Ok, so, in Chain of Memories, Lexaeus thought he had defeated Riku, who then turned into Rikunort for a few seconds, and got up and slashed through the Silent Hero. Now, what I want to know, is why Xehanorts Heartless wanted to kill Lexaeus. If XH remembered anything from his time as a person, he would remember being partners in crime with Aeleus. So why kill him?

Heres the video

XH most likely killed Lexaeus because if Riku was dead he would need a new body to inhabit. Also he might have wanted to be the one that killed Riku.

He could have let him pull a Zexion by leaving before he could kill him, he was certainly fast enough

Because Lexaeus techincally defeated Riku when he slammed him into the ceiling, but then he turned into Rikunort, and got revived and returned Lexaeus' favor
