The clear blue sky.

The glistening sea.

The empowering smell of competition. The knowledge that this day will be the beginning something amazing and unfathomable.

That's the scene at the Kaiba Dome, newly remodeled. White, silvery, sleek metal in an enormous eliptical shape. It no longer looked like it once did, as the oval stadium used to resemble the fearsome head of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Seto Kaiba had thought against it, as to widen the range of players, and to reel more in. He was gonna appeal to an international crowd. And, as he peered down on the crowd from a blimp circling the Kaiba Dome, was glad he had done exactly that. People were flooding the pier by the thousands.

He smirked. He had given up much for this opportunity, but now...he would go down in history. As if he wasn't already.

20 long years had passed since his consistent adventures with Yugi. In the ten following, Kaiba worked to revolutionize Duel Monsters as the world knew it. He set aside past quarrels with Maxamillion Pegasus, to discuss the creation of something new. Kaiba had to make sure he would not create something too strong, that just anyone could defeat him or throw off the balance of skill in the game. But, it could not be too weak or a passable gimmick. Dungeon Dice Monsters could blow him. He needed to make an impact! A huge one! Not just technology, but to change the face of Duel Monsters.

For, the new technology was already in circulation. D-Wheels. What seemed like a ridiculous gimmick itself, the D-Wheels were impressive vehicles, motorcycles, used to participate in Riding Duels. It ushered in months of laughter and criticism, and Kaiba had, breifly, worried it would be the end of him. Eventually, the bad words ceased and people began using D-Wheels for leisure, and dueling. His new Kaiba Dome had a smooth, oval track going around the rim of the stadium just under the stands. Camera systems hooked up, and the computers would connect to the D-Wheels, providing coverage of the match from the players' perspective, alongside the entertainment value of monsters flying along, dishing out attacks at high speeds. The adrenaline was making his invention immensly popular.

But, Kaiba needed more than a way to duel. He wanted the duel itself to change. He wanted new fears, worries, and triumphs. Putting the duelests on a motorbike wouldn't do anything there. Speed Spells, Speed Counters...fuck that. They were just gimmicks too, a way to make Riding Duels a little more different. For years he researched, trying to figure out what would cater to duelists all over. Looking into old Industrial Illusion records late one night...

He found it.

Pegasus, gaining years, had worked on developing a new concept, and was more lenient on letting his secrets go. An entirely new type of card-- Combining power with originality and reliability. There was enough variety to make it tolerable and enjoyable as well. These cards were colored white, and all obscenely powerful by the current standards. But, in due time, with new cards released, they would streamline into the competitive scene, and soon be used by even the lowliest players.

The first King and the Creator, making a world-changing creation. That alone would mean people would try it out.

Synchro Monsters. Combining the future with the now. The waves of infinite strength meeting that of eternal wisdom.

He would reveal this to the world, watching intently, when he dueled the winner of his tournament. The Kaiba Crop International Battle Royal. Duelists from every nation, ready to defeat him and other international stars with cards and decks they thought could be top. How wrong they were. The winner, already crowned King of the KCIBR, would have the illustrious opporunity to duel Kaiba with his new deck. The deck with a hidden power.

Seto Kaiba looked down again, having been focused on the sea, stretching out to the horizon. He kept smiling, and watched as the gates to his newly furnished Kaiba Dome opened, and duelists and spectators poured in. The stands were lined with little dots of people.

Fools. He thought. They won't know what'll hit 'em.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

At the Domino City Airport, Jaden Yuki was caught up in getting his rickety D-Wheel past Security. Apparnetly a peice of equipment this cheap was against the law or something. He only got it to get by, plus it beat walking. Riding Duels were damn fun, too!

"Jeez!" He stored his bag in a side compartment, and revved the gurgling engine. These things were the peak of technology, but Jaden was barely able to buy one when they became popular.

"Gonna be late, gonna be laaaate..." It sped onto the road. There were fireworks launching into the air, radiant with the sun. The new Kaiba Dome, even without a pearly roof, sparkled on the coast. That would help him find his way.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

Szyszlo waited for the crowd to clear, and pulled his hood over his uncovered eye. It was a little too bright for his tastes. He looked up to the blimp, and the large "KC" logo on its side. There was a subtle hum emitting from it, mixing with the loud roar of people. He pulled out a rectangular, handheld device from his cloak, and clicked it on. A flat, holographic screen extended out from the small glass one on the device. One of the first models of a new hologram technology. Previously only used for duel monsters, the budding Sector Security was applying it to everyday uses.

