Nigel looked semi-impressed as Kaiba zoomed around the arena on his personalized D-Wheel shaped like his signature monster, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. During this, he looks at the other competitors and ranks them mentally based on their appearance. At the end of the run, he said "Show off" to himself with a smile.

Everyone cheered. The entire world was on the edge of their seats, just excited to hear his voice.

"You, duelists, from around the globe, have been selected to participate in what will go down in history! The largest Duel Monsters tournament held ever!"

The cheering could be heard from miles away. If Jaden had been anymore late, he sure would have known.

"In one hour, all of those invited will have found their way there-" Kaiba pointed to the entrance, or, more specifically, to the raised floor, with a large room meant for meetings and even duels. "And present their invitations. They will then be escorted to this very stage, where the pairings-" He pointed, again, this time reeling his finger to the large, dominated curtains behind him. It concealed the very tall and wide board with a tournament bracket.

Kaiba smiled, and lowered his voice ominously.

"And of course, the very surprised that has been alluded to, which I'm sure you are all aware of." People hushed to a whisper, and most speaking ceased. some still spoke, angering those who were waiting to hear this history-changing announcement. They themselves were shunned though, since you were a loser if you were that hopeful that the great Seto Kaiba were to divulge his new project then and there.

"...The winner of this very tournament will have the very elusive opportunity to also duel me!"

More hushed tones. Was this really his big news?

"However. I will be using, myself, the very revolutionary element in my own deck." He pointed to his D-Wheel, where his deck and Blue-Eyes still remained. "In only a matter of days you will see what is held in my own deck at this very moment!"

There was more awe. The great "revolution" was there, and not held up in a vault. Szyszlo's eyes widened a little. The corner of his mouth jutted, and he stared at the wretched machine. Kaiba lowered his arms, as he had been using them for effect alongside his words.

"I leave you with that, challengers. Good luck to you. You've got your countries, you hometowns...the very honor of your family on the line. Don't let us all down!" His voice boomed loudly as he finished, leaving himself open for the biggest applause he had ever heard. Kaiba felt as though he heard the clapping of millions watching him on television sets too. He walked back to his D-Wheel, and rode off, disappearing into the hanger.

Leaning on one wall, Jaden had listened with enthusiasm. He punched the air. He would be the one to win, and get all the way to the top, and defeat Kaiba and his new power. If he could win, then he could rise above that power, and maybe come to own it! What if Kaiba awarded him with this new card or whatever it was?

In his private box, Szyszlo sneered. Kaiba had made too much of an impact in his little performance. He needed to be eliminated before this tournament was over.

((Stupid glitchy post is over guys <3))

Nigel listened to every word that Kaiba said. A chance to duel him with a new element of dueling huh? He thought while clapping. "Sounds like fun!" He said with a smile.

He scans the arena and sees the guy from the airport. He seems like a nice guy. I hope I get to duel him Nigel thought. He then goes to the room that Kaiba pointed to, flashes his invitation, and enters the building.

He looks around and sees multiple gold-colored couches, a kitchen, posters advertising past duels, a few coffee tables, a flatscreeen TV, and doors leading to other rooms. He jumps and lays on one of the couches. He lets out a huge sigh sounding extremely relaxed.

Since most of the good seats were already taken by the time Akim had gotten inside of the stadium, he chose to stand on the aisle near the main stage. No way he was gonna opt to sit at the back. An event this historic is best witnessed up close. Moments after getting near the stage, the ever impressive Seto Kaiba had arrived and started to excite the crowd with a spectacle using his custom made D-Wheel. Akim, too, was gazing at how awesome Seto Kaiba was at the time.

After a few moments, Seto started to talk and announced that the tournament was starting. Roars from the crowd were deafening but this didn't bother Akim. In fact, Akim felt a chill running down his spine. Even the Pro Circuit's most prestigious duel festival would seem half baked when compared to the magnitude of this event. This was more than a chance to regain his old reputation. This tournament was a chance to be considered top tier if he won and be compared to the likes of Yugi Muto or Jaden Yuuki. Not to mention that it involved a new element that no one has truly mastered yet.

