowly caught sight of each of the other campers. When they all slowly gathered together at the center of the clearing Ari looked at each of the creatures. There was a hawk, a blue dragon, a purple dinosaur/dragon, an orange dinosaur that seemed to be wearing a graduation gown (looked good on the little guy, nevertheless), and what looked like a gear. All in all, lots of dragons/dinosaurs, but there definitely didn't seem to be much of a common theme. Add in her own partner, Renamon, who was a fox. Speaking of which, Ari turned to look at Renamon, who stood beside her, and finally back at the others.
"Are there others as tall as you, or are most of... you guys that short, and you're just special?"
Renamon turned her head slightly to the side. The question was unexpected and a bit strange to her. "I suppose... most of us Digital Monsters tend to be small at this stage. I don't know many that are of around the same height as I am..." She looked at the others and couldn't help but agree that she didn't quite fit in with them.
"Hmm... guess you can't control how you grow. And Digital monsters? That's what you guys are called?"
Renamon nodded. "Yes. Though most of us call ourselves Digimon for short."
Ari nodded in understanding, though her heart was silently pumping away. As calm as she seemed, the whole situation was just plain bizarre. For all she knew, it could all be a dream and she would wake up from it any second. Though she'd never had a dream that felt so real before... as she glanced around the group, she mentally did a count in her head. Huh? Wait a moment... Going through everyone again, she realized she only reached 6, including herself. Were they missing a person-
"Oh. Her." That irritating tall girl wasn't among the six of them. Which was strange- she could have sworn the girl had a device and would have been sucked into the vortex with everyone else. So why wasn't she here? Don't tell me she got lost farther out in this forest place...
"Hey guys- I think we're missing-"
But a laughter interrupted her, and echoed throughout the forest. Automatically, Renamon stepped in front of Arianna, putting her hand out in front, as if to protect her. Rather than reassuring, though, it only made Arianna more scared of the laughter's source.
Uh, guys, d-d-do you hear that? Trip stuttered.
Trip — and other humans — things are about to get very, very dangerous.” Hawkmon responded to his partner.
Renamon sensed Keramon's presence immediately when he showed himself, and swiftly maneuvered herself in front of Arianna, intent on protecting her. One arm was held out, and the other was balled into a tight fist. Arianna could sense the tension, and her heart skipped a bit when she saw the creature with the chilling laugh. She gulped nervously. "I'm guessing he's not with you guys?"
Renamon shook her head. "No. Keramon may be a Digimon, but he's not one of us. He's evil." Her eyes narrowed in complete focus, watching Keramon carefully.
What do you want with us, Keramon?” Hawkmon asked. Renamon looked at the little Digimon. He was scared. Terrified even. She could tell. But despite that, he was putting on a brave face for his partner and his friends. She knew she had to do the same.
"Leave us alone Keramon. Our business shouldn't concern you. Go back to where you belong."
"This thing!?!?!" Immediately Phoenix had a memory flashback to playing the game and seeing the creature that was being called Keramon. He couldn't compile any thoughts other than that it had been a serious hassle in the game and if this was all real as the group was coming to realize then the reactions of the other digimon including Hawkmon and Renamon were quite appropriate. "Crap, we just got here is it really that much to ask that we get a bit of peace before everything around here gets completely out of control??"
Corbinek looked a bit less wary than Hawkmon did but that was only because he didn't specifically have a notion of fear. "I see you've come already. You really should have had some data remodeling on that ugly face of yours Keramon." Corbinek laughed softly at his own joke before continuing it fully. "I mean geez, you have to ease humans into that ugliness a bit at a time, you can't do it all at once!!!" Phoenix looked at his partner with a stupefied look on his face but was still smiling. "If I were you I'd leave Keramon. It might be true that right now you are certainly stronger as a rookie level and being influenced way beyond us but there are too many of us here for you to take on at once."
Phoenix was perfectly fine with everything that Corbinek was saying. He didn't know how much of it was true but why go against his partner?? Keramon looked really scary but if Corbinek and the others worked together it should all come together fine. "Seems to me like either we are going to run, or fight. What other possibilities do we have??" Reason was a probability but Phoenix could tell from the demeanor Keramon had that the digimon wasn't up for reasoning of any kind and at best the group or at least a few of them would have to defend themselves.
"Umm...shoot." Phoenix took a deep breath before eyeing the entire group. He felt like nobody really was as responsive as they should be in a situation like this which was unfolding before them. "Maybe you know some things we don't Keramon?? Like perhaps you have come to tell us we are going to save the digital world from destruction like we have done similarly in so many video games growing up??"
Corbinek waved his hand toward some low hanging braches behind Keramon's position, tearing them right from the tree. "So what is it gonna be Keramon?? Are you going to get lost or are we going to play??" The question hung in the air just like the branches from the tree did...