He scowled at the flickering images and wondered why it was wasted on card games in the first place. Not that he approved that humans made it this far in the first place.

Anyway, the screen did indeed indictate that Kaiba was coasting along in that blimp, scanning for anything suspicious or exciting. The man was older, and knew he wouldn't find much. Yugi was busy, and no longer dueled at such a level. Even if he came, he would only duel for fun, or maybe a special event match if he was in a good mood. It wasn't that the King of Games was vain, but he was bored.

Seto Kaiba, on the other hand, was reveling in his increasing age. Oh, yes. He teamed up with the aging Pegasus to increase the profits of Kaiba Corp and further the evolution of the duel. Disgusting. That would need to cease. Synchro Monsters. Never. Ever. He was the first of his kind stationed here and he would make it so no more would ever need to come down. Szyszlo planned to infiltrate this tournament, make it all the way to the top- to the heavily advertised "Duel Monsters Revolution! Deciding Match with Seto Kaiba!" -and he would defeat Kaiba single-handedly. He would defeat him by destroying his new Synchro power. The shame would crush him and his hopes of changing the game.

If worst comes to worst, he'll just kill him. This is what he had access to.

Szyszlo had connections with Sector Security. Yliaster had been around for a while. Quite a while.

Fools. He thought. They'll never know what is going to hit them.

Infinite oppression.

A young man of about 19 had just come out of the airport. He had dark colored hair and wore a grey jacket and a strange device on his left arm. His name is Nigel Applecobb, born and raised in England.

"Wow!!" Nigel said in a British accent. "So this is the city of Domino. Looks like a quaint little burg to me" while looking around with a smile. "There's so much energy in the air. It's kinda tingly. This sorta reminds me of my last tournament all those years ago" He said before having a flashback about those times. He quickly snaps out of it and sees a youth in a red blazer speeding to the Kaiba Dome. He then said "Time to make a comeback" while walking sort of lazily to the stadium because of the jet-lag.

"Yes sir, all of the money is in the accounts." Kain said, "I'll get there as soon as I can."

He touched the wide screen of the Blackberry which ended the call. "Alyssa, is the jet ready?" He asked his secretary. Kain turned on his heels to face his brunette secretary who stared at him intensely through round, black rimmed reading glasses. She nodded her head and pointed to a suitcase by the door to his large office.

The time was coming for him to take his place as the total package. A more than successful businessman and a top duelist. He already did that in Blackpool, but now was his chance to take the world by storm. "This Psychic deck has gotten me through some many obstacles, and now it will get me to the top of the duel world."

Kain got up and put on his black blazer then his was on his way to his jet in order to compete in the Kaiba Corp. International Battle Royal!

A girl leaned against the stadium under the dark shadows of the Kaiba Dome. Her unseen green eyes watching as duelists passed by... It almost made her life how many had come back into the business just to try and make a comeback. Personally she had never had any respect for elders. They should just give up and realize that the new generation does not need their worthless appearances... There was only one duelist that anybody bothered to show up for despite the famous, Kaiba. That was of course, Yugi. His name was famous among duelists. She could not count how many duelists referred to him as their idol. This young woman? She had no idol in the card game which seemingly took up so many lives around the world. Though once upon a time she had once praised the creator of the whole entire game, her uncle, Maxamillion Pegasus...

I wonder how that bastard is doing...

A smirk hit her lips at that, the only part of her face except for her nose and the slight untied strand of her blonde hair, visible.

I wonder how he shall feel... seeing me upon that stage...then again, I did not come here to prove myself.

Riyoka Kami. That was the name of the girl who now stood up from her leaning position upon the dome. Within the world, to many she was well known. Though not many had ever seen her nor her face. Of course, that was only a great benefit on her part. To speak truthfully, she was not know fully for her dueling skills but of course, her tendency to be hired by all the wrong people. Perhaps that is why people dread to hear her name most of the time...Of course, she had never been caught yet though. Otherwise she would not been here. It was funny really, how closely she would probably apparently be 'watched' in case she once again got in trouble.

Who knew how many people wanted a little help taking their enemies down...the number was...unlimited. Sure, many of the people who hired her where within much more larger and dramatic situations. But she knew, that everyone inside had someone they would rather live without. After all, it was just common nature. Finally moving, Riyoka started to make her way inside the dome. She could feel the stares upon her from the more...brighter duelists...but even so, to her it was only ordinary...

