When Mickey left disney castle...

His letter stated that Donald and Goofy must find the "Key."

How did Mickey know that there would be someone with a key?

He also refers to the person with the key as "Him."

SO did Mickey know Sora would be a keyblade wielder, before Sora did? Or was it Riku he was expecting?

Mickey was investigating the destruction of the worlds and discovered the only way to reverse it was by sealing the Door to Darkness. The Door to Darkness needs one Keyblade from the Realm of Light and one Keyblade from the Realm of Darkness to be sealed. Mickey already decided to retrieve the Kingdom Key to the Realm of Darkness. He knew that there had to be at least one other Keyblader in the Realm of Light. There are hints that Mickey tried contacting Riku in the first game, but found Sora instead. The Ultimania Interviews confirm that Mickey was the one talking to Sora during his awakening.

^ Not only that but in the scene added to the KH1FM Mickey finally does get into contact with Riku once he's booted out of his body and sent to the Dark Realm.
He says outright that he's been trying to get into touch with Riku.

As for why Mickey knew there was a key....well thats a bit obvious really. There are other keyblade wielders in the Realm of Light. We don't know how many but it's been a fact since KH1 that more than just Sora, Mickey and Yen Sid exist there.
Mickey was simply banking on that and trying to contact one to help him seal the DtD and ended up contacting Sora. He was trying to reach Riku but got Sora instead.

Kinda funny really, Sora ended up receiving both Mickey's call and Riku's Kingdom Key even though he himself was a normal boy at that point.

Whoa, you just blew my mind. I never realized this but Sora really did become a hero by accident. xD

lol Yes, yes he certainly did. xD He's the unintentional anti-Xehanort caught up in the schemes set in place by Xehanort himself.

Which, ironically, gives Xehanort even more parallels to Voldemort, as both of them created their biggest Nemesis "accidentally" with their own actions and plans.

lol What makes it worse is that Xehanort didn't even confront Sora directly to cause it. Voldemort tried to kill Harry which is what first tied them together, Xehanort on the other hand more or less set off a domino affect and Sora's the end result. xD