With the exception of Seto Kaiba, of course. That was the last thought crossing Akim's mind before Seto himself announced that the invited duelists should go to the room and be recognized as official entrants. Since he was already on the aisle, Akim rushed to the room. There, he took out his invitation which was in a very bad form. There were cuts on the edges and some of the ink on his invitation was murky. Fortunately, the person verifying the invitations decided to let him enter, albeit after a sigh and shook of his head.

The room itself was of high class. The furniture, the ambiance, even the complimentary water. Akim spotted some of the duelists were making themselves comfortable. With that, he took to one of the couches and decided to just relax. Beside Akim was a young lad who seemed to be quite cheerful and was also doing the same as he was.

"Oh, hello there." said Akim, not wanting to go through a phase of awkward silence.

As expected, Kaiba's grand entrance would be over the top. Besides, his arrogance wouldn't let him do anything less than that. The Blue Eyes white dragon D- Wheel was also expected once you could hear the roaring engine through the fog. After all, it was his favorite card. He then began this great speech which ended with him leaving on his D Wheel. Everyone then poured out into a room that he had just noticed.

"Kaiba, your time is coming to an end. Whether it be by my hand or someone elses...you are done." Kain said, "Now to find that contact that I was told about."

Nevar slowly made his way toward the building that Kaiba had pointed out. He flashed his invitation to the Gaurd and made his way inside with the gaurd glaring at his back. Nevar guessed it had to do with letting his Raven in too, but he didn't care.

After examining the room, Nevar made his way to a chair all by itself next to a window. His Raven perched itself on the side of the window as Nevar sat upright in the chair, taking in his oppenents. It seemed Kaiba didn't waste any time on who to pick for his grand tournament. From the crowds Nevar spotted several washed up champions such as Rex Raptor, Wevil Underwood, Mako the Fisherman and Mai Valentine herself.

"Yes," He said to himself in a low, cold voice, "These duelists will be perfect stairs to help me to the top."

Sleif soon found himself standing in a line, just like all the other duelists that had formed in similar versions all around him, each one heading towards the same place. Kaiba's grand entrance no more then a couple of minutes ago, was obviously still quite the talk among everyone not only within the lines, but throughout the entire dome itself. Though he didn't quite display it unlike the other duelists who chatted and gossiped with great enthusiasm, Sleif preferred to contemplate on what he had just seen, while moving along with the others, getting closer to the end.

A completely new way of dueling. It would revolutionize the way duels in general were not only played, but displayed to an audience. Such a thing would bring excitement back to those days when duels evolved to holographic level. So why, if such a thing sounded like a step in the right direction for the future of dueling, did Sleif have an uneasy feeling about it.

The tall duelists attention was suddenly caught, as he found himself standing infront of one of the many security that were stationed all around. Fishing his hand into the confines of his long coat, Sleif soon found his invitation, showing it to the large security man, who proceeded to check it over, just like he had done with so many others. As both tall men stood in complete silence for several seconds, the large security man soon returned the invitation to Sleif, who briefly nodded and walked past the man, arriving inside the large building to which everyone, who had just gone through the same process, gathered.

The room was of a high quality to which Sleif had not seen since he was much younger. Faded past memories replayed themselves within his mind, before the tall duelist violently pushed them aside as he cleared his mind and made his way towards an empty arm chair, which seemed to be as big as himself. Upon taking the comfortable seat, a waitress, one of many who were quickly darting around the large room, stopped and politely offered Sleif a drink. The tall man gently took one of many long thin glass from her tray, before smiling a little and nodded as he simply replied with a thank you, taking a small sip and waiting for what news that was awaiting for them all.

It was almost unbelievable to see the former King, and creator of so many Duel Monsters technologies, to be using one himself, very much like how he was the first to use his Duel Disk in a duel. It was symbolic, in a way.

Looking towards the stadium at where the infamous Kaiba had just made such a stunt, Kima did not seem to be the bit surprised nor impressed. No gasp escaping her lips. Then again, she had been raised with the frequent visits of Pegasus. Often watching her brothers duel with their 'dearest uncle'. It was only natural that hardly anything surprised her within the world of dueling these days.

These fools...to be impressed by a mere d-wheels trick..