As she looked up, taking glance of the things around her, she could not help but notice the figure of Maxamillion Pegasus sitting within one of the best seats in the house. Sipping upon red wine.

Maybe this time you will find me worthy of your training, you insane old man...

Television sets all over Domino City were playing advertisements of the new Kaiba Corporation Tournament in heavy rotation. This was also the same scene in Almondo's Cafe, a popular hangout located in the shopping district wherein a peculiar man wearing a red tracksuit had been loitering in since the early morning. He was busy fiddling with Duel Monster cards with a half eaten sandwich and three empty cups filled with coffee residue pushed away to the corner of one the cafe tables. Many passersby who noticed him concluded that he's just one out of thousands of dreamers who think they can beat Seto Kaiba, let alone reach the finals.

Of course, this man already knew what it was like to reach the finals of a Duel Monsters tournament but that was during a time before the rumors of D-Wheels even started to float around the prominent fan sites, such as the likes of YGOInsider and DuelTube. He was in the cafe dueling himself with two decks though since, unlike riding a bike, people can forget how to duel and this man was getting rusty, almost at the point that he started forgetting advanced strategies he learned at the pro circuit. Yes, he once made a living out of playing card games.

The waitress who had been attending to his orders was started to get irritated by him. Not because he hasn't ordered anything in a while but because he had been hogging a whole table for a good few hours now and had been driving away potential customers. And as we all know, lesser customers mean lesser income. This caused the waitress to call in the fry cook, who was an acquaintance of the duelist.

"Yo, don't you need to go somewhere? The TV's been saying that the tourney's gonna start in a short while, Akim."

Akim raised one of his eyebrows at the fry cook and shifted his eyes to the wall clock. Indeed, it was almost time. "Uhh, thanks for reminding me bro. Though, it is kind of a bitch having to walk all the way to the KC stadium... And since we're friends and all..."

The fry cook already knew what Akim was going to say next and decided to already take out the key to his D-Wheel from his pocket. Without saying anything else, Akim grabbed the key and swiftly went to the parking lot with a smirk on his face.

"You do know he didn't pay for that meal, right?" said the waitress. In fact, the fry cook did. He was already used to this routine as well. "Well, I have faith in him that he will one day repay every... You know what, screw it. He's gonna pay ten times the normal price once he comes back here."

The overlapping sounds of the huge crowd around him, were almost unbearable to the tall man as he stood with all the others infront of the gleaming Kaiba Dome. His red eyes seemed to catch from time to time, the blazing glare of the sun, that was set high above the huge gathering, only which would then force the tall silver haired man to send his gaze towards the ground. The tall man seemed to keep his gaze to the ground for quite a long time, as by the time he looked back up, the crowd had begun moving, dispersing from one whole collective, and now forming much smaller groups. Once he had raised his head back up, one of the man's red eyes seemed to peek around the long strands of silver hair, that accidentally dropped over his face, concealing most of it.

Walking towards the large dome, to which most of the crowds seemed to be avoiding for the time being, Sleif navigated his way through the maze of groups. The soft sound of something metallic, and very heavy rustling under the huge black trench coat he was wearing, which in itself was a very strange sight, especially on such a bright day like this. Though even with the large dark layer of clothes, the man didn't even seem fazed by the sun. However, it could have been that this was the reason for his movement towards the dome, which was yielding a very nice large area of shade due to its massive height.

Reaching the last few crowds that were standing near the base of the steps, that led up to the dome, Sleif suddenly jerked slightly, as someone from one of the groups backed up a little and knocked into the tall man. "Hey! Watch where you're going!" The guy shouted to Sleif, soon realizing the height of the man he just bumped into, while also earning the stare of the single red eye almost shinning behind the mass of silver hair. While the boy looked up in horror at the giant he shouted at just recently, the sheer shock of what was to happen next would have been enough to cause him to collapse. Turning his whole body to the boy, the tall silver haired man gently brushed his hair out of his face, revealing his whole appearance, before then bowing in apology to the boy. Once he corrected his posture, infront of the completely frozen guy, the tall man turned and began to continue on his path, moving up the stairs and away from the guy, while the others within his tiny group rushed to him and bombarded him with questions about what just happened.

