So would posting something to a thread I made back in October of last year count as necroposting?

I'll give you few scenarios where a "necrobump" from my POV is fine vs not ok.

+The Bump adds to the original discussion
+There currently is no mirror thread talking about the same topic at present
Example: The What Are You Listening To? (Topic, will always get necrobumped as it is the only one of it's kind on the forum)
+It's likely a fanfiction or roleplay where replies are known for being spread out over weeks/months/years.

A few scenarios to consider against bumping an old topic

-Its obviously a bot bumping a thread.
-You're hyperlinking to an ad or advertising on an old thread.
-A mirror or duplicate thread of the OP that virtually replaced your topic is currently being discussed.


That's about as objective as a reply I can offer friend, just to name a few!

This is more of a question for administration. In the foreseeable future could we potentially see a re-implementation of username color pallets reflecting breaking a certain post-threshold?

This crossed my mind seeing AegisXIII recently crack 1k posts for the first time and no color pallet swap occurred.

(my memory is terrible but it looked something like this)
0-999 normal
1000 - 2999 bronze
3000 - 5999 silver
6000 - 9999 gold
10000 - ???? platinum

Staff colors were varied.

As for why, I would like to clear my social media accounts and past links to them, or other fan-works I created around, or in the case of 5), I just want to forget lol. Interesting. I don’t have that option. Allow me some time to look into this, but I imagine this is a function to comply with EU’s GDPR.

So it is for EU’s GDPR. The function has also been fixed so it actually works.

You can delete at any time instead of having to send a message to an admin or through our contact page.

This was the only other place I could think to place my concern. I have admittedly been a bit inactive for the past 3 weeks due to some IRL things, and writing things for the roleplay section, but I came across this thread.

Listen. We don't tolerate discussion about charged or sensitive topics pertaining to demographics, sexuality, gender, ethnicity, race, religion, and creed lightly. If anyone on this forum makes the choice to speak on anecdotal evidence and opinions ONLY followed by sharp emotional outburst to start witch hunts, you can expect an infraction from me personally. It isn't difficult to discuss a sensitive topic with even a modicum of intelligence and civility. Leave the name-calling and labeling out of the conversation, it doesn't belong there anymore than one's perception of an attack or ire to one specific group.

• Use the report tool.
• Detail your concern.
• Don't instigate. Don't start a witch hunt.
• Let myself and the rest of the staff handle the rest.

I don't know what you're used to here, but I'm a very visible and fair moderator. I absolutely agree when it comes to intolerance to griefing/trolling/hating needlessly. HOWEVER, and let me be clear. Those conversations of sensitive topics CAN be discussed with intelligence, civility, and most importantly, respect. Agree to disagree is a thing. You don't have to like nor agree with anything anyone on this forum says, and you make a choice to engage with them as much as you would to rush to name-call or label, be a bit more thoughtful and tactful in these decisions at least on my behalf, that's all I ask.

I'll be damned if we ban another member without giving them a fighting chance for contrasting viewpoints and their choice of semantics as opposed to advertising, posting porn links, sexual harassment, etc. You know, the stuff that is absolutely indefensible.

Sensitive topics are one thing, casual anti-Semitism and racism is another. I think we can all get on board with having a low tolerance for that kind of rhetoric. I think there was likely missing context here though and this was a misunderstanding on why the user was banned (it was very justifiable) so now that everyone is up to speed, we can move on.

To be transparent, it'd be faster if we actually issued a warning and redirect them to either thread. (Disney/KH Shower thoughts). For the purpose of discretion, I strongly advise using the report tool so staff is alerted and we'll do what we gotta do from there.

+Alternatively, move it to Forum Insanity.
-Conversely, close the thread.
