...For some reason I expect enough explosions to make a 90s action movie cry with joy.
Only tools need explosions to be cool.
Lol i'm so in this with Ubi and Orion and Kenny-Kun. Yosh-kun, you are so awesome. Now to make my super, over the top shounen with powers that match his rash and reckless attitude.

Spoiler ShowName// Eta Carinae
Nickname// Septimum or 7 by most of the facility.
Age// 20
Gender// Male
Faction// Section III?
Weapons// set's of throwing knives dosed with a powerful paralyzing poison.
Personality// He's calm and collected, with dry humor tossed in every once in a while. He's quite assertive and knows what he wants going over and beyond to achieve his goals. He has a strict mentality, often following rules or regulations or even some of his own personal rules.
Appearance//Standing at 6"3 he has long dark blue hair in a Chinese braid that reaches and light green eyes, and light brown skin. He is fairly muscular and toned and likes to keep his cloths simple with a black suit at almost all times, though he has a love tie's with intricate designs.
Evolution// Positive Feedback Zero- Eta's ability is the power to use others powers, however when he copies them the capabilities of the powers are doubled. To obtain another's powers he needs to come in physical contract with the person or from contact with blood or bodily fluids. However Eta can only memorize one power at a time. Due to the nature of his ability his body and mind are enchanted.
Bio// One of many babies abandoned that were scanned for compatibility, he had registered highly compatibility 005-MI-Z's genetic code. Of the second batch he was the seventh successful receiver of the genes. At first even though the scientist had confirmed he had the different brain functions that the other REV's did, they could not figure out what his power was. That is until he had a test and was paired with another REV, the two would acedently bump into each other at some point in the test and Septimum would use the same power as the other REV. Though tests would later confirm that his power was far stronger than the other REV in the training room. About a month later Septimum would use another power following the pattern of being more powerful then orginal user. A scientist Miranda Stream would theorize that he had the power to not only absorb others powers but also to increase the strength of the power. the scientist were ecstatic over Septimum's ability since they would confirm that even through just blood he could obtain a power, this would lead to them believing that he would be able to gain 005-MI-Z's "All's Fiction". However during the test Septimum failed to gain the " All''s Fiction", distraught the scientist would try different conditions to help Septimum absorb All's Fiction. Eventually most scientist would give up on Septimum and move on to different REV's however Miranda would still keep him close at hand. She in fact was the person who gave Septimum the real name of Eta Carinae, because Eta is the seventh letter in the greek alphabet and Eta Carinae is a binary star system. She felt that since his power relied on others he wasn't one star by himself he would always be with another.
Miranda would oversee his training, making sure he homed his skills in many subjects ranging from astrophysics to . His power required some previous knowledge to successfully use another's power. Like practically ever other REV he would revive militray training to home his combat skills, Miranda saw fit to train him in asian martial arts too alongside what normal training he got. At age 14 Miranda would die in what the other scientist called a" lab accident", Eta however did not take this as an accident and believed it to be the agency killing her off for some reason.
Now age 20 Eta is an efficient solider of the agency, intelligent and clever. He has been told that he will lead one of the teams to reclaim 005-MI-Z to bring him and All"s Fiction back to the agency's side.
Other// He has an extreme for fondness for coffee often seen drinking it several times a day.

[Faction] – Negative
[Weapons] - N/A
[Personality] – Bryce is confident, but without being cocky. He never second-guesses himself, and makes it a priority to be informed and to be right. He seems to have a sadistic sense of humor at times, and respects only other Negatives. He can be just as manipulative as the next person. He's always cool and calm, making it almost impossible to put pressure on him, in or out of battle. It also seems like he's always one step ahead...
[Appearance] – http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs49/f/2009/226/0/0/OC_12_by_Emeraldus.png
[Evolution] – Breakdown - Bryce's powers stem around his ability to breakdown the matter around him
and reconstruct it into powerful armor around his body that can be created piece by piece or all together. He can also create various weapons. His powers are based upon breaking down the matter around him which he has limited control over so, he can end up using people or objects that he did not intend to breakdown. After breakdown, he mentally reconstructs the matter into constructs of his choosing. The more complex the weapon, or stronger the armor, the more matter he most breakdown. Because of his powers, he has been working upon the reconstruction of his body which he used only once in a dire situation which is what increased him to a superhumn level of strength, speed, and durability but, he can heal minor wounds by reconstructing his own matter though this has been said to be killing him and shortening his own lifespan because of his lack of training.
[Bio] – For five years of his life, Bryce watched his parents work in the facility that had once housed the child that could use All Fiction. He never knew what his parents had in store for him. He never knew just how twisted they could be toward their own child. Needing another subject for testing, they brought their own child. Bryce never knew what was going on until it was too late. The testing was brutal and his body felt different everyday that they experimented on him. What they were creating was more then just another Negative but instead a monster in the making.
It was years later that the first test subject came for him. Recruitment was the name of the game and Bryce wouldn't let this pass him by. As he made his escape, his parents interfered. Hatred stemmed from his body as he broke down their matter, killing them, and then changing them into a more suitable form of armor upon him arm. It felt good to annihilate the fools who had hurt him and now he would follow Patient 005-MI-Z as his right hand man. It was time before Bryce woud fully ready to take down the men that tormented him with these negatie powers.

[Personality]
Quiet and reserved until he is familiar, Kalden tends to shy from large crowds and finds comfort in silence of solitude. Growing up in a mountain village has made him cynical of the technological advancements of the city. He treats most gadgetry with the solemn reverence one holds for the unknown and is often set in his ways. Still, nothing can stay youth’s thirst for knowledge, and Kalden is ever eager to understand the unknown. Perhaps discovery is one of mining’s greatest thrills.
Slow to anger but like stone to forgive, Kalden forges loyalties and feuds that last lifetimes, but for the most part he leaves people in the gray zone in between and treats most with polite indifference.
Parkinson’s has left him with a mild inability to concentrate, though he keeps his condition to himself, expecting and wanting no sympathy from society. He knows not how he’ll change as the disease progresses, but he remains hopeful that he’ll find the cure before he finds out.

From the files of Doctor Thomas Xi…
An ability that operates at the subatomic level, fracturing (a term so coined by the young subject himself) has distinctly observable effects. It is a subset of nanokinesis, molecular manipulation, and induces macroscopic degeneration in target matter by intrinsic repulsive forces.
Through means yet unknown, the user alters the electron distribution function of an atom and its neighbor and leaves both heavily asymmetric. For an infinitesimal fraction of time, the positive forces of adjacent nuclei are unopposed unilaterally and thus generate atomic movement proportional to the charge and inversely proportional to the distance. Though the effects with only one atom pair is negligible, extended to a plane of matter of arbitrary length and width, the inherent forces of repulsion between like positive charges are strong enough to cut clean through matter. And with such velocities! Given a sufficiently large charge to mass ratio, fragments can and do repel each other with projectile nature. The user may find that this ability indeed has the potential to be more lethal than conventional firearms. When the propellant is intrinsic to the projectile, not a puff of gunpowder can generate a force that compares.
When fracturing is chaotic, with multiple planes of induced electron stability arranged in multiple directions (secondary to which is a negation of intra- and inter- molecular bonding, in effect instantly turning a portion of the solid into gas, proportional to the number of atoms involved) the result is quite extraordinary—spontaneous explosion.
However, Kalden seems rather restricted in his capabilities. It seems the neural pathways that trigger this ability are tied irrevocably to the motor cortex, and Kalden is powerless to invoke a fracture without hand movement. Oddly enough, casual observation notes that the movement of his fingers parallels the generated effect: an explosion is associated with a closed fist flashing into an open palm, while any sudden open hand movement precedes a classic fracture. fMRI scans show no difference in neural activity within the motor cortex between a ‘fracture’ hand movement and a normal hand movement. Perhaps the inhibition is purely psychological. In which case, this is an area of improvement for subsequent subjects.