Finally arriving to the top of the flight of stairs, mirroring possibly something one may have seen somewhere before, the tall man closed his eyes briefly as the cold feeling of the colossal shade covered him. A small, very unnoticeable smile etched its way across his face, as the man could finally raise his gaze up into the air, without any resistance to the sun that continued to beam itself down onto most of the area. The huge blimp with the familiar Kaiba Corp logo, slowly and gently puttered along in the air, while the huge crowds below waited, waited for something to happen. The single, big moment, which would start everything off. The brief appearance of someone else within the shadows of the dome peaked Sleif's interest, his red eyes, one of which had become covered with his hair yet again, watched as the young woman turned and entered the huge dome, to which others were soon mimicking in haste. All of which except for Sleif, who once again turned and looked up towards the clear, blue ocean like sky, and the large blimp that continued to circle the area, like a vulture waiting for its first victim.

"C'mon, im gonna be late! Could you please end your turn so I can win?" Raymond was yelling at his opponent but it seemed like he couldn't hear because of loud cheering coming from the group of school kids surrounding the two.

"Armed Dragon Lv10 attack Gilford the Lightning and win the duel!" Said the teenager pointing at Raymond but looking away.

"You seem pretty confident." Raymond muttered while smiling. "I activate Mirror Force!" As the attacked neared Gilford the Lightning, a card behind it lifted up and a shield appeared in front of Raymond's Monster. It deflected the attack and bounced back at the guys monster and it was destroyed.

"You don't have any cards on your field, and your hand is empty so ill go now." Raymond pulled out a card from his deck and put it away in his hand. "Gilford the Lightning attack his Life Points and end this duel so I can go." His monster lunged at teenager and hit him which caused him to fall back and the numbers on his Duel Disk quickly depleted to zero.

"NO! LETS HAVE A REMATCH!" The teen yelled out at Raymond as he was on the floor.

"Maybe next time." Raymond turned around and bum rushed the crowd. "Great now I have like 10 Minutes to get there. Hopefully I can ride this thing there." Raymond went into the parking lot and grabbed the helmet that was in the Motorcycle. He put it on and placed his Duel Disk on the Motorcycle and quickly turned it on. "Alright, I can do this, I practiced so many times before." He sped out of the parking lot and onto the road, moving uneasily. He managed to regain his balance after almost falling a couple of times and then went faster as he headed to the stadium.

Raymond had the D-Wheel for a couple months now but he wasn't really used to riding it since he recently turned 16 and it wasn't easy. He spent the last couple of years trying to get money for one by doing odd jobs, now he finally had one but they were so expensive and new to the world that he didn't want to mess it up or anything. He also didn't duel using it which is weird since that is one of there main purposes for existing.

He went through traffic and crowds of people who walked in the street to get to the stadium, he then heard fireworks and saw a blimp in the air with the KC logo on it.

"Alright almost there." He sped through corner streets trying to get there and almost fell but he made it in time. He looked around and thought the crowd was in his way but he looked up and saw it was the stadium. "Oh...Iim finally here."

While all the huge crowds poured into the stadium, a young man with odd purple hair made his way away from the crowd toward an unnoticed door. By the door was his loyal pet raven who had found the door for him. This raven's owner was named Nevar Luxing, a champion duelist from America who was among the thousands drawn to Kaiba's impressive tournament.

Nevar promptly opened the door and found himself among the other duelists but in a more seluded, dark area away from most of the duelists. The only other duelist he saw near him was some girl leaning against the wall in black, but he shrugged her off for the moment.

Nevar made his way to his own dark area with his pet raven on his right leather shoulder pad. But just like everyone else he seemed the need to stare at the blimp, waiting for instructions on what he needed to do.

The next day, Kain's jet landed on the strip at the airport. The young man walked down the steps to find his black stretch limousine waiting for him. He looked to his right and saw the great number of people leaving planes. Most of them were obviously duelists that have been called to this tournament.

"I guess the festivities will be starting soon." Kain said, "No need for the limo....I'll be riding my Duel Runnerl."

A compartment in the back of the jet opened up and a Duel Runner slid down the door turned ramp. Kain climbed onto the bike and revved it up. The sound alerted everyone in the airport, you could tell because faces were pressed against the windows. Kain looked up at them in disgust....these leeches. Kain revved up his Duel Wheel ad sped off toward Kaiba Dome.

