As many of you know, many months back, I made an RP that became emmensly popular and it eventually spawned a sequel. However, whether it be for better or worse, the story that I'm about to post here will have very little in common with the massive RP.
This is the story of the ones who travel amongst worlds after the doors have been opened. It is about their struggle to survive amongst the Heartless and withstand the darkness that lingers within their own hearts...
Please know that this is the first fanfic that I've ever written, and I'll try to make it as interesting as possible. This is the first draft of this story that I've done, so I'm just gonna wing it and see how it goes. This also means that I'm totally open to any suggestions that you may have...well, enjoy.
Hiroshi was standing on the pathway leading from her doorway. His hands in his shorts pockets and a grin on his slender face. Antha had known Hiroshi since he was nine and she was eight. They had both changed a lot in those past seven years. Hiroshi wasn't the little boy that he used to be...he was tall and thin, but deffinitely not lanky. His hair was thin, like Antha's, but the sun had turned it to almost a white, instead of a blonde. Like everyone else on Destiny Islands, his skin was tanned.
Antha shut the door behind her and approached Hiroshi. "So, what's this that you've got to show me," she inquired in a slightly-less-than-enthused voice.
"You'll see when we get there," he answered. "It's in the secret place, so we gotta head down to the dock."
Like almost every day on the islands, today was a beautiful one. The clouds were white and round, the sky was bright blue, the air was moist and warm, and the air was still. They made their way down the dirt road, passing many shades of green as they went. There were trees everywhere, with small houses scattered amongst them. The sounds and calls of birds filled the air as they flew across the sky.
Hiroshi and Antha had reached their small dock now, and their little boat was bobbing in the water, testing the length of the rope that it was tied to. Hiroshi immediately went to the rope and began untieing it. Antha stepped inside the little, wooden boat and sat down. Once Hiroshi got the rope untied, he tossed it inside the boat and climbed in, himself. Antha pushed the boat away from the dock, grabbed a paddle, and began to paddle through the clear, blue water. The island where they played as children was only a few minutes away, if you paddled hard enough.
As they came closer to the little island, their friend, Selphie became easier to see. She was sitting on the dock that they had all built as children, smiling and staring out at them.
When the water became shallow enough, Antha hopped out of the boat and into the water. She'd let Hiroshi tie the boat up. She made her way to the shore through the calm, shallow water. Selphie greeted her.
"Hey, Antha," she said in her usual cheery voice. Selphie was a couple years younger than Hiroshi and Antha, and like most girls her age, she was quite the sucker for romance.
Antha was in ankle-deep water now. "Hi, Selphie," she replied. "What's happening?"
Selphie stood up on the dock. "Oh, not much," she answered, "but do you know what's up with Riku, Kairi, and Sora? They won't tell me anything, but I know that they're up to something..."
"Is that so?" Antha asked, curiously. Hiroshi was at the dock now, tieing the boat up. He didn't look like he was listening. He looked like he was thinking about something else entirely.
"Yeah," Selphie continued, "they don't really hang out with me and Wakka and Tidus, anymore. They're always busy."
"I see..."
Riku was a boy who was Antha's age, but Antha hadn't really ever talked to him. Sora and Kairi were a year younger than Antha, but she didn't really know them, either. They seemed like nice kids, though...
Hiroshi climbed up onto the deck and brushed off his hands. Selphie turned around to greet him. "Oh, hi, Hiroshi." She glanced back at Antha and then asked,"What're you guys up to, today?"
Making his way down to where Antha was, he merely replied, "Secret."
Selphie made a playfully frustrated face. "Oooh, I'm so sick of these secrets!" Then she giggled..."Does it have to do with a paopu?"
Hiroshi groaned. "No, Selphie. We'll talk to you later."
Antha waved. "Bye, Selphie."
Hiroshi led her up to a small hole in the mountain that led to a little cave. As children, they called it the "Secret Place"...
Hiroshi crawled inside the cave and Antha followed. It was a lot cooler inside of the cave than it was outside. Hiroshi and Antha crawled through the tiny tunel and stood up when they came to the cave. The cave was somewhat dark, and the sounds of the ocean could barely be heard from inside. The walls were covered in scribbles that they had drawn as kids. They used to spend so much time in this place when they were younger. It hadn't changed a bit. Except for the door...
Antha gawked. At the end of the cave, there was a large door. She slowly walked towards it. "Is this...what you were talking about?"
Hiroshi nodded. "Yeah. I mean, I haven't been in here in a while, but...this has gotta be pretty recent."
Antha placed her hand on the door and looked back at Hiroshi. "What do you think it's for?" she aksed. Hiroshi shook his head. "I have no idea," he replied. Antha looked back at the door. It had no handle or anything. She pressed herself against it, but it didn't move. "Weird," she murmered. "Why would they put a door here that you can't use?" Hiroshi shrugged. "I just found it here, yesterday, when I came in here, looking for mushrooms..."
Antha turned back to Hiroshi. "Maybe this is what Riku and them are acting all suspicious for...maybe they know something?"
"It's possible," Hiroshi answered. "Let's go up to that little shack on the side of the mountain. The one with the blanket nailed to the wall. If we stay up there and watch, we're bound to see them." Antha nodded. "Alright, let's go."
They left the cave and climbed the ladder up to the treehouse area of the mountain. They had all built this stuff when they were little kids. They went inside the shack. It was much more comfortable than standing out in the hot sun. They both sat down on the floor, and Hiroshi noticed that the blanket wasn't on the wall. "That's weird," he muttered. Antha looked up. "Hm?"
"The blanket, it's gone."
"Oh...that is strange. I wonder where it went. Ah, well..."
The two of them were sitting up against the tree that went through the side of the shack, looking out at the ocean. Nothing too interesting seemed to be going on. It was very relaxing, up there in the treehouse. The only things that could be heard from here were the birds and the ocean. Antha suddenly had a wave of sleepiness come over her. She needed to stay awake, though...she didn't want to miss anything...

A Strange Door...
Chapter I
A Strange Door...
Antha shifted. She lay there, waiting in her bed for the familiar voice to come from outside her bedroom window. It was bound to come, any moment now. It was the voice that she'd pretend to dread, but really, there was no other that she would rather hear. She finally decided to sit up. What was taking so long? He was normally here by now.
Antha hesitated, but then decided to get out of bed and take a look for herself. Her tan feet moved quietly across the sunlit floor until she reached the windowsill, where she stopped. She peered over and looked at the grass below, and then...
"Antha," the voice finally called from outside. She spotted him. It was Hiroshi. "wow, I didn't have to wake up this time!"
Antha smirked. "Yeah, but only because you decided to take your sweet time," she retaliated.
Hiroshi rolled his bright blue eyes. "Whatever. Hurry up and get out here. I've got something to show you..."
Antha pulled herself back into her room and went to her dresser. She was currently clad only in a white undershirt and white boy-shorts, and even in such a place, that simply would not do. She opened the top drawer and rummaged through the clothing, looking for something that she could just throw on. She found a thin, white dress. Perfect. She took it out and pulled it over her torso. The bottom fell just above the knees. This would do for now.
She moved in front of her mirror and examined herself. She ran her fingers through her thin red hair in attempt to straighten it out. Not too bad. After all, it only fell to her shoulders, so it really couldn't get that messy.
Antha closed the drawer and slipped on a pair of clog-like tennis shoes that were sitting on the floor near her bed. She left her bedroom and made her way down the stairs and out the front door.
Hiroshi was standing on the pathway leading from her doorway. His hands in his shorts pockets and a grin on his slender face. Antha had known Hiroshi since he was nine and she was eight.