It seems also that fracturing can only occur within a solid medium, which is a shame, as the theorized concussive forces born of ‘fractured’ airwaves will forever remain thus—theory. And it prevents the realization of an interesting objective for the subject: fracturing of a living target. Nevertheless, it is certain than Kalden will still remain useful on field, simply less lethal than I had intended.
[Bio]
Born to a mining family in a small settlement on the slopes of the Kunlun Mountains, marking the border between China and Tibet. Yet untouched by the technological revolution, given different circumstances the villagers may have lived their lives blissfully unaware of the affairs of the outside world. Theirs is a culture more fearful than accepting; and they made no secret of it on that day in May of 2095, when Doctor Thomas Xi stepped off the helicopter and into the newly reformed Orma village.
He was three years retired from the world of Luculent Science; and at the ripe age of sixty-five, the menial activities of senior leisure had no lasting appeal. A leading authority in the field of retrograde genetic biology, Xi had many patented procedures to his name; most notable, the process of DNA targeting. So intimate was his association with the advancements of Luculent Science that before his abrupt retirement, he was contracted for another five years. However, the incident with Patient 005-MI-Z in March 2093 proved too great a liability. He terminated the contract not a week after.
Two years he indulged in exquisite travels and food around the globe, but for all his modest riches, something was still amiss. A chance program on the local news that warned of mounting tensions between the Tibetans and the Chinese over the fate of the mines between the borders kindled a long forgotten interest, one to his motherland. Driven and competitive, the doctor still had game in him yet and he was bringing it to a new venture: metal mining. Although the task had started out as little more than menial entertainment, with more planning Xi soon saw the real returns the mining industry could reap. He invested a large sum of his personal funds in iron and copper and used the rest to fund a portable laboratory, in which he would create the seeds to his riches tenfold.
A year later he boarded a helicopter and embarked to Tibet to make his dreams the world’s reality.
Although time has since stolen the memory, this village gathering was the first time the then four-year-old Kalden saw Doctor Xi. It would be another two years before Doctor Xi saw Kalden.
The doctor brought with him great gifts which, as his flying beast, seemed descended from the heavens. A device with a chassis no thicker than the peel of two oranges, which opened like a clam to reveal a window showing pictures that moved and an arrow that darted left, right, center, in sync with the gestures of the doctor’s finger; on its lower surface was an odd combination of letters, buttons which when pressed commanded the window to display them. It seemed like a gateway to another universe. Countless others like it emerged from the hole in the metal beast’s side, too many for Kalden to understand.
Then the doctor started the augmentations. One by one children vanished, days at a time. They returned, physically unchanged but psychologically unrecognizable—loud voices muted, vibrant eyes bereft of vigor. The children returned to their former selves in time, but the adults seemed not to notice, and when asked directly, they told the children to put it out of their minds and never to question the judgment of an elder. It would be nine years before Kalden finally learned of the doctor’s charity. Doctor Xi believed that the mines were for its people, that commercialization was robbing the locals of their livelihood. All true; but what the villagers would never know was how much Xi stood to gain from his act of apparent benevolence and how their reward paled in comparison.
Soon the older children stopped going to school altogether; their new purpose was solely in the mines. Machinery disappeared, and the big name companies that had outcompeted the local miners with their sophisticated blasting technology were forced to cut their losses, as the incidence of lethal accidents spiked unexplainably—though the doctor knew full well his Revs were only following instruction.
As the rate of mining fell, prices of metals soared, and with them, Xi’s worth. However, he was not yet content: XI knew that prolonging the shortage would cause prices to further skyrocket, and so he continued amassing his army of child miners. With the single sample of ‘borrowed’ 005-MI-Z DNA, the doctor managed to induce evolution in more than ten children, thanks to the polymerase chain reaction, an outdated DNA amplification method developed in 1983, perfected in the late 1990s, and in its prime by the start of the new millennium. Lacking the support from the financial behemoths that funded Luculent Science, Doctor Xi needed to make do with more primitive measures, though these came at an expense. PCR was fallible and the copies were never identical to the template; and so began the outbreak of secondary mutations, unwanted alterations to the host’s biological integrity. Most were benign—mild alterations to protein structure, observable in the lab but invisible outside it—but occasionally, one wasn’t. This was another secret the doctor kept from the villagers.
September 2097, one month after Kalden celebrated his sixth birthday, marked the day he was infused with the DNA of Patient 005-MI-Z, the day Kalden became a Rev. Like the others before him, Kalden experienced no symptoms at the time of infusion, and this time of peace continued for another six years. Prospering under the protection of the superchildren, whom Doctor Xi had instructed to guard the mines from commercial intrusion, the villagers found their wealth growing, and Kalden and the younger children stood the most to gain. Education, nutrition and sanitation vastly improved in this time, and it seemed for a while that Orma was set for unlimited socioeconomic expansion. They alone controlled the supply of hematite—at least to parts of China and Tibet—and with it, the economy.
It became mandatory for school children to learn the physics of blasting, and so cultural heritage, history and the humanities dwindled from school syllabi to make room for an increasing volume of explosion physics, geo- physics and chemistry, and stratigraphy. Schools became training grounds for a generation of child miners—those with the powers to prevent cave-ins, or cause them.
It was in the mines that Kalden earned his nickname ‘The Detonator’, for his presence and efficiency at clearing paths through solid rock made chemical explosives redundant.
Kalden experienced his first symptoms twelve years after the alteration of his DNA. Often it is the case that disease presents after lag from exposure. Months before, Kalden developed a tremor in his right hand. Although he dismissed it initially and was determined to do so until his death, the ‘accident’ in the mines on August 14, 2109 forced him to take it to a higher authority.
The doctor ordered a coronal MRI scan of Kalden’s brain—the first portable MRI scanner was marketed in 2085; now the outdated models were available on the black market at a fraction of their original cost—and found atrophy of the substantia nigra, resting above the cerebellum. At the age of eighteen, Kalden was diagnosed with juvenile onset Parkinson’s disease. It appeared that the imprecise copy of 005-MI-Z’s DNA had induced a somatic missense mutation in the dardarin protein, found almost exclusively in cortical neurons, and its accumulation had been the cause of brain cell death.
Concerned more for his precious mining empire than Kalden himself, Doctor Xi told him about the Radical Evolutionary program, about Luculent Science, about the Negatives and the Pluses, and about the others like him that had been created in America; he told him to seek treatment there. A week of preparations, with the doctor’s assistance, Kalden departed Orma for the first time. Whether it was to find a Plus who could heal him or to permanently remove the powers or to find the rogue band of Negatives and seek solace there, Kalden Norbu’s business now lay in American territory.

Kalden carries with him at all times an assortment of screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches and nails from his days working the mines.
Spoiler Show[Name] – Minoru Izumi
[Title] - The Original
[Age] – 22
[Faction] - Negatives
[Gender] - Male
[Personality] –
Minoru is a relatively odd person. It is quite difficult to accurately depict his personality into mere words considering he is rather enigmatic when it comes to things like this. Despite being a leader of a group hell-bent over rewriting society as it is, Minoru isn’t necessarily what you would call “evil”; or better accurately put he doesn’t put off the appearance of an evil-doer. He is calm, collected, and patient. Minoru speaks deliberately, he isn’t the type to mince words and everything he says usually is innuendo; he enjoys double meanings and trickery, he isn’t very straight-forward as everything he says is cryptic. Minoru is the type to philosophize. He likes to explain things in depth and provide his own interpretation about the subject at hand; granted his interpretation is conjecture but the way he says it makes you believe it is factual and true. Being a career liar he can easily sway the opinion of the fodder, though once you get to know him it is rather easy to tell when he is lying.
Minoru appears to be aloof and indifferent in most things; he even blatantly tells others that he really doesn’t care about most things, so he isn’t the type to argue. He would most likely present his point, in spite of your own opinion, and walk away satisfied without bothering to listen to your own opinion. Some call him cruel, relentless, and downright evil based on his actions, it seems that those who don’t really know him find him this way; in reality it is literally impossible to tell just what he is. He will stand there right in front of you, look into your eyes and tell you that his actions aren’t evil they are simply ‘honest’ in a sense that it describes the harshness of reality, but moments after he would ruthlessly murder someone in cold blood he’d smile about it.