As Akim neared his destination, the amount of cars in front of him seemed to keep on increasing by a ridiculous amount. Traffic was pouring in from all directions towards the Kaiba Dome. Some of the drivers even started to get out of their cars and started walking towards the ceremony, which was already starting as indicated by the vivid fireworks painting themselves across the sky. Once he got to the parking lot and found a spot, Akim rushed to the main entrance soon after, only to find himself blocked by a sea of media reporters and Duel Monsters fanatics who were in quite a frenzy. On second thought, maybe he should have done his training near the Kaiba Dome so he could have avoided the crowd of people that carried the stench of sweat and cheeseburgers mixed in with a dash of Axe body spray. Quite repulsive really.

Alas, he had no other choice but to return to the parking lot. At least the festivities were quite interesting. The one thing that caught his full attention though was the giant blimp circling the sky above the stadium. He had read about a similar blimp which was used for the Battle City Tournament years before and wondered if this was the same one. He went to murmur about this to himself.

"Would be kinda interesting to duel twenty thousand feet above the ground... Yeah, the sky's the limit for my return to the dueling circuit!"

Kaiba loomed over the thousands of people, and checked the time on his Kaiba Corp HoloVid phone. The screen enlarged into the empty space on front of it, and flickered. The technology was experimental, but he liked it. It was about few inches tall, silver, with a Blue-Eyes image on the back. Things were going right on track, though. Forty minutes to landing, when the prime announcement would come out, and his show would begin. Kaiba looked back to a hulking, blanketed figure, sitting on a platform, and smirked. He tugged his collar to his mouth, and spoke into a small transmitter.

"Ushio, prepare for my landing. Clear the runways and central stadium."

"Yes Mr. Kaiba."

He was loyal, and Kaiba liked that. Ushio was Security officer working closely with the Battle Royal. He would most likely do the job well, and if not, well, he's love to improvise.

Jaden smiled, his D-Wheel speeding along the edge of the pier, leading up to the refurnished Kaiba Dome. There were occassional popping sounds from the engine, but it didn't both him.

He had changed very little over the years. He still had a childish grin and dsposition, and regarded Duel Monsters and something for fun. His old Osiris dorm jacket had been converted into a crimson blazer, stitched up heavily and ragged, but almost impressive in that light. His D-Wheel looks just as old and overused. Actually, it was just an early, hardly-tested model.

Patting his pocket, checking for his invitation, Jaden saw the garage for the contestants looming ahead.

Szyszlo stood, like a rock, in one of the observation decks. This particular one was above most of the stands, and lined with monitors designed to give full coverage of a duel for the higher-paying attendants. He had bought this booth all for himself.

The infinity symbol on his metal eyepatch glowed eriely. He pulled his hood back of his head so that it would not impede his vision; Szyszlo was peering right up to the blimp. There was a better view of the cockpit from here, and the device on his eye allowed him to zoom in on one of the windows. Kaiba was definetely up there. He would be seeing a lot more of him the next few days.

As Nigel walked to the arena, his jet-lag seemed to wear off a little. He followed the fireworks to the arena. He looks up and sees the river of cars crowding the parking lot, the blimp showing video of the arena in various angles, the sort of adrenaline in the air.

"Oh man, I can't believe I'm here!" He shouted while punching the air. He then hears his stomach rumbling. He checks his cellphone for the time and sees that he has more than half an hour before the tournament begins. He walks into the arena and to the vendor. He buys a hot dog and scarfs it down. He looks at his cell again and has half an hour before the tourny. He walks into the stands and shuffles the deck he's been improving on since he first got into Duel Monsters. With each passing thought he moved his cards.

You can do this. You've been practicing for years for this moment. He thought. You won't break down like last ti... He thought before passing out in his seat from the jeg-lag.

He wakes up 15 minutes later with his deck in his hand. He shuffles his deck for a little bit, then slams his deck into his duel disk and steps down into the arena waiting for the destined time.

The entire arena seemed to be steadily filling, with the mass of duelists that were called from the world over. Sitting in one of the densely packed stands, Sleif sat with his arms crossed over each other, while his eyes slowly examined the huge arena. Even the balconies, to which only those who could pay and were considered important enough owned, were slowly filled with those who belonged there. With the constantly surge of people filling the stands, both duelists and those of the public who paid to be here, the knowing rush of awaiting duels, to which all duelists feel at some point, began to run its course through everyone there.