"...The winner of this very tournament will have the very elusive opportunity to also duel me!"

Riyoka felt a soft laugh escape her lips. Her position not noticing the look she got from trainers near her.

Yes...because we haven't been given that opportunity before...

"However. I will be using, myself, the very revolutionary element in my own deck." He pointed to his D-Wheel, where his deck and Blue-Eyes still remained. "In only a matter of days you will see what is held in my own deck at this very moment!"

Yay....

Another sarcastic thought placed within her mind as she rolled her eyes.

"I leave you with that, challengers. Good luck to you. You've got your countries, you hometowns...the very honor of your family on the line. Don't let us all down!"

Oh...because you really have so much expectations within us...

Riyoka knew these words where pure crap. He merely wanted to become the new champion, to show off, yet again, his power to the world. What a pointless mission. She had no one's honor to behold but herself. Or perhaps, the media would soak up the new story when she planned on telling people who she was within her last duel. Of course, it was merely to be a pain towards her family. She had always liked to cause trouble.

Moving from her position within the hall, Kima made her way towards the line of duelists which where looking for their rooms. It seemed that a type of living room area for the many opponents was the first room within their living quarters.

"Oh, hello there."

Riyoka watched as the conversation began. It was quite foolish for the duelists here to think they would make 'friends' in this battle. After all, everyone was a enemy...

"Hi, I'm Nigel! What's your name?"

His accent was clearly English as he spoke those words. It wasn't much of a surprise to meet someone from so far away to join this tournament. After hearing Nigel's question, Akim took out his decks and placed them on the glass table in front of the couch.

"Akim Rozenkruz. But perhaps you would know me better by my nicknames from the Pro Circuit, namely 'The Aegean of Ice' or 'Blazing Ocean'." Akim paused for a while. He began to highly doubt anyone would remember those names but it was already too late to take it back. After a moment, Akim began to open his lips once again and continue the conversation.

"Also, you wouldn't mind if I use the table in front of us all to myself, would you? I'm gonna reconstruct my deck so it would only take a few minutes."

Monitors began to flash on, sounds and flashing lights began to come into play. there whle room was coming to life. The tournament was almost ready to begin. Far out, on the stage at the other end of the stadium, security guards came to the large curtains. Kaiba followed them, taking his place at the podium. The players however, would do otherwise. Ushio, the officer in charge, signaled the players who had finished registration.

"All of you will come to the stage basement. If you will folow this tunnel, a guide will help you to your spots. Please be prompt." Ushio had told them this, because under the stage were a series of platforms. Each one of these would rise up, introducing the players to the world in a glorified fashion.

Jaden had just sit down, and sighed, huffinf as he bobbed back up to stand. If he didn't duel first, he could probably take a nap.

Szyszlo made sure he was the last to go.

Hearing the announcement, Akim raised one his eyebrows at the security guard, let out a sigh, and placed his decks back in his pockets. Slowly, Akim stood up and started walking towards the tunnel leading to the stage basement. Waiting for the duelists in the tunnel was a neatly dressed attendant who had a sweet smile on her face. She bowed to the duelists and started to guide them to the destination.

"Well, looks like you'll have to wait for the tournament to see what kind of cards I'm packing. Who knows, might even duel you later on. Heck, might even be earlier on." he said as he looked back at Nigel. The last line was a lame gesture for Akim but it was appropriate to say. He thought that it would be quite rude not to return the enthusiasm displayed by Nigel, even though he only said about six words during the conversation.

As Akim continued following the tour guide, he saw a very peculiar duelist at the back of the line. It might've been the white robes or some other feature of his clothing but this duelist stood out from the crowd. Well, hardly since most of the other duelists had really weird clothes.

Hmm... The chances of meeting that white robed duelist in the first round is pretty slim. I can feel an aura around him that just screams trouble. Akim thought to himself.

Ushio showed up and told them what to do. Nigel hops off the the rich-looking couch and proceeded through the tunnels. I wonder who I'm up against He thought. His thoughts are interrupted by Akim when he said "Well, looks like you'll have to wait for the tournament to see what kind of cards I'm packing. Who knows, might even duel you later on. Heck, might even be earlier on." "Here's hoping" Nigel said with a smile as he stepped onto his platform, waiting for Kaiba's announcement.

