the keyblade in kh 2

has anyone really noticed that the keyblade has really no purpose in kh2 i think they justv stuck tht gummi path thing in there to have a reason to keep the keyblade.

dont get me wrong i like the keyblade but i want it to have a purpose

it acctually does.
the Organization wants to get rid of the heartless so they can get all the hearts n the keyblade frees those hearts n then the org. collects them.

Would it make sence if a warrior threw awy the weapon he has used for many a battle, not really.

exactly; do you go around questioning why other videogame characters have weapons? no, not likely. Its just a weapon, maybe a highly magical weapon, but still, it doesn't need anyother purpose than to protect its weilder.