The waiting, the planning, the sizing up of competition, these were thoughts that most people would be going through, especially with that of such a major competition on the eve of beginning. Though for Sleif, whatever he was thinking would have been such a mystery, especially to those who would have heard about him, and the way he duels of gone. His red eyes looked up towards the large opening of the dome, the entrance to which the large blimp that was noticed outside would most likely dock, and also possibly start the tournament that would take over the entire city. Closing his eyes as he laid back in his seat, Sleif simply decided to wait until everything begins, which by the sense that was felt within the air, wouldn't be too far away.

Raymond looked around as he went to put his D-Wheel away, not many people had one even though they have been out for a couple of years. He put it away in a garage and popped out his Duel Disk and left the garage.

After that he quickly checked his pockets for the invitation.

"I know its in here somewh- There it is." He pulled out the invitation and quickly walked over to the booth and handed the woman his invitation. She read it and then pointed to where he was supposed to go and he walked into the giant stadium.

"I can't believe Kaiba invited me to this Tournament! He's supposed to reveal a new way of dueling and he invited me, some normal school kid who is good at dueling. This is awesome." He looked around at the giant stadium and walked up the stairs up to the bleachers. "I wonder if Yugi Muto or Joey Wheeler are gonna compete?"

Kain finally rounded that final corner that lead to the garage where all of the Duel Runners were to be placed. He parked it, removed the key and his duel disk, then went on his way to the Kaiba Dome. The walk appeared to be a long one because of the massive amount of people that were filling up the Kaiba Dome. "Too much clutter in here with these filthy people." Kain said as he pulled out some cash to play for a private box.

He walked to his box alone, the way he liked it. As he watched the crowd begin to simmer down, he made a phone call. "I need my card case to fix up my deck" He said. Once more Kain looked at the blimp that still circled the stadium.

"It's almost time...who will make the first move?"

Running as fast as she could in her violet platform boots, a girl dressed in a pink lolita outfit ran through the streets, her strawberry blonde ponytail whizzing behind her as she slipped past people and weaved through the crowd. The amateur duelist, while looking far from one, finally stopped at a corner, catching her breath as she waited for the light to change. She closed her amber eyes for a second as she tried to relax, only to start running again once the light had changed. Her duel disk and messenger bag bounced off her back as she ran, giving someone the impression that she was going to school. No one would guess that she was on her way to Seto Kaiba's Tournament, with the invitation placed in the front pocket of her bag.

Yes, Sayuri Aisuru was well on her way.

After showing her invitation to the security guard, Sayuri hopped up the steps, looing around curiously at the other duelists--at least, those that were there. With a small sigh, she took a seat in the corner of the room, letting herself breathe after all that hard running.

People, having filed into the stands, watched as the blimp descended on the stadium. There was one, enormous raised stage in the middle of the Kaiba Dome; a few courts laid out, side by side, for the usual type of standing duel. It was unknown to the audience and players that the new Dome would also be able t hold Riding Duels. Just impractical in theory, especially for a tournament with such a wide array of players from around the world. Not to mention there was no existing track made exclusively for Riding Duels, so the tracks lining the Dome, with thick glass sides, looked as though they were just for aesthetics. A few would catch on in the proceeding moments.

Finally, the cockpit made contact with a platform placed especially for the landing. There was a thump, and the propeller at one end of the behemoth slowed to a stop. There was silence for what seemed like forever, but the length would be forgotten when the hatchway at the back of the cockpit lowered.

Cue fog.

A cloudy mist bellowed from the hatch, creating a narrow path that only Kaiba could see from here. Everything was going just as scheduled. He would ride out and...

Best not get ahead of myself. He thought. This would have to go correctly first.

His grip on the handlebars tightened, and his right heel pressed down. A low growl escalated to a roar in less than a second, and the wheels screeched on the unscarred, metal floor. Kaiba felt the engine come to life under him, the new Momentum energy source making his hands vibrate. His eyes darted to the screen at his lap, and to a couple more small monitors at eye level. Everything was go. He released the brake, pressing his heel further, and launched outside.

Adrenaline rushed, the audience, already in wonderment from the noise, cheered as the wind tunnel generated blew the fog away; his trail was erased. Seto Kaiba's custom-made D-Wheel was revealed to the world. It was the newest model; so new that there was not a dot of speculation on the internet or media. The energy source it used, Momentum, was what was being researched to power cities. He would be the one to showcase it. It would make him more famous and rich than he could ever imagine.