His enigmatic persona stems from how he presents himself. Minoru doesn’t sneer, he doesn’t glare, and he doesn’t give off ‘murderous intent’ he stands there with a bright smile on his face nearly 90% of the time. He is always seen with a smile on his face. He speaks in a happy tone of voice and he isn’t vulgar to anyone, even his enemies. Minoru is very calculating, his philosophy is “No matter how far your opponent can see, be one step away,” his actions are never random, even if he ends up being beaten to a bloody pulp it has some sort of purpose behind it.
Minoru isn’t the type to forget things. He is known for having an astute memory; he is able to recall things from his life most people would much rather suppress. But then again he isn’t the type to reminisce either. He won’t go around reminding everyone of his past or even bother to ask anyone else their own past, he shows considerable respect for others’ histories and would probably live by the dictum, “Putting your past behind you.”
He shows respect for people who will stand by their beliefs at the eyes of adversity, but that won’t stop him from browbeating him but figuratively and literally.
[Appearance] –
Minoru isn’t very menacing in appearance. He is relatively average in appearance. Standing at 5’10’’ he has a thin and pathetically small stature. With a lanky gait and a puny appearance he doesn’t put off a menacing aura as his personality may suggest, he looks like an average person to be honest. He has a look that one may find adorable in a sense. For people who don’t know him seeing his face and his ‘innocent’ smile may think he is a very kind person at heart, he has been described as ‘tainted innocence’ one that makes you think twice before trusting another pretty face again.
He has a rounded-off face with a sharp chin and nonthreatening eyes. His complexion is rather pale but not to the point where he looks bleached I guess, but he isn’t the type that you would recommend for a suntan. He has dark eyes that look almost purple in the right light; with dark shoulder-length hair that looks neatly cropped and combed he doesn’t give off the impression of an authoritative figure. His hair falls over his forehead, like a fringe, and barely threads on his eyebrows.
As mentioned before he has a small stature. Minoru’s shoulders are pathetically formed that is reminiscent of a teenager, his arms and legs are thin, and he is quite skinny with little muscle mass.
Minoru wears dark clothing that consists of a black blazer over a white dress shirt, he seems to be dressed in a relatively well-manner in contrast to his personality. The buttons on his cuff, chest and collar are golden in color and shimmer rather bright for buttons. His blazer is buttoned up neatly obscuring his white dress shirt underneath; he has matching black pants that are free of wrinkles or evidence of wear-and-tear. His belt is black and gold.

All Fiction –
All Fiction is a rather enigmatic ability, no one really knows how the ability works but through conjecture they have some things figured out. In layman’s terms All Fiction is the ability to warp reality to the user’s whim and desire, All Fiction has been seen used as a method of ‘healing’ a target, making things nonexistent: like for example Minoru had used All Fiction to take away someone’s eyesight only to bring it back once the target was unconscious.
As mentioned the exact details of All Fiction are still vague and not explained.
All Fiction 1st Stage
“Change reality into fiction,”
All Fiction warps reality to Minoru’s whim, he can make things that are real nonexistent. Death, eyesight, gravity, oxygen, physics… anything really he can make them disappear in the blink of an eye. On several occasions Minoru had survived multiple near-death experiences and came out unscathed as his opponents watched his mangled and bloodied body instantly change back to normal right in front of them. Minoru made others blind by poking them or even just gesturing towards them, and then moments later he restored their eyesight as if it were nothing. This stage, while deadly, seems limited. In fights Minoru takes multiple blows without activating All Fiction, it is only AFTER his opponents are done that he heals himself, one could infer that a time limit might be in effect to avoid him having All Fiction active at all times. Also it seems the proximity of All Fiction is small in diameter. At one point he engaged several armed soldiers in a small school, the room in which they fought became altered due to All Fiction while the rest of the school remained intact, and once Minoru left the room it had returned to normal.
After his transcendence this stage has been extremely revamped to a much larger scale. All of reality and all of existence is being treaded upon All Fiction. As a result All Fiction is quite literally the thing that defines reality. However due to the enigmatic relativism of reality and of existence this is quite opposite of what I just said as well. All Fiction defines reality and yet it doesn’t at the same time, All Fiction can tear into reality and rewrite the rules that we hold so dear to our hearts of our puny mortal existence but with the simple act of defiance all of the efforts made by All Fiction can be made into nothingness. To put it in layman’s terms All Fiction is everything and nothing at the same time, existing as two separates parts: as the conventional term that defines all and as the deviate that defies the very rules it defines. All Fiction is an infinite paradox, there is no All Fiction and there is All Fiction.
With All Fiction he is able to do anything he wants, he could render someone unconscious, he could teleport someone to a faraway land, he could blow up the moon, he could make winter nonexistent, he could make someone nonexistent, he could make someone spontaneously combust, he could make wounds nonexistent and in essence “heal” someone, he could do all of that and more but he can’t do it at the same time. This is the large drawback for All Fiction; it is difficult to define and to even figure out without using any paradoxical terms so I’ll give you this instead: If reality is set All Fiction cannot work, otherwise All Fiction sets reality without contest.
All Fiction 2nd Stage
“Making the impossible possible, I wonder what kind of chaos I can cause with this,”
All Fiction also seems to grant Minoru with the ability to ‘create’ things from nothingness. At one point he was bare-handed then as he smiled two giant screws appeared in his hands from which he used to impale his opponents. So deducing from that knowledge one could say he has the ability to wrap reality to produce the impossible, with a grand ability like this one would think he would produce the most powerful weapons in the world. Oddly enough Minoru doesn’t take advantage of this ability, he rarely produces anything and in the heat of combat he is more conservative and fights to react to his opponent rather than take the imitative. So from there one could assume that ability is either extremely taxing to his physical body or difficult to control.
All Fiction operates on a system of belief. “Whatever is believed to be reality will become reality.” It isn’t so much as a reality-warper ability whereas it doesn’t affect reality but his perception of reality. It doesn’t control or rewrite reality but more like makes reality fit into his own image. Rather than change reality altogether why not change how reality should be seen? Strong belief isn’t the only basis of this ability. That would be far too easy, each zealot or madman bent on world domination could inherit All Fiction. All Fiction merely provides the key to making reality tangible; his twisted perception is what makes it work.
[Bio] –
Surrounded by a rather enigmatic past and an even more enigmatic personality and ability it is difficult to ascertain truth behind such a shrouded past. Truth, relativity, deceit, all of these is simply words with little meaning behind them. While not exactly truthful but not the type to blatantly lie over something like his domestic lifestyle Minoru is the last person you would want to get information from concerning his upbringing. Minoru Izumi wasn’t born under the guise of a happy life; in fact from the moment his life began his bad luck became entirely obvious. All Fiction had rapidly begun to develop which in turn made him into some sort of national hero deep within the heart of Japan. They had considered him a miracle baby considering all of the power he had, everything the baby had envisioned became reality, he seemingly develop telepathic and kinetic abilities which caught the eye of many reporters which in turn caught the Americans’ attention.
Section III saw opportunity in All Fiction and in Minoru and, despite the pleads, and even, outright furious denial they had managed to get Minoru from his mother. The first thing they did when he hit American dirt was test him. They tested him and tested him until they ran out of tests and had to come up with some new ones. Naturally this didn’t bode well with the child. He began to develop a negative outlook on life and especially of his own existence. He was subjected to torture until it became methodic to him. Wake up, take the routine blood tests, take the routine written tests, take the routine physical examinations, and take more blood tests, tests that induced All Fiction under lax conditions, tests that induced All Fiction under extreme conditions.
They were sure they had struck gold with All Fiction; it had the ability to do everything it seemed. One particular event where Minoru was killed under a routine fire exam but when the smoke cleared Minoru was standing there in the center of the room completely unscathed. He was recorded dead for ten straight minutes but when he was revived he was healthy, too healthy in fact.