Nevar followed his guide while making sure to keep his distance from the other duelists. Vermin. He thought to himself. All these duelists were here for Seto Kaiba and hoping to have a chance at him. However, Nevar knew it was a trick and that at least 98% of the people here would not last two turns against Kaiba.

The tunnel stretched on for quite awhile and bored Nevar since his Raven, Guntram, didn't like tunnels. So to pass the time he examined the other duelists in the group. From what he heard from two of the louder duelists he could tell one was British and the other was the washed up champion Akim Rozenkruz. But before he could get more information, the guide showed Nevar and the other duelists their separate platforms.

Once Nevar walked onto his, a door closed swiftly behind him plunging him into total darkness except for the dim light above. Even from the bottom, Nevar could see Guntram flying above.

Kain has entered the room ad immediately turned to his left to see where the loud voice was coming from. By the accent he could tell that it was one of his countrymen, a disgrace was his first thought. Not long after that the festivities were stopped by a guide giving them some much needed information.

"All of you will come to the stage basement. If you will follow this tunnel, a guide will help you to your spots. Please be prompt."

Kain walked behind the guide through the tunnel and onto his spot. He looked around and found a guy in a white robe. "So the sent him...this should be interesting." He said then he smirked as a door closed on him.

A moment of rest was once again cut all too short for Sleif, as the tall duelist turned his head briefly towards the voice that called for all combatants to follow for the opening of the tournament. Finishing the cool refreshing drink and placing the elegantly long thin glass on the table, Sleif stood up, easily towering above most, if not all of the duelists there, his gaze catching that of the white robed person, who seemed to have been waiting for some reason before moving. The walkway took a steep downwards angle at a certain point after everyone left the room, with the lack of light causing the darkness to take almost complete control over the entire area.

However, once the duelists had reached the destination they were being led to, small glimmers of light could be seen shinning down from various spots within the room. One by one, each duelist was brought to one of these lights, and soon it came to Sleif's own turn. Walking with one of the people who had brought them down, and who seemed to be in charge of placing everyone in their rightful spots, Sleif was soon brought to his own little circle of light. Standing there as nearly all of the duelists were being sorted, the small flicker of light within the room, was more then enough for Sleif to notice the entrance of the white robed person. Hanging back to the very end of the line, the mysterious robed duelist obviously choose to do so intentionally, which while it might have seemed quite ordinary or unimportant to most people, seemed to intrigue the tall Sleif even more.

The crowd roared even more, as the circlular platforms hummed and hissed and began to raise, gears chruning underneath the duelists. The all stumbled as the platforms shook, gaining a few feet at hatchways slowly opened above them. Light poured in from the bright stadium, making them all blink as their pupils dilated, some shying from the people. The whole world had their eyes on the competitors, including Kaiba, who stood at the microphone once again. His D-Wheel was nearby on the track, and he smiled wryly.

"Duelists! Here, you will find out who you will be playing in the tournament." He motioned to the curtains, and slowly they were drawn back by electronic motors. A large tournament match up tree was made in bold lines behind it. The duelists turned to see who they would be playing, eagerly, some feeling more confident than others.

Two pools divided sixteen players.

Raymond Ramirez vs Kain Davis
Sayuri Aisuru vs Sleif Destati
Akim Rozenkruz vs Nigel Applecobb
Tsunari Yaroi vs Stephen Keith

Nevar Luxing vs Riyoka Kami
Mai Valentine vs Chazz Princeton
Jaden Yuki vs Weevil Underwood
Szyszlo Vargel vs Rex Raptor

"Due to our accomidations, three duels will take place at once, to christen our high-tech dueling fields!"

More cheering, as to be expected, but it began to fade into the background for those getting tired of Kaiba's attention-gathering.

"We may, in fact, even use our brand new Riding Duel circuit for those experienced in the new, popular art..."

And he went on. The duelists had their matchings, which is all they cared about. There would be one duel from each pool consecutively, with two to start things out.

That was the only part that Raymond cared about, he was eager to duel no matter who he was up against.

"This should be good." Thought Raymond.