The D-Wheel looked like one would expect from the glorious Seto Kaiba. He sat upon a lavish, leather seat, with a wide interface at his lap. It was connected to his duel disk and the very core of the D-Wheel. It was sleek, and silver, and had two slender wings protruding up and behind him. The long neck, of the dragon the D-Wheel resembled, extended forward defiantly, with shimmering teeth and eyes. The tail curled behind him, allowing Kaiba to lean back as he dueled. He could observe the monitors that showed the duel over his disk, and those that informed him of his D-Wheel condition at eye level.

And this acting, roaring model of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon soared off the stage, shocking those who watched. Surely he was insane, and this beast was the results of his craziness.

But no, Kaiba's D-Wheel angled itself appropriately mid-air, and made contact with the ground in a loud clamor of burning rubber against concrete. People gasped when he made his perfect landing, speeding around a curve. They then gasped more upon the realization that the focal point of the entire stadium was that it was one huge, oval-shaped Riding Duel track. His eyes flicked around, checking the engine and the balance systems. All seemed to check out. He revved up the D-Wheel and sped along.

It was almost unbelievable to see the former King, and creator of so many Duel Monsters technologies, to be using one himself, very much like how he was the first to use his Duel Disk in a duel. It was symbolic, in a way. Kaiba made half a lap before putting the next part of the show into action, right when the first person began to realize that it was not all that exciting just to watch someone go in circles, Seto Kaiba or not.

Kaiba drew the first three cards of his deck all at ones, crossing an arm over to his deck holder. He knew what those cards were, and slapped them all to their respective places on the duel disk. Colorful circuits pulsated, and sent signals all the way through the D-Wheel, to its very core. There, the code f the cards were transmitted to the hologram display systems. In a flash of blinding light, three very lifelike Blue-Eyes White Dragons came into existence, flapping their wings and swiping at the air. The appearance of the signature monsters drove the crowd wild.

But why stop there?

Kaiba, coming to the opposite end of the track, pulled into the stretch of course that would be used for duelists going in for a pit stop. Conveniently it led up to the main stage, where a lone podium and microphone sat. It was flat and white, and behind a huge set of curtains sat a screen built to display the brackets for the tournaments. Kaiba aspired to make the display more advanced, and had a sphere shape in mind. But that was for later, once he raked in all the money from admission and advertisers and had an upper hand in negotiations. He saw the end of the stretch ending, where there was a small fueling station. Normally, he would just drive up to one part of the track and walk over, but screw that, he was goddamned Seto Kaiba. He was too good for that.

Kaiba pressed down on the pedal more than he ever had in training, and came up to the glass wall of the course. The whole thing was like an incomplete tub, so it was easy with enough force and speed. Kaiba felt himself almost fall out of his seat as he gained momentum, and flew off the track, spinning, rotating in the air, before sticking the landing on the stage. More burnt rubber, except that this time he could smell it, since his D-Wheel stopped right next to the elongated skid marks. Sure, his supervisors would give him hell for the stunt, as it pretty much endangered his life, but these people needed to be entertained. That was the key here, there always needed to be something new to hook the masses in. There needed to be evolution.

He placed his white, Blue-Eyes head-shaped helmet to his seat, and went to the microphone. The first breath he took before speaking was drawn-out, and could be heard on the large, sensitive speakers.

Raymond patiently waited for the Tournament to start and as he did, the stadium began to fill up with crowds of people. It got to noisy but Raymond didn't mind and after a while he began to hear the roar of an engine fill up the Stadium.

"It must be Seto Kaiba, he loves to make a grand entrance." Thought Raymond. A mist filled the stadium and after a bit a white D-Wheel appeared, it was in the shape of a Blue-Eyes White Dragon. "Of course he would want a Blue-Eyes D-Wheel, but its pretty vicious so I can't complain." Seto Kaiba then took a lap around the field but he mixed it up by summoning his three Blue-Eyes, Raiden and the crowd were awed by it.

He then rode on the glass and flew in a spinning motion to the stage. "Dang!" Raiden gave a small smile and Kaiba walked up to the mic.

Nevar was impressed by Kaiba's performance, but he knew it wasn't what he came for. He found what he was looking for the moment he entered. Pegasus. He saw him sitting in his extra fancy booth clapping for Kaiba's tricks, pathetic. It sicked him to see the mighty Pegasus reduced to this.

Nevar's attention was then brought back to the stadium where he noticed all the other duelists cheering the dare devil as he walked onto the stadge. Finally the moement he had been waiting for for most of his life. A chance to rise to the top and maybe even face Pegasus himself. But first to make himself, a somebody.