They had thought All Fiction was an ability based on illusion since he was able to do impossible things like alter the trajectory of bullets to completely avoid him, or slowing down the speed in which a ten-ton object fell on him, even stopping death. They figured it was a telepathic ability that allowed him to “rewrite” what they saw in replacement with what he “willed” happened. So, they tested him for that as well.
Every day was a nightmare for him, he was broken mentally and physically multiple times but with All Fiction all of the damage inflicted on him was “reset” so it never happened, but that didn’t mean he didn’t retain the knowledge of the event. No matter what he did, no matter what happened, he could not erase those memories in his head. The memories of his deaths, the memories of killing those test subjects, the memories of those terrible experiments, of each needle and each drill, the memory of waking up at night screaming because of a new biological serum injected into him to test his vitality. He could reset any wounds inflicted on him, he could even reset his own death, but those memories wouldn’t go away.
Still you couldn’t really tell that it was hurting him. Every day Minoru showed up for testing with a bright smile on his face, even as he was killed; he stood back up with that same smile on his face. They figured that he was psychologically damaged and thus repressing those emotions but they figured with All Fiction in consideration the more logical choice was that he was indeed resetting the emotional damage.
Things got bad when he was six. More and more kids like himself were being put into his program and the testing got more extreme. He was informed that they were making kids into what he was. This was fantastic! Perhaps now he had a chance to be around kids like him, kids with powers like him. Perhaps now he won’t be so lonely. All of the pain was worth having someone to talk to. The first test subject he met had the ability to control plants. She had adored this ability and even thanked Minoru for allowing her to have this power. He felt even happier to make someone else happy with his power.
The next day she was subjected to a test in which she was trapped in a room with deadly lasers to test how subjects react when being trapped in a room with deadly lasers. Needless to say the green girl was too inexperienced to handle the test and consequently was killed as a result. Minoru was watching the entire time; he couldn’t get the image of her dead out of his head, so… he snapped.
During a psychological review Minoru had calmly disabled all of the monitoring systems in the room and gouged out the psychologist’s eyes before turning on the camera and saying, “[Eh? So, I can hurt you guys huh?]” His nasty voice resonated within the entire facility but before Section III could rally Minoru had escaped.
Since then Minoru had been running around the United States in hopes of staying low within the shadows. He did not want to kill anyone in Section III, and in fact only wanted to take refuge some place safe. Then they sent the tanks. He was in Eastern Europe hiding in a small town when four military personnel, presumably Revs, had arrived at his house wearing huge battle armor that resembled a miniature tank. They tried to kill him and he had inadvertently killed two of them. In the midst of all the chaos Minoru couldn’t believe what he had done, it wasn’t panic or fear that he was feeling but anticipation. He didn’t believe how easy it was to kill those soldiers so he wanted to test a theory.
He picked up one of the soldiers and revived him then killed him again. Confused he looked at the remaining soldiers and said, “[Why are you guys so weak? You can die so easily it feels like you’re frail as glass.] To prove his point he took a knife and slit his throat but remained standing miraculously, “[See? If you can’t at least handle this amount of punishment what good are you?]”
He fled quickly, after reviving the murdered soldier, and went back to the U.S. Baffled he tried to remember his life in Section III. He was forced to do horrible things for them with no chance of escape, and when he was staying in peace without making any trouble he was ambushed, why did they want him dead so much? Then it hit him. His existence was merely to be a tool for them but when he was seen as rampant he needed to be disposed of. With a sly smile he had figured out what he wanted to do, he wanted to see Section III burn to the ground with him as the bad guy that had done the heinous act.
No matter if he was a bad guy or a good guy or whatever, all he wanted was Section III gone.

[Personality] –
Shiori is the type of person to believe that she is perfect and that everyone else is inferior to her. Well, not really, she comes off like that probably because she really does believe it. Shiori is a rather flamboyant genius; while she doesn’t flaunt her intellect per se she makes it obvious that she is certainly aware of her genius. She is sadistic and almost downright cruel to some people, but while I say this she isn’t the type to start picking fights. With some misguided sense of invincibility she believes she is untouchable due to how much influence and pull she has on Section III. Taking the initiative and learning everything about how Section III works, she claims that she is a know-it-all and that there is nothing in the world that she doesn’t know. A self-proclaimed genius she tends to look down on anyone she deems appropriate but otherwise she shrugs people off.
Shiori is brutally honest to people especially when it comes to her opinion about them or anything akin to that. She is straightforward and cuts to the chase when explaining her distaste of people, she isn’t the type to start conflicts considering she is rather cowardly and would proudly leave as soon as something seems to be going bad. She doesn’t like the icky mess that comes with fighting and would much rather have others do it. She loves messing with situations from the background and control things to watch them play out, while she is an instigator she isn’t fond of boring fights. Shiori isn’t hesitant when displaying her distaste for something. Rather conservative and calm-mannered she doesn’t like jumping into things without thinking.
Shiori is a big eater. With a seemingly endless appetite she is the type to down food as fast as someone could dish it out, she eats more food in a day than how someone would in a week. She claims this is because she has a growing body and needs the extra energy but then turns out to say it is related to her abnormality. Shiori is rarely seen without some sort of food in her hand, and because of this bottomless pit of a stomach that she has her outlook on food is rather odd. She tends to think cooked noodles are a type of drink while chicken is a little snack comparable to chips.
[Appearance] –
At 5’5’’ Shirori has the appearance of a puny little kid unfit for this world and more likely to be at McDonalds playing in the park. She has rounded out features and puffy cheeks indicative of her youthfulness, with bright green eyes and a mess of brown hair cropped over her face framing it nicely with individual bands of hair acting as bangs she looks so innocent and cute. She has a thin body that is shapeless underneath her clothes; her peach complexion seems to give her a radiant quality.
Shiori wears a white shirt that is neatly button up with black fin-like designs cutting through the cloth barely resembling a shark. Her sleeves are far too big as they overextend her arms and cover her hands neatly; her cuffs and collar are bright gold contrasting against the black designs. She has on blue jeans with color markings scribbled over the legs. Shiori isn’t considerate to her clothes either since she tends to spill her food over her top, a shame really.
[Evolution] –
[Void Eater]
An abnormality that, she claims, to give her the ability to absorb anything and everything around her. She isn’t able to, say, touch a steel pipe and absorb its material for personal or augmentative purposes. She is, essentially, able to become “one” with anything that comes in contact with her. It is a bit hard to explain this but her power is selective, if she were to, say, come in contact with fire she would be able to absorb the fire and render it harmless. How she goes about the absorption is rather unique, she “eats” whatever she wants to absorb. But here is the weird part, whenever she wants to absorb something her head is contorted to a wicked form. It becomes a giant black blob-like thing with bright yellow eyes and a large scarred opening that looks like her mouth, her method of speech isn’t altered in any way but it looks so disgusting to be honest.
It isn’t like Shiori is able to absorb everything as she claims above. She seems to have difficulty absorbing anything twice as big as her or anything moving at impossible speeds. But the ability has another side-effect. When she absorbs something she is able to expel it out in any manner she deems fit, so she is able to, in theory, take something she absorbed and use it to alter herself. She hasn’t shown any ability in something like this and only seems to be content with using this power to redirect projectiles.
[Bio] –
Shiori claims to have been the daughter of the first director of Section III and that she had volunteered to enter Section III at her own whim to fulfill her own agenda. But so far it seems she doesn’t have any intention of following whatever Section III tells her to do. She hates fighting, she hates the paramilitary produced by Section III and she seems content to only munch on her food peacefully.

Spoiler Show[Name] – Ichigo Hiyori
[Nickname] – Demon Queen
[Age] – 20
[Gender] – Female
Faction – Section III
Weapons – N/A
[Personality] –
Seemingly stoic to everything, including pain or scenes of torture, Ichigo is a difficult woman to define. One moment she could be peacefully wading along without a care in the world but in another she could be swearing at you with evil intent. Ichigo is a rather moody person but it isn’t hard to predict a mood change, she is extremely soft-spoken and often doesn’t speak unless she finds it necessary. But at the same time her beliefs are rather extreme. She despises luxury and being bestowed with excellent gifts, she loathes the fact that she is beautiful, intelligent, and blessed with the luxury of a well-suited home provided by Section III. She hates all of that for one simple fact: One cannot create something amazing without misery. After studying the great minds of the past she has come to a conclusion that misery bores revolution. She would never be able to create something untouchable if she were so happy. Because of this she has seemingly thrown away worldly desires in pursuit for something simple. She finds the desires of humans trivial and unbecoming, not being immune to the simplest of desires she masks this with indifference.
