When the Foretellers read the final entry of the Book of Prophecies, they believed that it was an event that would happen in their lifetimes. Everything that the Foretellers and the Master of Masters did seemed to be preparing for this event, and this event seemed to be the Keyblade War of legend. However, the Keyblade War couldn't be the last entry in the Book of Prophecies. If that were true, why could we, the players, use Medals (which the Book of Prophecies was used to create) to call on the powers of characters that would not exist until after the Keyblade War? Why were the Foretellers able to use the Book of Prophecies to create these same characters and their worlds for us to visit if they did not yet exist? Why did the Master of Masters give Luxu the assignment to pass on his Keyblade to a worthy apprentice so that his eye could see the future if there was no future to record after the Keyblade War?

All of this means one thing to me: the final entry of the Book of Prophecies describes the war between the guardians of light and seekers of darkness in Kingdom Hearts III. In some of the KH3 trailers, we have even heard Young Xehanort reciting the final entry of the Book of Prophecies as if it had not happened yet saying, "The future, it's already been written."

In addition to the final passage of the Book of Prophecies not happening until KH3, I also think that the traitor talked about in Back Cover won't be revealed until KH3 (unless the traitor is revealed in Union χ). As for who the traitor will be, I think that it will be one of the seekers of darkness. After all, the Book of Prophecies does say that the traitor is "the one who bears the sigil", and many of the seekers of darkness bear the Recusant's Sigil.

However, all of this raises more questions. If the final entry of the Book of Prophecies truly hasn't happened yet, then why did all of the Foretellers act as if the Keyblade War of legend was what it was talking about? This must mean that there was no record of the Keyblade War in the Book of Prophecies, which means that the Master of Masters deliberately left that out. Why? Also, why did the Master of Masters write the Book of Prophecies in such a way that it was difficult for the Foretellers to discover its meaning? After all, he literally saw the future happening with his own eye, so why wasn't he more straightforward when writing it? The Master of Masters must have wanted the Foretellers to fail, hence why the roles that he assigned to them and the rules that he set in place ultimately caused the Foretellers to turn against each other, but why? I guess we will find all of this out in due time.

Regarding the last paragraph, because without intrinsic suspense the story would last 5 minutes, the same reason why the eagles in The Lord of the Rings are not taxis, or why Dumbledore always answer with questions, or why in Resident Evil you have to solve puzzles instead of bursting every door locked with a shotgun, or why they do not rescue Aqua using a Dark Corridor to the Realm of Darkness created by Lea.

I also hate this type of script, but we have to deal with it.

To the last point about Axel not saving Aqua -- it's important to remember that Nobodies use darkness to travel, but they don't travel through the Realm of Darkness, rather they use darkness to travel through the Realm Between. As Mickey says in 0.2: it's really difficult to find a passage between the realms of darkness and light. If there were many, then Heartless would exploit it and run a lot more rampant.

You could make an argument that Luxu/Xigbar is the traitor, seeing as how he has an "x" in his name and Xigbar being an anagram of Braig with the sigil could also be another argument.

I think the real question is why is the last entry "Darkness prevails and light expires", when we know that actually this wasnt the case because Sora re wrote history using the power of waking.

If there are no more entries after that, it suggests that the MoM was no longer able to see events passed that point, but yet we see Luxu still had the no name keyblade again after Xehanort was defeated by Sora. Also we see Luxu summons the foretellers in the epilogue. Why is none of this mentioned in the BoP if Luxu was there to see it ?

It seems there's more to light than meets the eye ... the Master of Master's eye that is. :)

I don't think they ever believed the final passage was about their lifetime, they knew that the keyblade war that ends the world isn't their war. HOWEVER that keyblade war spins off from the upcoming war, the one they would be a part of, and that war may not permanently destroy light it would destroy the world as they knew it. That's what Ira means when he says to the MoM "What about the people who are here now and those who will be there when the darkness comes, are we just to abandon them?" He talks about two groups because he wants to prevent both the war that will soon destroy their era, and the war that would permanently end the world for good.

See the Foretellers had this idea that they were special, that they had the privilege of knowing how the world will end, and that because they knew how it ended then they could do something to prevent that. If they change the course of their present then they believe that would essentially ripple on and change the future. If they could prepare people, that with enough keyblade wielders, and if they collected light then the future written about would be able to change for everyone. Both the people alive then and those that would be alive far in the future. Stop one war and you stop both, stop the ruination of the world now will stop its permanent end later....but it was totally misguided

They were arrogant, believing that their books put them into a position to change the future, never considering that all their knowledge is only second hand, that information may be missing or withheld, or that them knowing the future and what was to come was part of that events already written. They are idealistic fools who trusted the MoM, believing that by him indulging them it actually meant they had a chance to change things...and worse they never considered that just because they can change things and save the future means it won't come without cost.

It's what they realized one by one in their own ways. Ava realized they had been used, that the MoM never intended to stop the first war, that everything that had come to pass was by his own design which is why she went against his instructions in the end in a way she thought might be able to change history. Aced realized that if they stuck by the MoM's plans there is no way that the war to come would be averted, that someone needed to step up and take charge and do something else. Ira realized that by following the MoM's plans that the future they couldn't change and that the MoM's true roles for them was to ensure not that they stop the war to come, but to prepare the world and keep things going with the MoM's plans putting his trust in what the MoM to the bitter end. Invi realized that the balance was breaking and shifting and she couldn't keep it together, she went out trying to the bitter end though to follow her role. Gula realized the idea of the traitor, that finding them with the lost page was a fools errand because everything is deliberately kept ambiguous and he decides the only way to find the traitor is to break more taboos to try and force the MoM to come clean up because he's so frightened of what is to come. And Luxu? He remained pure and unwavering, he stood by and watched everything holding the MoM's true motives and secrets and trusting the MoM knew best.

Ava fought because she had nothing left but to accept fate, Ira fought because he wanted to ensure the history of no victors came to pass, Aced fought to try and change things, Gula fought because he believed to the bitter end they could still change things if only the MoM was with them, Invi fought to try and prolong the inevitable by trying to desperately maintain the balance once last time...and Luxu watched because he had a larger picture than any of them. The one without the book of prophecies is the one who didn't fight because he wasn't consume or blinded or arrogant, he merely had to follow his heart and trust in his faith in his Master.

And to the MoM's credit he managed to do what they wanted. They couldn't stop the first war or the second, but he was able to put into place a back-up to ensure the second war did have its history be changed. Both wars happened as written but because of his plots the second one was able to be rewritten and a new future created. As a bonus his plan ensured the Foretellers would all survive and live to that day even though it would be thousands of years later, and while he couldn't save ALL their union wielders he managed to save at least 300 or so of them. Hell he even created a world where the war never happened and who knows what that world has become. They told the MoM they wanted to change the future, and they did, they just still had to pay a terrible cost and the change came in ways they never expected.

Which is why I expect the Foretellers and even Ava are going to now be more loyal and trusting to the MoM than ever, sure it didn't happen like they wanted it to...but they did still get what they wanted in the end. The MoM delivered on his promises to them, they have every reason now not to doubt the MoM no matter how bad or twisted things become because now there is a blind faith there that it will all be for the best in the end. I full believe that is part of why the MoM did this, he needs the Foretellers absolutely loyal to him for whatever is to come, so he let them work out their kinks and doubts and false loyalty in that mess so what is left are people who will follow him without question.