Ichigo seems to be rather fond of art and in more particular the visual arts. Taking up a comfortable position as an artist she has a habit of drawing randomly or for prolonged periods of time. Because of this Ichigo takes this hobby seriously and hates being distracted or losing her inspiration to draw. She has been known to have violent tendencies when interrupted while drawing. But because of this she has taken up the liberty of immersing herself into her art. She wants to experience whatever her subject has experienced and she refuses to draw anything that isn’t directly related to something she has experienced. She enjoys the idea of being connected to her drawings but she claims that this outlook on art is only to get the best result possible.
Even at a young age she has shown exemplary skill as an intellect, she is the youngest scientist at Section III. At the age of fifteen she had shut herself in a room to study biology and the human body and thanks to the large foundation put into her by Section III she had easily become a psychosomatic doctor. She takes pleasure, far too much in my opinion, in remodeling the human body to whatever she sees fit. This act is holy to her, even more so than drawing. She takes this seriously as well and immerses herself in the process. Her abnormality seems to stem from this twisted personality as well.
Highly intelligent and antisocial she tends to distance herself from everyone. Truthfully she is a rather shy person and hides behind a mask of indifference, she is the type of person to allow herself to be seen in a negative light if it meant helping someone. She would be the bad guy and turn everyone away so she could shoulder the burden herself.
[Appearance] –
A rather well-endowed woman of 5’9’’ Ichigo has obvious evidence of maturity made apparent of her body. She has a pale complexion with hawkish, sharp features. Her angular face and frown suggests an inherently negative person. She has smooth and clear skin indicative of youthfulness with few wrinkles, indicative of a resolute personality – considering lack of worry is 98% indicative of a mild-mannered personality contrast to her true personality. She has stark navy blue hair that is styled back and spiked outward as to avoid all contact to her face. Despite the notion that she has concerning people staring directly at her, she dislikes the idea of hair in her face, it distracts her. She has a prominent forehead, thin eyebrows and dark eyes with a frightening glint to them. She stares at people with subtle indifference but with a hunger of changing them, obsessive over changing and perfecting people she tends to look at people while conducting a million possibilities of making them better, so if she is staring at your chin she’s probably trying to figure out how it works.
Ichigo’s body is rather thin but certainly not malnourished. She has a shapely body with ample curves that complements her womanly features. She certainly holds an air of maturity with a developed chest and hips; with an ineffable confidence radiating from her Ichigo is seemingly unapproachable. Ichigo has a tendency to make faces in order to feign changes in emotion; she is the type to switch moods spontaneously and without warning for the simple practice of screwing people. She’ll most likely go for a clichéd upset face before switching off to an expression of anger if it doesn’t work. But her face is fluid it seems because it is so unpredictable and changes so often it is hard to tell if her current expression isn’t a lie.
Ichigo doesn’t care for clothing and anything of that sort so she would much rather go around walking in her underwear as she has little sense of embarrassment. But since she is versed in etiquette, vaguely mind you, she maintains an orderly method of appearance. She wears a black messy dress with a skirt that goes to her knees, with black stockings and sleeves from her fingers to her shoulders and a formal top she looks like an ordinary business lady. Ichigo tends to disperse that image quickly for the sake of being truthful. Black gothic boots are tied neatly to her feet while a band-aid, or unknown origin, is taped to her right cheek. There is no discernible wound underneath the band-aid but she keeps it there as a reminder supposedly.
[Evolution] –
[Fracture]
Being a rather revered surgeon and scientist in Section III it is easy to see how it all started. Her original abnormality was the surprising genius that she has but it further extended towards her ability to remodel people to induce auto-evolution in a quicker and more efficient manner than Section III could hope to accomplish. She has the ability to instantly understand and comprehend the genetic structure of an organism such precision it is nearly impossible to fathom such a resultant. This is due to what Fracture enables her to do, she doesn’t “see” anyone’s abnormality but instead she can “feel” it. She claims that abnormalities are so powerful that they can be detected in a sense that normal people are unable to comprehend. Claiming that it takes an abnormal to understand an abnormal. She is able to feel someone’s abnormality and while she isn’t able to understand the mechanics quickly after a period of time of seeing it in action it becomes much more obvious. However despite all of this Ichigo isn’t able to do anything with that knowledge, she isn’t a huge fighter and she isn’t really physically adept, sure she’s had training in fighting but that isn’t much against someone who can kill her instantly while brings me to her second abnormality.
With the understanding and the knowledge of abnormalities, Ichigo is able to create an abnormality herself. All her life she has worked around abnormal and has seen hundreds upon thousands of abnormal so it isn’t hard to believe that she has a grasp of how abnormals work. So with that she is able to remodel herself to the point where she can create a fresh abnormality on the spot. DNA manipulation and hormonal and chemical balances are considered when remodeling, it isn’t as simple as “willing” herself abnormal as she has to alter her body structure to accompany an “abnormal’s” body. It isn’t a quick process and in fact if she doesn’t have adequate equipment and has to do it off the top of her head it is extremely dangerous. Of course any abnormalities involving kinetic, telepathic, or cerebral abilities is even more difficult with the danger of serious harm done to her body if she oversteps her boundaries. Either way, she isn’t a fighter; she just likes to watch abnormals at work.
[Bio] –
She’s hated her past life. Everything about it was so painfully beautiful. She was in a good home, she had a wealthy family, she had intelligence, a loving mom and dad and beautiful siblings. She despised all of that because of the prospect of being happy. What was the point of being born at the top of the ladder when you couldn’t accomplish anything while up there? Her abnormality allowed her to absorb so much knowledge at a young age she was troubled by the sheer scale of it all, weighted by her own genius she took refuge in her room hiding from the perfectionist family that she, supposedly, has. Perfection? People weren’t perfect; people were scum hiding behind their own lies, masks of deceit carefully woven to fool everyone.
At five she ran away from home. She wanted to forget everything about her past so with the help of her abnormality she had erased her memories of her past. She had accidentally erased everything about her, including her name, so she took a random name “Ichigo” and added that last name later on. She knows that she had erased her past forcefully and makes no attempt to rekindle that so instead she hid out in New York.
Ichigo took a particular interest in biology and studied that fruitfully, whenever she could she would read and read without concern of her health. Most of the time she would literally read herself to death, starving and malnourished she would have to scourge for food but she only ate enough to survive the next day.
One day she had attended a science convention from the newly established Luculent Science. She had rudely interrupted one of the presentations during an explanation of auto-evolution with a theory of her own. It was hardly laudable, a tiny child trying to refute an established scientist’s own theory with one of her own. It was nothing short of a miracle that she wasn’t booted immediately. But once her explanation dragged on the man decided he had heard enough and wanted her out of the room. Ichigo took drastic measures. With about five syringes she quickly remodeled herself in front of everyone and had created an abnormality. Creating electricity in her hands she had fired off a bolt and destroyed a nearby table, the guards opened fire and she had magnetically bonded their guns to the floor disarming them.
Everyone had evacuated and Ichigo fled the police. Walking away from the center she came across two men wearing inauspicious clothes, they asked her if she wanted an opportunity to create something great with her talents, she accepted.
[Other] –
She has a habit of drawing doujins
She tends to forget people’s names
Ironically enough she is one of the people in Section III that is more of a Negative than anyone else.
Spoiler ShowAustralian born - with lineage tracing back to Ireland - Aiden and his brother Kegan (older by two years) were born and raised in the south-west Australian city of Perth, living in the low-to-middle financial range of the populace. The streets were the playthings of Aiden and Kegan where other children could afford their own devices of sedentary entertainment. Daily exploration and games in the streets of city and suburb alike - alongside evasion of manned and automated patrols (systems in place to deter criminal activity, patrols themselves would not act on any discrepensies, only report them; children below the age of sixteen not in schools were considered as discrepencies to be investigated further) - gifted the brothers with quick wit and a basic level of tactical knowledge; how to avoid detection, track targets, hold down key areas, and more as a result of games among the unschooled children.
When the brothers were seven and nine during their family's toughest financial times, their father 'volunteered' the entire family for seemingly innocuous tests of new medical procedures for monetary gain. The treatment the parents received were truly innocuous, and were the boys less genetically and physically remarkable for their age (maintaining excellent health with no artificial assistance - ie; biomedical nanites) they too would have received the same. However, one paramilitary corporation residing in Oceania was using these tests to also guage the suitability of various populations for augmentation with genetic material from subject 005-MI-Z. Aiden and Kegan passed preliminary tests with flying colours, and two months later, got their regular - and fateful - injections of the stuff that would change their life.
The earliest signs of their developing powers manifested when they were eight and ten. Aiden's own perception of temperature would result in an actual, subtle adjustment of temperature - when sick, fever or chills would result in the immediate environment growing hotter or colder. Meanwhile Kegan's powers appeared to relate to people - someone saddened or in pain, when being touched or even slightly comforted by Kegan, would quickly find themselves feeling back to normal, if not better a few days later. As the boys grew, basic testing of their powers was introduced into the visits that would see the administration of more synthesised 005-MI-Z DNA. A regular attendant to these tests was also tasked with psychological profiling of the boys, and it is from her that the best glimpse into the cause for these powers in particular came. Before in-depth psychological study could be conducted with the parents' consent, the boys were abducted and conscripted into a empowered-child soldier program by the same group that gifted them their powers.
Spoiler ShowBoth boys demonstrate physical and psychological development years beyond anyone else their age - exposure to 'street life' and near-zero interaction with sendetary electronic entertainment are a likely cause. They possess the health, mental acuity, creativity and maturity of children their age from the mid-20th century - any child living a 'normal' life while demonstrating such traits would be lauded as some kind of miracle child.
A common misconception is such children have 'good genes', which is totally false. Nanites admnistered neo-natally ensure every subject has not just 'good' genetics, but excellent genes; it is a product of the environment and lifestyles in opposition to quality genes that has seen this stunted growth of children exacerbate itself over the last century.
I'm blabbering, so let me return to the topic: The boys are marvels, really. Such a 'quality' human being nowadays would need active and passive nanite maintainance, alongside a hugely active regime of exercise and learning coupled with decent sleep. Some testers want to see how far the children could be pushed were we to introduce nanites into their bodies and try making changes, but neither the parents nor the subjects themselves consent to this - they seem intent to live a self-biologically non-tech life, and they do it extremely well. They demonstrate zero of the detriments witnessed in people or cultures with similar attitudes, such as the neo- or classical-Amish.
Blabbering once more, let me move straight onto the psych stuff with no preamble.
Aiden's powers appear to be associated with temperature control, the exact mechanics of which are not understood. He wields hot and cold with a little skill right now, which seems totally appropriate given Aiden's own emotional dispositions: He does not appear to feel things mildly or apathetically - his emotions dance between passions of one inclination or another. His feelings are always intense, and always seem to jump between such opposites that I wonder if he is mildly bi-polar. His happiness is ecstatic, his anger like a devil's, his conviction cold as steel.
Kegan's powers, on the other hand, seem totally concentrated around people as opposed to the physical world. His powers would appear to alter the body of subjects to remedy illness, be it physical, emotional or psychological. Kegan was even able to resolve the turmoil of one tester who was in the midst of suffering a nervous breakdown due to moral conflict. What causes this is similarly unknown, but easier to postulate: Kegan's influence does not involve any transmission of physical substances - that is, he does not put anything of himself into someone before they start changing in some form.
His influence is remote, it would seem, and alters the mechanics of the body to help or heal itself; in one reprehensible test scenario, a stray dog was lacerated and made to find its way to Kegan, who immediately embraced it, at which stage the rabid and unsociable animal calmed right down, and coagulation of the wound set in. By day's end, when the dog had to be extricated from Kegan's grasp and later be euthanized and autopsied, all traces of its injuries was gone. Though no testers will take my opinion seriously for my lack of personal understanding of the ability's mechanics, I will posit that Kegan's powers extend from his own demonstrations of extreme empathy and sympathy.
His will to help and understand others is astounding for a child in an age so fraught with psychological and emotional disorders of apathy and willful ignorance among young adults. Perhaps something other than biological control can be learnt from this boy.
Spoiler ShowIt was in the following years the passive testing turned to active training in their powers, as peaceful and benign efforts to understand the abilities of these boys and others became exhausting and near-fatal efforts to coax further developments out of them. When Aiden began demonstrating the ability to control the temperature of his environment, he was immediately ticked on a secret list for extreme environment warfare - this was a boy who could, with coaxing, fight effortlessly in the Sahara or the Antarctic, and anywhere between, really.
Kegan was designated as the field medic for any test scenario or real-world mission, and it was also through his powers that several of the other children improved physically with stunning rapidity - as Kegan's powers advanced, he was using them to alter the structure of his own body and Aiden (and those of the closest friends in the program) to improve themselves, mostly in the form of muscular and skeletal alterations. Over his years in the program, Kegan dozens of times to discuss with researchers the possibility of letting him partake in sub-program to create super-soldiers without the need for technological augmentation - a crippling disadvantage of such things being their susceptibility to being knocked out in the presence of EMP fields and weaponry; popular tools in an age of increasingly-prevalent advanced combat hardware. On each occasion he was denied being allowed to assist in such a project, with virtually every other willing participant fearful that Kegan's tendency to grow very emotionally attached to those he heal would infinitly complicate any experiments and developments they would need to make.
It was ultimately (but indirectly) because of this that Kegan sought to leave the program altogether, with Aiden in tow. His powers - and very nature - meant he had the ability and the need to help and advance people, and at every corner he was being prevented this. The best he could do was opportunistically make specific (un-experimental) alterations to close friends for their benefit, all of said changes being very typical and uninteresting to Kegan by the end. In the closing months of his time in the program, Kegan became increasingly obssessed with this notion of helping and advancing not just people in general, but eventually humanity as a whole. He felt it in his power - and could see in his mind - to evolve the human race without need of technology, for one's own body to improve itself with one's directing oversight.
Three and a half years ago, Kegan used what would be his first destructive application of his power - he created a sleeper virus that functioned or died based around the presence of 005-MI-Z derived genetics. The virus would thrive and grow in people lacking it, but would die in those that possessed it. As such, over the course of a few weeks, it spread to every non-empowered person who came anywhere near the program and, when it reached a certain 'critical density' across all infected subjects, it attacked the host, inducing but one symptom: organ liquification.
Less than a week later, all staff were dead, unable to leave the facility or call for assistance due to the searing pain that coursed through every space in their chest and gut. After twelve hours of suffering, victims began coughing up gelatnous chunks of their rapidly-atrophying organs in pools of black sludge. When the soldiers themselves departed the faciliy, all the corridors were deathly silent, pervaded by the sickening stench of rotting and dissolved human flesh. Every person they walked past on their way out was dead, fallen to the ground, hugging their own stomachs in the foetal position as they lay in black puddles of what used to be their own organs.
Spoiler ShowWithout hesitation, all of the soldiers fled, with Aiden and Kegan departing for the Middle East - the Arab world, left behind in a relative dark age after all accessible deposits of fossil fuels dried up. No technology there was advanced beyond the end of the nineteenth century, and the technology to track anyone who went their could not function in that country because the infrastructure for it simply did not exist. An absolute dead zone for surveillance and intelligence, and the perfect place to hide.
Aiden and Kegan found their way to Turkmenistan, one of the least-noticed countries of the Middle East, and went into hiding for several months, until Kegan's need to change people became too great, especially here. These were people without quality of life, without hope, without anything to lose - a veritable test bed of millions of people who would likely take any chance to improve their impoverished lives. Aiden's earliest changes to people was healing of the sick and diseased, seen as divine power by many who witnessed it. Within weeks, Aiden was trusted among a small circle of village to cease healing people of their 'ilness of the body' and to begin healing people of what he would term the 'ilness of humanity'.
Kegan's alterations to subjects were fairly random as he used them to test his own powers and further his own knowledge, and while many attempts were hodge-podge at best, the sheer variety of results he achieved only cemented the view that others held of him, and served to fuel his growing borderline-religious obssession with the concept and quest of curing humanity.
Over the course of a few years, in the eyes of the people in the Arab world, Kegan went from a magical anomaly to a prophet. Though maniacal in his views, they were grounded heavily in benefical personal experienced and good intent: Curing the problems that plague humanity's world by curing humanity itself, and from this belief, he warped the genes of subjects to the extent that they could guide their own growth and evolution, to a small degree.
This resulted in the 'first generation' who were physically akin to Section-III's Abnormals. It was the second generation that was truly phenomenal, children - from birth - demonstrating powers that so far had only manifested in children much later in life.
From his own upbringing, Kegan made a 'corrolary' to his bio-philosopical school of thought: evolution of the self by the self - allow technology everywhere in one's life but keep one's sacred body pure of it. Hence why Kegan fostered the self-evolution ability in his subjects, so that they could be the ones to evolve, from their own efforts.
Of course, after a year and a half, none of this went unnoticed as apparent Abnormals began popping up all over the Middle East, and eventually Negatives too. Unrecorded negatives, meaning something was generating them. Section-III itself became the lead power in investigating these anomalies, and escalating attempts on Kegan's life saw his followers become a willing defence force for his life and cause, something Kegan initially did not want, but that he soon personally saw as a necessity. Section-III and its forces were the primary hindrance to all Kegan's efforts, meaning they had to be removed.
Increasingly desperate and frustrated (Kegan would send back any would-be assassins with a new wonder virus or disease for Section-III to have to diagnose and cure if they want to keep their agent) Section-III started a covert war on the Arab world, a biological cleansing of the people Kegan had helped and advanced. When a city entire populated by his changed followers was under threat, Kegan brought himself once more out of hiding to confront the slaughterers, and it was that day, four months ago, that Kegan was slain.
[APPEARANCE]Spoiler ShowPerhaps as a self-preservation mechanism against the dangers of his own powers, unless Aiden is in a heightened emotional state, he is in a completely neutral one. That is, when 'calm' he experiences virtually no emotions, and instead of functioning like a human, acts more like a computer would: with careful observation, detailed thought, and acting only one the most sensible or risk-free thoughts. Because of this, Aiden is very difficult to socialise with when calm, lacking any and all emotional investment in conversation, and similarly lacking any of the empathy necessary for deep interpersonal interaction. An important implication of this is that when Aiden does experience emotions beyond their most stunted forms, he swings into experiencing their stronger forms very rapidly. As with the neutral-to-strong emotional transition, Aiden can also swing strongly and rapidly between emotional states, even conflicting ones. As such, he can be said to experience mood swings of particular intensity.
Aiden is a brutally no-nonsense person, and in most cases when he seems sincere but does not appear supremely happy, angry, sad (and so forth), he is faking emotion for the sake of his own benefit. His years as a soldier and regular emotional apathy means he only directly cares for people when they're in his squad in a combat situation, or when he can see that further bonding will improve their cohesion in tight situations. Though lacking in any particular social skill, he tries to bond with everyone of the Negatives he accompanies, knowing that they will all - at some stage - have to band together and stand against some threat or another.
Being a 'second-in-comand' to his brother, Horatio regularly acted as a vanguard for Kegan's travels or arrivals in new locations, tasked with observing and garaunteeing the safety of villages and towns Kegan and his core entourage would be passing through or staying in. He would typically proceed accompanied by only one or two fighters, and with their assistance, would persuade - through force, bargains, debate or otherwise - villagers and possible hostiles to allow his brother to stay. With each town, Aiden would 'adopt' several natives into his own squad, for the fact they knew the layout of the entire town and, upon departure, those natives would be left behind. Through this, Aiden has developed into a keen tactical fighter, as well as an excellent impromptu leader - he isued to leaving full leadership to others, but is very competent when it is laid upon him. His regularly-shifting squad has also taught him to quickly understand those he will be fighting with - their attitudes, strengths, weaknesses and more - to make the best possible use of them.
Spoiler ShowThanks to his brother's alterations, Aiden experiences physical superiority compared to a normal human being that is typically only enabled by the host being imbued with nanites to shape and maintain their body. A consequence of these changes is that Aiden has a ravenous apetite to satisfy the increased energy needs of his body. The most significant changes to Aiden's body are in the microscopic structure and composition of Aiden's muscles and bones, but do not manifest in any externally-obvious form.
Furthermore, though Aiden's own body adapting and the changes made by his brother, every aspect of his body can continue to function normally in temperatures that would incapacitate or kill most humans. Augmented by his own ability to manipulate temperatures, Aiden can survive in environs of extreme heat or cold better than desert nomads or eskimos.
Spoiler ShowAll of Aiden's skeletal muscles - those that may be voluntarily controlled - are formed from similar cells as in standard human muscles, but with different organisation. Rather than the standard striated form, muscle cells in Aiden's body connect in helical 'springs', which then serve to form long fibres stretching the length of the muscle. Because of this organisation, they are able to store and exert much greater mechanical energy, resulting in faster and more powerful movements of muscles. Corollary to this is the phenomena where the same energy input for a human muscles would result in nearly triple output for Aiden's.Spoiler ShowAiden's entire skeleton is formed from a super-dense, naturally-occurring parallel to carbon fibre, grown in three different varieites depending on the type of bone. Lengthy bones, such as those in limbs, ribcage and around the neck, are made from 'strings' of bone, wrapped together like in a bridge's cables. This augments the bones' great strength with a high degree of elasticity before breaking, and makes them wholly shatter-proof.
Flat surfaces of bone - those in the skull, pelvis and shoulder blades - are made by a layering process that alernates flat sheets of bone with an perpendicula interweave of aforementioned 'bone strings'. As before, the very material of the bone is strong and able to take much punishment before it shows any sign of breaking, the gaps provided by the bone weave, again, allow the bone to flex to some degree, but to a lesser extent than in the limbs
Small or stubby shapes of bone - fingers, toes, vertebrae and joints - are more similar to the overall human skeleton, though triple-layered. An external layer of multiple bone sheets like in flat shapes, with an internal structure of pourous bone. It is in the centre of these structures, and the 'empty' bubbles around it (likewise for the 'empty' spaces between bone-strings and bone-interweave) that the spongy marrow of the bone is present.
[WEAPONRY]Spoiler ShowFor three and a half years now, I have been the personal overseer of both the growth and study of the young Byrne's powers. Enough time (and effort) has been dedicated to endeavours both of advancement and understanding to now finally grasp his powers with a level of knowledge that bellies how inexplicable it at first seemed.
The crux of Aiden's powers are not inherently special - it's not something that was unpredictable or not already seen in science-ficton, for instance - however the deeper underlying mechanics of how they function warrants considerable consideration. Most intriguing is that the limitations so far observed in his powers of temperature have yet to indicate they stem from physical shortcomings - that is, that which limits or allows for the growth of Aiden's powers is something within himself, likely subconscious. Theoretically, there is no boundary for how far these powers may be stretched, but so far this proposition is exactly that - theory.
Careful correspondence with psychologists and neurologists has yielded the following conclusions: Aiden's powers are limited by processes in his subconscious, which appear to only be unlocked in very particular circumstances. Aiden has yet to be observed exhibiting termperature control at will, whenever commanded to do so - certain very specific criterion must be met in order for his power to manifest, which is part of the reason a physical limitation on these powers was disregarded - it did not allow for such particular and seemingly unrelated specific scenarios of enabling the power.
His power stems from and is contolled - and thus hindered - by his suboncsious, which seems 'aware' of the danger of the powers. Prof. Roenhardt posits that something in Aiden's subconscious mind acts as a trigger to only allow temperature control in very particular circumstances, otherwise Aiden might harm himself severely. As such, it would seem temperature control is granted in at least one scenario - the fight or flight situation, where heightened emotional states are extremely common. 'Tuned' elements of the limbic system keep Aiden's regular emotional state at a neutral minimum, preventing the manifestation of 'thermokinesis' as I've coined it, which appears as a direct result of emotional excitement. Prof. Roenhardt notes an abnormal abundance of connections between certain elements of the limbic system and the cerrebelum, which suggests overactivity in the former system impacting on activity and phenomena in the latter.
All Negatives thus far examined have abnormally-structured cerebellums, being much more densely formed and with vastly more interconnections of interior cells, which shows that extrasensory or remote senses or influence stem from activity in this area. What enables this is still little known, but in Aiden's case, it has been seen that activity in Aiden's limbic system also activates his cerebellum to a heigher degree. This means that when experiencing strong emotions, the activated cerebellum enables temperature alteration, and in some cases causes it - when Aiden was younger and less in-control of his powers, bouts of sadness or anger would result in his immediate area becoming cold or hot, respectively. This aspect of temperature control has so far shown all the signs of a survival mechanism, though a very special one, that is only activated when the immediate risk of safety or life is present.
The second way in which Aiden can wield his control over heat appears to the result of tricking his subconscious, or finding a loophole in its regular prevention of temperature control, and it was this phenomena which further dispelled the notion of a physical limitation so much as a mental one. When presented with an object perceived by Aiden as 'hot' or 'cold' that was not directly formed from Aiden's own remote activity caused by his cerebellum, he is able to then take this 'thermal spark' and apply his standard power to it. What makes this unusual in particular is that the threshold for the 'spark temperature' does not relate to any logical or physical value - temperature is not hot or cold, but just varying degrees of hot above zero. This threshold temperature appears to be about eighteen degrees celsius - the temperature of a mild day, really, which further lends credibility to the idea that physical limitations stem from mental sources rather than physical ones.
Spoiler ShowA triple-barelled 12-gauge shotgun, typically used by the heavy weapons specialist in a combat team, it is designed to not only allow for expanded ammunition capacity and greater destructive power (capable of firing all three barrels at once), but also allowing various forms of ammunition to be kept ready to fire in each barrel. On the standard Cerberus shotgun, the barrels sit in a triangular configuration, with two on top and one between them and underneath, all at equal length.
Aiden has shortened the bottom barrel, which is the pump-action barrel of the weapon, possessing a trigger integrated into the cocking mechanism. The two top barrels are fired from two seperate sets of triggers in the standard area, with one positioned over the other, with a double trigger gaurd arrangement so that the each barrel can be fired seperately or in unison, with one trigger for the index finger, and one for the ring finger. The two upper barrels are semi-automatic, and require no pump-action to load or prepare them for the next shot.
Rather than the snap-open setup to reload the rifle, the top barrels are fed by shells that slide into 'cages' down the outer sides of each barrel, which are pushed up into the barrel when the previous slug has been ejected through the top of the barrel. The bottom barrel is magazine fed, with individual shells needing to be inserted manually (much like the shotguns in the Halo games). The bottom barrel is used as the 'spine' of the weapon, with a protrusion spanning the length of the barrels jutting up from the same piece of metal as the bottom barrel. Embedded in the front of this is a dual torch and green laser-dot, and the entire thing is composed of an 'inverse superconductor' - a material that remains at constant temperature, and gains an electrical current when it would otherwise experience a change in temperature. Through this process, anything appriately 'plugged in' to this mass is able to draw electricity from it, and it is through this that the torch and laser are powered - the firing of the shotgun and the change in temperature associated with it power those two components. That this central mass does not change temperature is key to the truly unique function of the shotgun - the types of ammunition each of the top barrels fire.
The right barrel is used to fire high-yield incendiary rounds, that shoots a spray of napalm, fuel and sparks of molten metal with an effective range of roughly ten metres, at which the average impact diameter is one and a half metres. The round, when fired, measures at over one thousand degrees celsius, and will ignite or melt most things it strikes, particularly clothing and flesh.
The left barrel could be said to be the exact opposite - it fires a buckshot round filled with liquid nitrogen and small spheres plastic sphered containing more liquid nitrogen, in gel form. The effective range and impact diameter are the same, but while the incendiary round damages, the nitrogen round hinders, usually sticking to clothing and freezing in spread-out lumps that hinders movement and makes standard targets incredibly brittle.
All three barrels can be loaded with standard ammunition, though the left and right are typically keep thermal rounds loaded. The bottom barrel, when not using standard rounds, can be used to fire special varieties, including EMP rounds, micro-rockets and -grenades, and even grapling equipment.

Display similar to firing of the 'hot barrel', but with more flames, greater physical impact, and some magma-like stuff sticking to the victim.
[EQUIPMENT]Spoiler ShowA somewhat more conventional firearm, though still multi-function in its own way. This sidearm is - as its name suggest - a hybrid, featuring two barrels, each of which fires different types of ammo, fed from different locations. The barrels sit one on top of the other, with the upper barrel firing from an eight-shot revolver chamber, typically containing gas-expansion rounds that embed in a target and begin a rapid chemical reaction within the shell itself, typically exploding violently (though without flames) when embedded in the target. This round is best used on armoured targets, as it wrecks havoc on typically impenetrable physical defences.
The bottom barrel fires submachinegun ammunition, and it is around the lower barrel that the revolver chamber rotates. Ammunition is fed to the submachinegun barrel through a circular magazine that clips into the bottom of the handle and wraps around where the thumb of the shooter would be, such as in this image.
Polycrete hackerSpoiler ShowAiden's clothing - aside from one garment - is hardly notable: navy tee with black flame designs sprawled across the right breast and shoulder. A black leather belt holds up black denim cargo jeans, and on his feet are black, semi-armoured boots.
Aiden's coat is his most exotic piece of clothing, made of leather from the hide of genetically-modified dragons (that were quickly proven totally incompatible with any and all ecologies on Earth), famed for its fireproof properties.
The tough leather is a mild-grey in colour, and bears polychromatic stripes alone the arms, chest and back, that change colour when exposed to different temperatures. They remain black at around eighteen degrees celsius, and turn red in warmer temperatures, and blue in colder ones. Silver studs in the arms, shoulders, down the sides and back act as miniature 'factories' for nanites that are embeded in the garment, keeping the dragon leather in a semi-living state to preserve its fireproof properties, and enabling it to self-repair.
An extra function of the nanites is to organise themselves into hardened structures in small-to-medium sized areas within the jacket. These defensive nanties react to the presence of inbound projectiles and attacks, causing the inner areas of the jacket to harden in the approximate area of impact. This defensive property of the jacket only comes into effect after Aiden has come under attack - beforehand, the nanites have no indication that they are being attacked. Once a source of fire or the position of an attacker is located, the jacket alternatively hardens and softens underneath the surface to keep the hardened layers always facing the foe.
Spoiler ShowThe futuristic alternative to concrete, that possesses all of the positive properties of the wondrous material and none of the disadvantages. Concrete takes thousands of years to decompose, cannot be repaired, and needs to be ground down to dust before it can even be remotely re-used.
Polycrete mimics the physical properties of concrete (it's strength and compressibility) and is composed of microscopic, simplistic, mineral-based machines that can organise themselves into specific formations, or settle as a liquid like normal concrete before hardening. Every mass of polycrete has a specific 'code' and 'signal' matched to it, the broadcasting of that code through a particular medium (infrared, radio signals, etc) will cause the polycrete to lose its properties of solidity and become malleable, able to be re-poured into a different shape, or extracted and used elsewhere. Polycrete began the ubiquitious replacement to concrete for these specific properties, and is the building material of choice present in virtually every modern-day building.
I'm probably being Captain Obvious here, but all the Negatives have to do is travel to the rendevouz point in some way or another, right? (I've read the first post already, but I don't wanna post and then find out that I'm completely 'out of the ball park.')
